Unexpected Visitor from Saipan!
We had an unexpected visit from Pastor Ray Kinsella from Saipan, CNMI and Ferdie Guinto. Saipan is a small island in the Pacific near Guam. We had the opportunity to show him around the farm and some of what we do in our business. We are very grateful that he was able to come by and that we could reconnect. We also laughed alot! Thank you for visiting us all the way from SAIPAN.

Tell Crayola to make it Saipan Blue ( KSPN2 News on Saipan TV!)
For the first time in its 132 year history, Crayola is retiring a color (Dandelion) from its 24-pack of crayons, and is replacing it with something in the blue family! The company is launching a campaign in MAY 2017 to have the public choose a name!
The goal of OUR campaign, starting with this petition to Crayola (with whom I'm in contact, and received several emails), is to launch and crowdfund an all out publicity effort to convince them to MAKE IT SAIPAN BLUE! and/or to add us to the ballot for a public vote! Then, companies like Pantone, paint companies like Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore, car manufacturers, and other color makers will be next! Here's how it was covered on Saipan's KSPN2 Nightly News broadcast!

Saipan TV Interview #1-July 6, 2018
When I'm not on one of my Jamaican in China...and beyond adventures, you'll find me on the island of Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands enjoying my freedom, writing books, running on the beach, taking visitors on an occasional tour, and doing workshops to help others turn their passions into profit and become published authors. This is a video of an interview I did on Saipan's KSPN2 News about a writer's workshop on the island of Tinian (the first of its kind). Interviewer is anchor man, Bob Coldeen, himself a Saipan writer!

WATCH! Saipan Green Flash
Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. When the conditions are just right, and the horizon is clear, you can see a distinctive green flash right above the top of the sun just as it disappears from view.
Here is a clip of Jamaican on Saipan, Walt Goodridge, along with long-time resident Joe Hill catching a glimpse of the Saipan green flash!
[from the Saipan Tribune:] The Japanese movie Green Flash filmed on Saipan last Nov. 22-23, 2013. The movie, set to premiere in April 2014, is about three university students working at Karoake Box in Tokyo who travel to the Pacific in search of happiness and the green flash natural phenomenon.
Actor Yuya Miyagaki and actress Yui Ishikawa were on Saipan for the shoot. The movie is sponsored by the largest karaoke franchise in Japan, Daiichi Kosho Co., Ltd., and supported by convenience store franchisor Lawson Inc. ...While on Saipan the crew filmed at the Japanese-era lighthouse on Navy Hill, Jonny's Bar & Grill, Paseo de Marianas pedestrian mall, Saipan Beach Pathway, and Wing Beach. Typhoon Soudelor drive through Saipan: San Jose Mart to Payless
On the night of Sunday, August 2, 2015, Typhoon Soudelor made landfall on the island of Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Though officially recorded as a Category 5-equivalent super typhoon,” speculation continues that Soudelor’s winds far exceeded this category. Cars and even trucks were overturned, and it was later discovered that the wind speed recording equipment was destroyed during the storm; the highest speed recorded before the failure was 180 miles per hour. At the time, it was the most powerful storm to make landfall....ever…anywhere that year.
The eye of a storm is a roughly circular region of mostly calm weather, typically 30–65 km (20–40 miles) in diameter, located at the center of strong tropical cyclones. It is surrounded by the eyewall, a ring of towering thunderstorms where the most severe weather occurs. Soudelor’s core—the eye and eyewall—was smaller than the island. That's why the devastation on Saipan was so intense, and why the neighboring island of Tinian, only two miles away, was virtually untouched by the storm. Here is a drive through a section of Saipan several weeks after the storm
ADDITIONAL: Riza Ramos, her husband Ferdinand, and two children survived the devastation of that typhoon at point during which they were actually outside and unsheltered. Riza's book--co-authored by me, is title Drinking Seawater: Check it out here:
