Ibiza: Ses Salines Beach
It was a beautiful summer day and perfect beach weather. Here's my video report from one of Ibiza's most popular beaches!
From Ibiza-spotlight.com:
Location: 10 minutes drive from Playa d'en Bossa or Ibiza Town
Facilities: Loungers, parasols, restaurants, bars, massage, beach boutiques, shop, lockers, showers, lifeguards, beach security
Activities: Pedaloes, electro boats, sailing, windsurf, stand-up paddle, kayak, diving school
Size: 1.5 kilometres long, 25-30 metres wide
Getting there: Reached by hire car, bicycle or bus from Ibiza Town (10 km) or Playa d'en Bossa (6 km). In peak season the main road in becomes clogged with parked cars as people try and park for free, however there is a paid parking area (left at the roundabout) with good facilities and covered parking bays.
Named after the salt lakes in the south of Ibiza, the beach at Las Salinas is the southern most tip of the island and is considered (as far as beaches can be so) to be very cool.
The very long, wide crescent of pale sandy beach is bordered by pine woods. The water is crystal clear with breakers that appear on windy days, perfect for body-surfing. Small catamarans (available for hire) sit on the sand at the southern-most end of the beach, then walking towards the pirate tower you will pass a string of popular bars and restaurants whose gourmet food, attractive clientele and gorgeous location more than make up for the exclusive prices. The bars all play a quality selection of dance and balearic music which spills out onto the beach, and will often bring cocktails and food orders out to you on the sand! Further down the beach you will come to a quieter section which is popular among nudists and beyond the nudie-gauntlet, a small stretch of sand with a rocky entrance to the water which houses the lively Sa Trinxa.
It should be noted that, whilst Salinas is always a lovely place to relax, it is not quiet. During the heat of the day in summer months expect a steady stream of party parades, ticket sellers and would-be beach merchants making their way along the beach and engaging those on the sand in conversation. In the quiet of winter, Salinas is especially good for adventure walks, as the surrounding terrain is Ibiza's Wildlife Conservation Area.
Tip: If you've the energy, walk towards the watchtower. In the off-season it's a great walk to blow the cobwebs away and you can return via the woods. In the summer months it allows you to discover the small coves dotted along the rockier part of the coastline; you may even find your own private beach!

Salinas Beach, Sa Trinxa, Ibiza on Thursdays
Salinas Beach, Sa Trinxa, Ibiza on a typical Thursday.
The thing I liked most on this beach was the live music on Thursday afternoon. With live players, include the famous Ibiza's violinist - Micah and his friends on the guitar and live singer and Belly dancer.
Salinas is a long beach, sa trinxa is just a very small part of it. But you can take walk all along the beach, to the south of sa trinxa there are many nudist and beautiful rocky beaches.
How to get there? playa salinas is just 10 minutes' drive form den bossa, few minutes form Ibiza airport.
The parking cost 6 euro, and it's about 5-10 minutes' walk from the parking lot to sa trinxa, just make sure you follows the signs to the right place, because you can easily get lost on the way there form the parking.
The beach is very beautiful, the water are very clear and you can do some snorkeling.
I really love this beach especially on Thursdays with the live show, people are getting up and it feel like a spontaneous beach party.
Sa Trinxa has a good vibe, if you like to feel the real Ibiza beach life you should visit salinas beach.
* The live music is only on Thursday, you should take a look in sa trinxa website for other events:
Playa Ses Salines Ibiza
Stunning Beautiful beach, iconic Platja de Ses Salines Ibiza, with famous Sa Trinxa beach bar (closed for the winter).

Ibiza is an island in the Mediterranean Sea 79 km off the coast of the city of Valencia in Spain. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, an autonomous community of Spain. With Formentera, it is one of the two Pine Islands or Pityuses. Wikipedia

Ibiza is considered to be a popular tourist destination, especially due to its legendary and at times riotous nightlife centred around two areas: Ibiza Town, the island's capital on the southern shore and Sant Antoni to the West.[1] Well-known nightclubs are Privilege, Amnesia, Space, Pacha, Eden, Es Paradís, Underground and DC10.[1] During the summer, the top producers and DJs in dance come to the island and play at the various clubs, in between touring to other international destinations. Some of the most famous DJs run their own weekly nights around the island. Many of these DJs use Ibiza as an outlet for presenting new songs within the house, trance and techno genres of electronic dance music. The city has achieved renown worldwide fame as a cultural center for house and trance in particular, with its name often being used as a partial metonym for the particular flavor of electronic music originating there, much like Goa in India.
Since 2005, the live music event, Ibiza Rocks, has helped to redefine the Ibiza party landscape. Bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, The Prodigy, and the Kaiser Chiefs have played in the courtyard of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel. And from 2013 Ushuaïa Ibiza will be turned into a giant ant colony to coincide with the new ANTS dance music events every Saturday.[18]
Elsewhere on the island, underground music parties are common and enjoyed by the many international musicians, artists, and travelers that are drawn to the unique creative environment of Ibiza.
The season traditionally begins at the start of June with Space and DC10's opening parties and finishes on the first weekend of October with the Closing Parties. A typical schedule for clubbers going to Ibiza includes waking at noon, early evening naps, late night clubbing, and disco sunrises. Due to Ibiza's notable tolerance toward misbehaviour from young adult tourists, it has acquired the sobriquet Gomorrah of the Med. Also well-known is Café del Mar, a long-standing bar where many tourists traditionally view the sunset made famous by José Padilla, who has released more than a dozen eponymous album compilations of ambient music played at the location. That and other bars close by have become an increasingly popular venue for club pre-parties after sunset, hosting popular DJ performers.
The island's government is trying to encourage a more cultured and quieter tourism scene, passing rules including the closing of all nightclubs by 6 a.m. at the latest, and requiring all new hotels to be 5-star.[19] The administration wants to attract a more international mixture of tourists.[20]

Ibiza is one of the Balearic islands, an archipelago of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. It's well known for the lively nightlife in Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni, where major European nightclubs have summer outposts. It’s also home to quiet villages, yoga retreats and beaches, from Platja d'en Bossa, lined with hotels, bars and shops, to quieter sandy coves backed by pine-clad hills found all around the coast.

Ibiza (Catalan: Eivissa ) is an island in the Mediterranean Sea, 150 kilometres off the coast of the city of Valencia, in eastern Spain. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, an autonomous community of Spain. Its largest cities are Ibiza Town (Catalan: Vila d'Eivissa, or simply Vila), Santa Eulària des Riu, and Sant Antoni de Portmany. Its highest point, called Sa Talaiassa (or Sa Talaia), is 475 metres) above sea level.
While it is one-sixth the size of nearby Majorca, Ibiza is over five times the size of Mykonos (Greece), or ten times the size of Manhattan Island. Ibiza has become famous for the association with nightlife and the electronic music that originated on the island. It is well known for its summer club scene which attracts very large numbers of tourists, though the island's government and the Spanish Tourist Office have controversially been working to promote more family-oriented tourism.
Ibiza is considered to be a popular tourist destination, especially due to its legendary and at times riotous nightclub based nightlife centred on two areas: Ibiza Town, the island's capital on the southern shore and Sant Antoni to the West.
