Oliver purchased this property in 1886 for $2,316.66. Then in 1907 Memphis Cold Storage Company built the structure which is now The Pier Restaurant. Jazz Guitar Trio recorded at Mane Room for WC Handy Festival 2013 1080p
Alabama Music Office.com goes to the Mane Room in downtown Florence, Alabama to attend a live recording session of a Jazz Guitar Trio for W.C. Handy Festival 2013. The outstanding trio is Mundell Lowe, Mel Deal and Carlos Pino.
Mundell Lowe's career reads like a select list of jazz highlights from the 20th Century and beyond, as befits a guitar great whose past collaborators include such American music icons as Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones and Stan Getz.
A six-string master of unusual concision and eloquence, he turned 90 on April 21. Lowe has walked with artistic giants for so long it almost seems surprising he has remained so down to earth. But it's no surprise, at least not to those who know Lowe's tireless dedication, that — nearly a month after he turned 90 on April 21 — he is doing three San Diego concerts (two public, one private) over the next seven days. That tally does not include his Saturday, May 12, concert at UCLA.

Mel Deal has over forty years experience as a professional instrumentalist and has worked in venues ranging from solo jazz guitar to The Nashville Symphony Orchestra. Because of his versatility, he has also performed with many pop and country music stars.
In addition to a playing career, he is part of the faculty at The Nashville Jazz Workshop. He has taught jazz guitar clinics at The University Of N. Alabama, Hume Fogg and Battleground Academy, and has been a guitar instructor at Montgomery Bell Academy for fifteen years.
As an instrumentalist, he has performed with the Nashville Symphony, The Nashville Opera Co., The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, The Nashville Chamber Orchestra, The Birmingham Symphony, Midland/Odessa Texas Symphony, and The Germantown Chamber Orchestra in Memphis, TN. These venues have ranged from classical and opera to off Broadway productions and pops concerts, including performances with: Michael Feinstein, Melba Moore, Lorna Luft, Idina Menzel, Rita Coolidge, and Jimmy Webb. Recorded works with the Nashville Symphony include:Rhapsody in Blue, West Side Story, and Porgy and Bess. Jazz artists with whom he has performed include: Ricky Woodard, Gatemouth Brown, Groove Holmes, Gene Bertoncini, Jack Wilkins, Mark Feldman, Paul McCandless, and Mundell Lowe. He has studied privately with jazz guitar greats Jimmy Raney and Pat Martino.

Carlos Pino (born August 19, 1973 in New Orleans) is a jazz guitarist. He is a member of several active performing groups, including the Magic City Jazz Orchestra, the Night Flight Big Band, the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame All-Stars and Ray Reach and Friends.
Pino, the son of a Columbian physician who immigrated to the United States and works at UAB, is a 1991 graduate of the Altamont School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Technology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Rutgers University. He is a faculty member of the educational program at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame.

Winner of the Memphis Blues Society's Battle of the Blues, Eric and company have been belting out their fun and rowdy blues to Beale Street visitors since 2001.
Also featuring country music favorite Timber Tree from our friend Mr. Loney Hutchins at his superb restaurant and music venue The Whippoorwhill in Gallatin, TN. Accompanied by beautiful background vocals from the lovely and talented singer/songwriters Benita Hill and Kacey Jones. Enjoy state of the art sound with some of the best food in town !! My Tennessee Hills is a true document of American heritage. Loney Hutchins (Sr.) was born into poverty in the Appalachia hills during the 1940's with one foot in Tennessee and the other in Virginia. The struggle of growing up in this part of the world is a theme throughout all of his songs, save for the occasional love ballad, of course. It is of little coincidence Hutchins could see Clinch Mountain from his bedroom window as a young boy. This cultural heritage is inescapable in his music. It's in his blood. Years later, a chance run in with June Carter Cash lead to an audition with husband, Johnny. This landed Hutchins a job working for House of Cash and he eventually became manager of the label's publishing end, assembling the entire catalog into one book and, serving as pitch man for these songs to such luminaries as Chet Atkins, Owen Bradley and, Billy Sherril. He also had some of his own songs cut by both Johnny and Tommy Cash (the latter of which, You Still Have That Look In Your Eyes included on his album, recorded for the first time by Hutchins).
Following his years with House of Cash, Hutchins started his own publishing label, Appalachia Music, charting independently on both Cashbox and Billboard. In the 80's, a new calling lead him to do pioneering work in the field of music therapy with head injury sufferers, a field he continues to work in to this day. Having amassed a life time's worth of material, Hutchins finally recorded this new compilation with son, Loney John, a young producer/engineer in Nashville. My Tennessee Hills features a cast of musicians that have played with such artists as Charlie Louvin, Will Oldham/Bonnie Prince Billy, Lambchop, Bobby Bare Sr. and, others. My Tennessee Hills is a must for any fan of traditional country/bluegrass and a new beginning for a songwriter from another era.
Enjoy these and other exciting artists on previous episodes of our popular family video cast : VivaNashvilleUSA.com and friend us on Facebook.com/VivaNashvilleUSA to share your music events :)

SUMMARY
=======
Nashville is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Tennessee. The city is the county seat of Davidson County and is located on the Cumberland River. The city's population ranks 24th in the U.S. According to 2017 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau, the total consolidated city-county population stood at 691,243. The balance population, which excludes semi-independent municipalities within Davidson County, was 667,560 in 2017.Located in northern Middle Tennessee, Nashville is the major city of the largest metropolitan area in Tennessee. The 2017 population of the entire 14-county Nashville metropolitan area was 1,903,045. The 2017 population of the Nashville–Davidson–Murfreesboro–Columbia combined statistical area, a larger trade area, was 2,027,489.Named for Francis Nash, a general of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, the city was founded in 1779. The city grew quickly due to its strategic location as a port on the Cumberland River and, in the 19th century, a railroad center. Nashville seceded with Tennessee during the American Civil War; in 1862 it was the first state capital in the Confederacy to fall to Union troops. After the war, the city reclaimed its position and developed a manufacturing base.
Since 1963, Nashville has had a consolidated city-county government, which includes six smaller municipalities in a two-tier system. The city is governed by a mayor, a vice-mayor, and a 40-member metropolitan council; 35 of the members are elected from single-member districts, while the other five are elected at-large. Reflecting the city's position in state government, Nashville is home to the Tennessee Supreme Court's courthouse for Middle Tennessee, one of the three divisions.
Nashville is a center for the music, healthcare, publishing, private prison, banking, and transportation industries. It is home to numerous colleges and universities, such as Tennessee State University, Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, Fisk University, and Lipscomb University. Entities with headquarters in the city include Asurion, Bridgestone Americas, Captain D's, CoreCivic, Dollar General, Hospital Corporation of America, LifeWay Christian Resources, Logan's Roadhouse, and Ryman Hospitality Properties.

LEROY TROY AND THE TENNESSEE MAFIA JUG BAND are a blast from the past band. Their latest CD is 'Barnyard Frolic'.
CLANCEY FERGUSON has been hailed as Princess of Bluegrass. This 15 year old fiddler from Mountain View, Arkansas is the 2012 Arkansas State Junior Fiddle Champion the and 2013 Arkansas Junior Contemporary Fiddle Champion. THE OZARK ALLIANCE is a family band from Salem, Missouri, (home of The Dillards). Alex, Jenny, Allison, Robin, & Dennis Vaughn have been playing together as a band since 2002 - with the exception of Allison, who was only born in 2004. The band specializes in traditional and modern bluegrass and bluegrass-gospel music performed around a single mic. In fact, they won 1st place in the National Single Mic Championship at Silver Dollar City in 2008.
MOUNTAIN SPROUT is a highly energetic hillbilly music machine, spitting original tunes and blowing minds with whitty lyrics and face melting musicianship. Hailing from Eureka Springs, Arkansas, four incredible musicians work seamlessly to bring forward the kind of bass thumping, banjo picking, guitar playing, fiddle shredding, that makes you get and stomp your feet.
DAVID KIMBROUGH III is a genuine bluesman living in Northwest Arkansas. He began his career singing alongside his father the great Junior Kimbrough. David has recently added the mountain dulcimer to his presentation of original, Delta, North Mississippi Hill Country and Cotton Patch Blues.
ALLISON WILLIAMS is a native of the Arkansas Ozarks and plays old-time clawhammer banjo in a modern context. Allison got her start as a punk rock musician before rediscovering her musical roots. Several years in the mountains of North Carolina educated her in Appalachian banjo techniques, especially the fast, distinctive styles of Hobart Smith and Wade Ward. Since releasing her solo CD 'Give Me Roses', she has toured internationally, playing to a sold-out Barbican Hall in London, as part of the BBC's Folk America special, and backing folk legend Michelle Shocked on her 2010 East Coast tour. She makes her home again in the Ozark mountains.
