The Scenic Row River Trail in Cottage Grove Oregon
This beautiful and scenic trail is 16 miles (one way) from Bohemia Park by downtown Cottage Grove. The Mosby Creek trailhead is 3 miles from Bohemia Park is the start of the 13 mile BLM section of the ride. There is approximately 500 feet of gradual elevation gain on the ride.

It is a converted rails-to-trails path and is family friendly. The Trail is included in all ride options for the Rotary Club of Cottage Grove's Cycle the Lakes Bike Ride held in September every year. Bicyclists, hikers, and equestrians may enjoy the numerous lakeside vistas and historic covered bridges along the Row River Trail. This 17-mile paved rails-to-trails route begins in downtown Cottage Grove and ends in Culp Creek, a few miles to the north of the Sharps Creek Recreation Site.
The best access is at the Mosby Creek Trailhead. From I-5 in Cottage Grove take exit 174 and turn east on Row River Road. Follow Row River Road for one mile and turn right on Currin Conn Road, which connects you to Mosby Creek Road. Turn left and follow Mosby Creek Road two miles to Layng Road. Turn left and the trailhead will be immediately on your left. Parking, restrooms, and an informational kiosk are available at the trailhead.
Parking is also available at Dorena Dam, Row Point, Harms Park, and Bake Stewart Park. Click on the brochure to view a map of these locations.
The trail is also part of the recently designated Covered Bridges State Scenic Bikeway.

Oregons' Covered Bridges: Currin Bridge, Cottage Grove, Oregon (Row River)
The Currin Bridge is a Howe truss covered bridge near Cottage Grove, Oregon, United States. It crosses the Row River.
The Currin Bridge was built in 1925 to replace another bridge built in 1883. The lowest bid received by Lane County for construction of the bridge was $6,250, so the county decided to build the bridge on its own for $4,205, saving $2,495 of taxpayers' money. The bridge was named after an early pioneer family.
The Currin Bridge is the only bridge in Oregon that is painted two different colors. The Currin Bridge has white portals and red sides. It is one of seven covered bridges in the immediate area.
In 1979, Lane County completed a new concrete bridge nearby the Currin Bridge and closed the old bridge to traffic. The new bridge is only a few feet away from the Currin Bridge, which is still accessible by pedestrians. In 1987, the bridge had work done fumigating for insects and structural repair, and in the 1993-1995, the Oregon Covered Bridge Program of Lane County received a grant of $48,000 to restore the bridge. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Waterfalls of Oregon: Row River
While only 20 miles long, the two upper streams that form the headwaters of the Row River contain 9 significant waterfalls easily accessible by road and trails. This area is easily accessible from I-5 at Cottage Grove. The most popular is Wildwood Falls, the only falls on the main steam of the river at 15’ and a very popular swimming hole. The tallest falls is Pinard Falls at 105’ on the upper tributary of Layng Creek. This 28-minute meditative Blu-ray video tour, with only the sounds of the water and instrumental music, is designed to be enjoyed over and over again, feeding the soul as well as your eyes and ears, taking you to places that you might not otherwise visit, sometimes to places right in your own part of Oregon.

SUMMARY

Row River National Recreation Trail is a rails to trails conversion in the U.S. state of Oregon. It follows the Row River for 16.2 miles (26.1 km) between Cottage Grove and Culp Creek, passing by Dorena Lake, and provides access to many forest trails of Umpqua National Forest.
The rail line was built to serve the gold and silver mining of the Bohemia mining district well up the Row River. The mines were closing by the time the rail line was complete, but the region's old-growth timber attracted many logging operations and communities that kept the rail line busy.
The Oregon Pacific & Eastern Railway abandoned the line in 1994. A timber sale default resulted in the Bureau of Land Management taking the rail corridor in exchange for payment.
There are three historic covered bridges near the trail: the Mosby Creek Bridge of 1920, Currin Bridge of 1925, and the Dorena Bridge of 1949.Several movies have been filmed along the route, including 1926's The General with Buster Keaton, 1974's Emperor of the North (Pole) with Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine, and 1986's Stand by Me with Keifer Sutherland and River Phoenix.
