Jaipur (The Pink City) is chock full of forts and palaces and luckily for my girlfriend and I, we were able to find an economical way to see them all in a day with Tuk Tuk Safari.

Jhalana Forest Reserve, Jaipur, Rajasthan - Where leopard is King
Jhalana Forest Reserve is in Malaviya Nagar, which is close to Jaipur, Rajasthan. This 24 sq.km reserve is one of the eight sanctuaries which form part of Project Leopard launched in March, 2017.
Leopard is a schedule 1 animal protected under Wildlife Protection of India Act, 1972. As per 2016 census, leopard population in Rajasthan is estimated at 508.
The Reserve is a first in the world at conserving leopards by reducing conflict between animal and man. Natural prey density in the forest means less dependence on livestock and stray dogs just outside the reserve. Leopards will be prevented from straying into human dominated landscapes and thus will, in turn, minimise the negative impact of blue bull and wild boar populations.
Jeep safaris by the Forest Department were launched in 2016. This is the only forest in India where you can see leopards during the day. The various waterholes in the forest ensure that leopards staying in the Aravali hills above have to occasionally come down to quench their thirst.

Jeep safari at Jhalana Leopard Reserve | Jaipur
To experience one really good jeep safari, then visit Jhalana Leopard Reserve in Jaipur. Here the ride is smooth and you tend to find a lot of animal species.
In this video, you can find a Sambar deer( Rusa unicolor) and a couple of Peafowls. You also come across a couple of landmarks inside the safari. One famous spot that attracts a lot of animals is the Laalkund, a lake with fresh water.
Although not everyone is lucky enough to find a leopard (Panthera Pardus Fusca) most people do find one. Go try your luck but even then the safari is something to experience.
The reserve is covered in greenery and hills at the backdrop looks like the place to be. The animals roam free, so be a little careful while you step off the car.

India 2016 - Jaipur & Pushkar
We only spent one day in Jaipur on our way to Pushkar. We went to the Hawa Mahal and the Pink City, but we were less than impressed with Jaipur and the filth that abounded.
We took a train to Pushkar where we spent over a week relaxing at our hotel. The city is one of the required pilgrimage sites for all Hindus sometime in their life due to the lake that was was made by Brahma by dropping a lotus flower on the ground which made the lake.
Pushkar is also the place where the largest camel fair in the world takes place in October each year. We booked a camel safari and traveled the outskirts of the desert city. Having never ridden a camel before, Shelly and I were excited to do this. We were lead most of the way and then rode the camels with our guides behind us back into the city and back to our hotel. At one point we were in a full sprint, bumping our way across the desert.
Full of cafes and a favorite place of Israeli tourists, Pushkar was a great mix of everything! Grey Langur Monkeys were everywhere as were wild peacocks.
