The Yard @ College Avenue, Rutgers University, by McCann Systems
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is the eighth oldest higher education institution in the United States. As part of a larger development project, a mammoth 360 square foot LED wall transforms the historic College Ave. campus into a modern social hub for students to enjoy campus life.
The Yard is one of the most sought after on-campus housing options, largely due to the bustling common area. The u-shaped apartment building now features a colossal outdoor 6mm LED videowall and a full range loudspeaker system to broadcast Rutgers sporting and cultural events, movies, news, original programming, and live feeds.
Moveable outdoor seating and a lush grassy lawn provide ample space for students to settle in at the 30 ft. by 12 ft. display. Mounted 13 ft. above ground with a wide viewing angle, the system was designed to provide great sightlines from anywhere in the vicinity.
Weather elements are no concern in affecting picture quality. With a remarkable brightness of 6000 nits and auto-adjusted dimming, over 281 trillion colors radiate from the mammoth videowall, regardless of the exterior conditions.
