One Hundred Eighty-Eighth Episode: Wakatakeya Sake Brewery Festival in Tanushimaru
We went back to my old stomping grounds last Sunday for a Sake festival in Tanushimaru so Kumiko could get some Amazake that she loves and I got happy! :) For a couple reasons! :)
If you want to send something and maybe get a postcard back you can send things to
Mark Visser
Mamada Kani Yubinkyoku Dome
Mamada 1075-1
Chikugo City
Fukuoka Prefecture
Japan
833-0023
But absolutely let me know if something is coming since the post office will only hold things for me for one week before sending them back, or possibly disposing of them.

One Hundred Twenty Seventh Episode: The Sake Brewery Where the Sakura Bloom - A Second Visit to Hiyokutsuru
My while family went with me to Hiyokutsuru because the Sake Brewery looks very pretty in pink when the Sakura are all blooming! I meant to just do a video about the Sakura at the brewery, but it turned into another tour video because I got to see several things I didn't see last time! Everyone had a great time!
Thank you so much Hiyokutsuru!
And sorry this video is so late, since Sakura season is well over all ready! It was just too big an edit to do during VEDA!

One Hundred Fifth Episode: Ranting About the Government
When the government in Japan changes laws, they don't make enough effort to tell people about those changes in my opinion! I just felt like ranting I guess :)

PART ONE:
I was lucky enough to be invited along to Rikuzentakta in Iwate Prefecture to see how much the town has grown since the earthquake in 2011. This town was so lovely, with such kind and friendly people, as you'll soon see over the next few videos.
Don't forget to give me a thumbs up if you'd like to see more like this!

Sake Festival
Sake Festival!!! Yes, a day where you can go around a try out different sake all for 500 yen. Cheap right!?!?!
So as I mention numerous times in the video, I DO NOT encourage drinking. It's not something to be taken lightly. It can be serious.
Now that's been said, it was definitely a new cultural experience for me and I thoroughly enjoyed myself :) The food was also very tasty xD
Kitsuki City - Strolling around a samurai town wearing a Kimono
The city of Kitsuki (杵築) is located on the southern side of the Kunisaki Peninsula. The city center is sometimes referred to as a sandwich castle town, because of its interesting topography of having two samurai districts on hills north and south respectively, sandwiching a commercial district in the middle. The districts combined measure about 500 meters north-south and 1.5 kilometers east-west, with Kitsuki Castle standing at the eastern end, close to the coast facing the Seto Inland Sea.
Successful efforts have been made to keep these historic districts free of distractions such as power lines and unsightly signs, thus preserving their authentic atmospheres. The beautiful town features multiple photogenic slopes and samurai residences that are open to the public. Amiable locals look forward to engage with visitors, making it a friendly environment for tourists.
A combination ticket for 800 yen provides admission to all of them. At Warakuan near the Historical Museum, visitors can rent kimono for around 3000 yen, dress in them and stroll the quaint town, taking pictures reminiscent of past centuries.
