San Miguel de Allende, Mexico - Chapter Two
The dream continues.....
San Miguel de Allende typical night in Jardin
A typical night in the Jardin in front of the Parrochia in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The teenage boys and girls walk in circles, round and round, while the hip-hop boys practice their breakdance moves in the bandstand cupola in the center of the Jardin. Multiple Mariachi bands line up on the periphery, hoping to be hired by the tourists to perform a tune or two. Everyone else is just enjoying the night air and festive atmosphere, with many families there with their toddlers and young children. Buy a balloon or ice cream, stare at the fabulous La Parrochia, and enjoy life in Mexico!

San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato, United states of Mexico, is a town with an incredible, rich artistic and architectural past that goes back to 5oo years. The discovery of silver ore in the surrounding region, allowed growth, wealth and a stable economy for centuries.
It was the first Mexican Municipality that declared indepence from Spain.
A poor economy following the first World war, nearly caused a complete waning of the town.
In 1938, Stirling Dickinson, moved to San Miguel and wrote about the town. He also created an interest for art with the openning of the Allende Institut . After the war, It is another art school, The school of Fine arts, and an art center, that create an influx of interest for the city, with the arrival of students. The GI bill allowed, returning US soldiers to study abroad.
Nestled in the Sierra Madre at an Altitude of 6000 ft, San Miguel offers an incredible stable climate of temperatures between 70F and 75F ( 20-23 C.)during the day and mild cool nights . Fund-raising for orphans in San Miguel de Allende
San Miguel Angels for Education – SMAFE – supports and invests in the education of children in orphanages and provides access to private primary, secondary and higher education. But SMAFE goes beyond access. It delivers the tools for student success through technology, bilingual education, tutoring and relationships with mentora.
The donations of individuals to these children, Mexico’s children, who are without a traditional family support structure, will allow the orphans access to a better future, and perhaps to create a new family, and to start a new cycle. Donations can empower these children. And with each generation the individuals making changes grows and multiplies, but it needs to start somewhere. And perhaps it can start here - with you and with SMAFE and most importantly, with the children of Santa Julia.

San Miguel de Allende | School for Deaf Children
There are no publicly funded schools for deaf children in the State of Guanajuato, Mexico. If the parent of a deaf child wishes to send their child to school they have no option but to send them to languish, virtually untaught, in a public school classroom with hearing students and with no special instruction whatsoever.
Escuela de Educación Especial de San Miguel de Allende, A.C. (San Miguel School for Special Education) opened its doors on September 3, 2012 to assist these children. A group of seven dedicated local residents and professionals, who had a special interest in helping deaf students in the community, came together to form the board of trustees, have the non-profit society registered, rent and renovate suitable premises, hire three Mexican teachers and reach out into the community to bring deaf Mexican youngsters together to improve their standard of education.
The school opened with six students and currently has fifteen students enrolled between the ages of 4 years and 31 years. Four of these students come from the community of Dolores Hidalgo, a one hour bus ride from San Miguel.
If you feel inspired to support the deaf children of San Miguel de Allende you can send a donation through Paypal at our website page:
