Dalian's Russian Street (China)
Most remnants of Russia's seven-year tenure in Dalian are located along what is today called Dalian's Russian Street / 俄羅斯風情街 / Русская улица (Russkaia ulitsa), originally Engineer Street (улица Инженерная ulitsa Inzhenernaia), the oldest street in Dalian.
In the mid-1990s the mayor of Dalian, Bo Xilai, conceived the idea of renovating the remaining Russian-era structures on the street, adding new ones built in a Russian style, and renaming the street Russian Street. Work on the project began in 1999 and brought in Russian architects and other experts. Eight Russian era buildings were renovated, including the former Russian Dalniy City Hall, six new buildings were built, and six other existing structures were given Russian façades to match the street's theme. The newly renovated street was inaugurated on 1 October 2000.

A short documentary I made in China as part of the Looking China 2014 programme. Dalian is one of China’s greatest coastal fishing cities, but how is its strong fishing culture reflected in the city’s cuisine? An offseason winter trip to Dalian. As a port city and with beautiful beaches Dalian still holds its beauty during freezing winter.
Even though my first time flying this quadrotor , it flew smoothly in gusty level 5 / 20mph wind. But because of -15C temperature, the battery lasted a bit less, for about 15-18 minutes.

Dalian is a modern port city on the Liaodong Peninsula, at the southern tip of China’s Liaoning Province. It was founded by the Russians in 1898, and Russian Street (Eluosi Fengqing Jie) is lined with Russian-style architecture. Zhongshan Square is lined with colonial buildings in Renaissance and other styles. Popular beaches include Tiger Beach and Golden Pebble Beach.
