Russia's Su 34 fighter bombers are training aerial battles over Chelyabinsk
Flights with the most difficult elements of flight training were performed by pilots of Su-34 fighter-bombers of the Central Military District in the Chelyabinsk Region, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
The crews conducted a single and group air battle with the “enemy”, while performing training launches of guided and unguided missiles.
The pilots showed their skills in flying at extremely low altitude, only about 5 meters, landing approach over reference-free terrain and instrument landing.

Krik Krikorian's Interview
Nerses “Krik” Krikorian was born in Turkey in 1921. He was brought to North America at the age of four, escaping the aftermath of the Armenian genocide. After graduating from college, Krikorian worked for Union Carbide in Niagara Falls, NY during World War II. In 1946, he was approached to work at Los Alamos to build polonium initiators for one year. He ended up staying in Los Alamos, where he still resides today, and even helped to write the charter to govern the town. In this interview, he remembers his childhood and experiences as the eldest son in an immigrant family. He also discusses his work at Los Alamos and his involvement in laboratory-to-laboratory cooperation with the Soviet Union at the end of the Cold War.

Holy Patron's Day at Russian Orthodox Church
The Russian Orthodox Church in Jacksonville, FL celebrated the 50th anniversary of their Patron Saint, St. John of Shanghai & San Francisco. It was a special event for this church, the ceremony included Bishop Mitrophan, visiting from New Jersey. The event also included an exhibition of the works of photo artist Ivan Zhuk. This event started on the evening of July 1st (Friday evening) and continued on Saturday July 2nd.
A Brief Bio on St John of Shanghai & San Francisco
St. John was born Mikhail Borisovich Maximovitch in 1896 in the village of Adamovka in the Kharkov Governorate (in present-day southern Ukraine). He came from the same family of Serbian origin as that of St. John of Tobolsk, whom he was said to resemble in several respects. From 1907 to 1914 he attended Poltava Military School. He received a degree in law from Kharkov Imperial University in 1918. His family brought him to Belgrade in 1921, where in 1925 he graduated from Belgrade University with a degree in theology.
In 1926 he was tonsured a monk and ordained a hierodeacon by Russian Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky), who gave him the name of John after his saintly relative. Later that same year, he was ordained to the priesthood by Rusiian Bishop Gabriel of Chelyabinsk. For several years afterward he worked as an instructor and tutor in Yugoslavia. He worked as a religious teacher in the Gymnasium of Velika Kikinda between 1925 and 1927. In 1929, Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church appointed him a teacher of the seminary in Bitola. The principal of the seminary was Nikolaj Velimirović. In 1934 he was ordained a bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia by Metropolitan Anthony and assigned to the diocese of Shanghai.
In Shanghai, Bishop John found an uncompleted cathedral and an Orthodox community deeply divided along ethnic lines. Making contact with all the various groups, he quickly involved himself in the existing charitable institutions and personally founded an orphanage and home for the children of indigents. Here he first became known for miracles attributed to his prayer. As a public figure it was impossible for him to completely conceal his ascetic way of life. Despite his actions during the Japanese occupation, when he routinely ignored the curfew in pursuit of his pastoral activities, the Japanese authorities never harassed him. As the only Russian hierarch in China who refused to submit to the authority of the Soviet-dominated Russian Orthodox Church, he was elevated to archbishop by the Holy Synod of ROCOR in 1946.
When the Communists took power in China, the Russian colony was forced to flee, first to a refugee camp on the island of Tubabao in the Philippines and then mainly to the United States and Australia. Archbishop John travelled personally to Washington, D.C. to ensure that his people would be allowed to enter the country.
In 1951 John was assigned to the archdiocese of Western Europe with his see first in Paris, then in Brussels. Thanks to his work in collecting lives of saints, a great many pre-Schism Western saints became known in Orthodoxy and continue to be venerated to this day. His charitable and pastoral work continued as it had in Shanghai, even among a much more widely scattered flock.
In 1962 John was once again reassigned by the Holy Synod to the see of San Francisco. Here too, he found a divided community and a cathedral in an unfinished state. Although he completed the building of Holy Virgin Cathedral and brought some measure of peace to the community he became the target of slander from those who became his political enemies, who went so far as to file a lawsuit against him for alleged mishandling of finances related to construction of the cathedral. He was exonerated, but this was a great cause of sorrow to him in his later life.
Deeply revering St. John of Kronstadt, John Maximovitch played an active role in preparation of his canonization.
The Relics of St. John
On July 2, 1966 (June 19 on the Julian calendar), St. John died while visiting Seattle at a time and place he was said to have foretold. He was entombed in a sepulchre beneath the altar of the Holy Virgin Cathedral he had built in San Francisco dedicated to the Theotokos, Joy of all who Sorrow, on Geary Boulevard in the Richmond district. In 1994 he was solemnly glorified on the 28th anniversary of his death. His unembalmed relics now occupy a shrine in the cathedral's nave. His feast day is celebrated on the Saturday nearest to July 2. He is beloved and celebrated worldwide, with portions of his relics located in Serbia, Russia, Mount Athos, Greece (Church of Saint Anna in Katerini) Bulgaria, Romania, United States, Canada (Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, Kitchener), England (Dormition Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church, London) and other countries of the world.

Object Over Texas Skies Believed To Be Bolide Meteorite
A ball of fire lit up the skies of Texas and even the Midwest Wednesday night as a meteor streaked through the atmosphere.
A lot of people were lucky enough to the see the red orange and green ball and sparks.
And if you didn't, we've got you covered with lots of pictures.
News 3 spoke with a Texas A&M Astronomer to find us why the celestial event was a rare sight to see.
It wasn't a UFO but a pretty spectacular meteor seen from the Brazos Valley to Kansas for a few brief seconds Wednesday night.
It looked like a sparkler, almost, said Lisa Coleman.
Coleman witnessed the space spectacle from her driveway in north Bryan.
There was just this huge meteor-like rock falling across the sky and I thought wow that's really huge to be a shooting star but it lasted about 12 to 15 seconds and it had a sparkling flaring tail, she said.
Dash camera video from a police car even caught the mysterious meteor just near Temple.
It turns out there's a lot of meteorite myths out there.
Texas A&M Astronomy Professor Nicholas Suntzeff tells us what was high in the sky was likely only about the size of your fist.
If they do hit the earth they are not hot they are cold. They come in very quickly but because they're so cold in space there is the fire around them but that's like produces insulation and the meteor itself remains cold and so it will not it almost never produces a fire when it hits the earth, said Nicholas Suntzeff, Ph.D.
Professor Suntzeff says this type of meteorite is so rare most people will probably never see one in their lifetime.
Bolide meteors like the one Wednesday night are extremely bright.
Usually it's just a fraction of a second here it was like five seconds or so. Again I've only seen a few of those in my life. I wish I'd seen it.
I just count myself very lucky that I got to see something like that and I was just really wondering what it was, said Lisa Coleman.
Where the meteorite ended up is not known and there have been no reports of damage in Texas.
We're told meteors like this can typically travel 15 miles per second.
It turns out the sighting also happened on the 9th anniversary of the Columbia disaster when the space shuttle broke up over parts of East Texas.

Dr Eric Davis & Steven Bassett Part II
Thanks for staying with us everyone what a show we've got going here phenomenon radio live is kicking 2018 off with a powerful foot and before we can begin tonight's interview in the second hour with Steven Bassett of the paradigm research group it's time for the news and it's brought to us all by Earthfiles.com here's Linda Moulton Howe
Linda: Thank you race a few minutes after midnight on Sunday January 7, 2018, according to the video time stamp on a security camera an explosion of light filled the entire sky along with a loud boom sound and it was caught on security cameras and others at the same time that
the ground shook and this is a quote from the Siberian Times in Russia over thousands of miles in Russia close quote. The geographic focus with the most intensity seemed to be in the Ural Mountains between Eastern Europe and West Siberia. Some people were afraid it was a nuclear strike against North Korea by the United States but the UK Mail reported that quote Russian officials and scientists immediately denied that there had been a Russian missile test or any reported space rock crashing to earth close quote.
So they dismissed the idea of a bolide and a meteorite perhaps because of the words that this occurred in Russia on Sunday night January 7th over more than a thousand miles Russian leader Vladimir Putin also denied that there were any military tests that could have caused this bright sky filling light flash boom and ground shaking over such a large region others worried that it was a UFO coming in from outer space or a meteor exploding in the atmosphere as happened in Chelyabinsk in Russia when a 20 metre diameter large bolide entered theEarth's atmosphere on February 15 2013 that came in with the speed of about 40,000 miles an hour over the southern Ural region and exploded in the air with a bright flash of light scientists said that was the largest known natural object to enter the Earth's atmosphere since the 1918 Tunguska event which destroyed a large forested area of Siberia in Chelyabinsk in February 2013.
Some 1,500 people were injured but no one was killed the Daily Mail in the Siberian Times reported that astronomers from Kazan Federal University in Tardes Tan concluded that the loud boom sound in spite of the earlier denials from the federal government that they concluded that the bright flash of light meant that it had to be a large bolide that burned up in the atmosphere but they didn't get a single data point on any of their instruments about any of it the scientists argued that they didn't see or record anything of this huge light flash and the ground shaking and the boom because quote there was a strong blizzard on the early morning of January 7th 2018 close quote where they have the Kazan Federal University without addressing the fact that it was reported more than a thousand miles and whatever happened in Russia on Sunday night after midnight that it was so astonishing and that many people have said there was no weather there was no thunder and no lightning in some of the towns and villages where there were security cameras that caught this big bright flash perhaps it was a large meteorite hitting the atmosphere as some scientists argue but so far the bright sky feeling light over thousands of miles is still a weird mystery.
