While Moscow and the rest of the world were riveted by the recent struggle for power in the Kremlin, the rest of Russia went about its daily routine, largely oblivous to the capital's intrigue.
In the village of Boyarki, nearly 100km to the east of Moscow mostly they worry about where they will get their next meal. With the collapse of the collective farm system, the populations of villages have had to return to a medieval system of self-supply, or hunting and gathering.
Most of their food is grown in the backyard or in kitchen gardens. Almost 70% of the residents have moved elsewhere, to bigger towns or the capital, leaving the elderly behind.

Russian soldier kills 8 servicemen in Siberia
(25 Oct 2019) The Russian Defence Ministry says a soldier killed eight of his comrades and wounded two others in a shooting at a base in Siberia.
It said the incident happened Friday at a military base in the town of Gorny about 150 kilometers (93 miles) north of the border with Mongolia.
Two of those killed were officers and the others were enlisted men.
The two wounded soldiers reportedly were in serious condition.
Roman Yakushevskiy, a security guard at the nearest hospital to the base, described how a military officer arrived and ordered the hospital gates to be opened, telling staff that casualties were about to be brought in.
Authorities detained the soldier suspected of carrying out the attack. He's been named as 20-year-old Ramil Shamsutdinov.
The Defence Ministry said the soldier apparently opened fire in a nervous breakdown over personal problems unrelated to his military duties.
A deputy defence minister was heading to the base to conduct investigations.
Shootings and other violent incidents plagued the Russian military in the 1990s and early 2000s when it suffered from desperate cash shortages and low morale.
They have become relatively rare in recent years as conditions in the military have improved.

С атаманом Нижней Гостагайки Денисом Харкавенко ездили к старожилам хутора - Николаю Никитовичу и Лидии Тимофеевне Тимченко, которые 1 февраля 2018 года отметят свою бриллиантовую свадьбу. Часа два мы общались в уютной тёплой хате, построенной руками Николая Никитовича. Много интересного я узнал об их жизни... Эту беседу я хочу изложить в виде интервью или очерка для нашей газеты Русские ворота.
Смотрел фотографии, пил воду из колодца, слушал настоящую кубанскую балачку (местный диалект), на которой говорит хозяйка - впечатлений масса!

#Анапа НАБЕРЕЖНАЯ. Часть 1. Гуляю пешком
Анапа — знаменитый на весь мир курорт России! Протяженность пляжей превышает 40 км. Приезжайте на отдых в Анапу, в город солнца, которое здесь светит 300 дней в году, город золотых пляжей и ласкового моря.
Она протянулась почти на 2 км с запада на восток – от улицы Ленина до устья реки Анапка. Рядом находится Морвокзал, откуда можно отправиться в путешествие куда угодно, а еще от причала на Набережной ежедневно отходят катера в разные уголки курорта.

Набережная собрала возле себя все наилучшее в городе:
.
1). Анапский маяк. Возрожденный после разрушения в ходе боев Великой Отечественной войны, он стал прекраснее прежнего. Черно-белое здание высотой в 21 м стало традиционным для встречи отдыхающих. Башня находится в самом конце так называемой аллеи любви, а расположение на обрыве делает ее прекрасной смотровой площадкой для ценителей красивых морских пейзажей;
2). Музей-заповедник «Горгиппия». 35 гектар площади продемонстрируют остатки построек времен греческого правления любому желающему;
3). Русские ворота. Остатки турецкой крепости XVIII века с двумя аутентичными пушками на входе расскажут туристам одну из страниц прошлого города-курорта.
Сквер славы.
4). Сквер славы. Уютное место с ухоженными растениями и вымощенными дорожками. За каждым кустом притаился памятник одному из самых видных деятелей истории XX века.

Помимо полноценных экспозиционных комплексов, гуляя по набережной, в самых неожиданных уголках нетрудно наткнуться то на памятник огромной Белой шляпе, то на аттракционы в Парке 30-летия Победы, то на прекрасную тенистую аллею с фонтанами. А если захочется пощекотать нервы, к услугам отдыхающих аквапарк «Золотой пляж», на огромной территории которого расположено 6 открытых бассейнов, благоустроенные территории для загара и, конечно же, горки.
