From June 3-10, 2016, 8 students and 1 faculty member traveled to Georgetown, SC for an Alternative Break Trip. The group spent their week volunteering with the South Carolina Coastal Animal Rescue & Educational Sanctuary (SC-C.A.R.E.S.), a no-kill, no-breed shelter for unwanted, abused, and neglected exotic animals.
The Alternative Break program is organized by the Center for Service-Learning & Community Engagement at APSU. For more information on how to get involved, visit apsu.edu/volunteer
