Salzburg Perfect Day
Salzburg, Austria, a perfect day includes the castle, walking the narrow lanes, enjoying great views from Kapuzinerberg and Monchsberg hills, have a beer and sausage and visit Mirabell Gardens. The center of town is given over to pedestrians, so you can have a good look around by simply walking. Wear comfortable shoes! There is certainly a lot of interesting history you may absorb here, with visits to museums, castles and palaces, but it is the ambience of the town itself that is most attractive -- the lanes, courtyards, shops, gardens and little squares are the most rewarding part of the Salzburg experience.
Salzburg and Surroundings
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | The birthplace of Mozart — and everyone's Sound of Music fantasies — Salzburg is a Baroque jewel of a town. It's also the springboard for lots of alpine fun — from thrilling summer bobsledding, to idyllic boat rides in the Salzkammergut lake district, to exploring the delightful romantic town of Hallstatt.

Mozart, Sound of Music, lederhosen, history--Salzburg is as historic as it is charming. Even though this city is steeped in the past, it is wonderful to explore today with all its shops, breweries, gardens, castles, fortresses, music and beautiful hotels. I've been twice and I know I will return!
Salzburg City Guide - Austria Best City - Travel & Discover
Salzburg's Old Town (Altstadt) is internationally renowned for its baroque architecture and is one of the best-preserved city centers north of the Alps. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The city has three universities and a large population of students. Salzburg, Austria: Steeped in History

Salzburg, Austria - Unravel Travel TV
Salzburg is the main gateway to the ski resorts in Austria but it doesn't just have to be a place to fly in and out of. Its alpine setting and baroque architecture mean it's a stunning place to walk around and its steeped in history from Mozart to the sound of music.
As Austria's fourth largest city it is undeniably touristy and theatrical but its original beauty has to be admired from the splendour of the castle on the hill the slender spires that crowd the skyline. This is a city where kitsch and class walk hand in hand. If sound of music is just itching to get out, you can embark on a cycle tour of the movie's sights; if Wolfgang is more your cup of tea, join the well-heeled crowd at the opera to hear the maestro's symphonies. For a romantic tour of the city take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the cobbled centre. In Salzburg embracing the clichés is positively encouraged. And why not? It's fun.
Shopping and this city go hand in hand. From designer outlets to shopping streets like this one, you can be sure to find all sorts of things from ski accessories to crystal jewellery.
Walking down the Linzer Gasse you can reach the most famous shopping mile of Salzburg in just a few minutes: The Getreidegasse is famous throughout the world because of its unique wrought-iron signs. Fabulous boutiques, gift shops, international fashion stores, perfumeries, shoe shops, jewellers and antique shops sell their wares in the Getreidegasse. In bygone days the passageways through the buildings were used to get to the river Salzach and the water quickly -- today there are numerous small shops located in the passage -- for example the jewellery passage or the treasure passage. All famous and big labels from Louis Vuitton to Prada and from Swarovski to Gucci are represented in this shopping area.
Eating out in Salzburg is as eclectic as the shopping scene. From café culture to fine dining and casual eateries, Salzburg is also home to the oldest restaurant in Europe. Stift- skeller St Peter has been around since 803 and here you can dine at this historical venue while listening to the music of Mozart. Many visitors book a three course candlelit dinner, prepared as it would have been in the 17th and 18th centuries, while local opera singers and musicians perform some of Mozart's finest work.
Christmas markets are an integral part of Salzburgs winter calendar and it's a chance for tourists to mingle with locals, browse through the stalls and enjoy gluwein and other local delicacies.
The first christkindl market was held here in the 15th century and today you will find over 85 stalls on the Domplatz and Residentzplatz. The wooden stalls huddle together and the smell of mulled wine, bratwurst sausages and roast pork draw you to the markets. Warm drinks such as kinderpunch, mulled wine and hot chocolate will keep you warm as you stroll around the stalls. The purchases on offer are diverse from candles and Christmas decorations to toys made of wood which make perfect presents for children. If you are in search of culinary treats, there are stalls selling home made bars of chocolates while others sell famous fruit cakes which you can taste before you buy.

CRAZY AUSTRIA EXPERIENCE! (Salzburg, Hallstatt & Vienna) | #EUnemployed2017
Sorry for the crazy ass editing at the first part! Those Salzburg clips were so long (and kinda boring lmao I sucked [more] - at taking videos - about five months ago wahahahhaa).
------------------------------
We are such weirdos (we're proud & we love it, hahahahaha!)
So we had a good week in Austria! We first went to Salzburg, and then took a day trip to Hallstatt--the salt town, is what it's called, I think? And we got on the wrong train AGAIN going to Hallstatt LMAO.
Anyway, both cities/towns were really awesome, though! Very rich in history and culture. Especially Hallstatt, which was really small, there's a lot of Austrian realness in that small town hahahha (really suck at giving describing stuff, I should work on this more!)
Actually I think the whole of Europe has LOOOOOOOTS of history and culture, or whutevah.. but I think you get what I'm trying to say? I mean, Mozart was born in Salzburg so that's something! And then The Sound of Music was shot in a lot of locations throughout Salzburg---history, arts & culture!!! HAHA
Anyway, Vienna is really beautiful as well!!!! Like... really awesome. I wish we stayed longer! (Now I know... one month isn't enough to explore at least eight countries and tens of cities!) There were beautiful castles, gardens, and museums.. lots of other places we weren't able to check out.
BUT DAMN. Real crazy week in Austria. There's other clips that I couldn't put in here, some of them I lost (lol), some I just shouldn't have filmed, but DAMN. (HAHAHAHA YA FEEL???) Although I feel like you guys would think the title and the video don't match, trust me, they do.. there's just some stuff that you can't put online, YA FEEL? But it was crazy in terms of how many times we got lost, the things we did, encounters we got into and all that crap-a-doo, lmao.
It's been real, Österreich! Will definitely come back--soon, hopefully.

A DAY IN SALZBURG, AUSTRIA (EUROPE ROAD TRIP VLOG #9)
ROAD TRIP VLOG || SALZBURG || AUSTRIA
We didn't have the best weather for our day in Salzburg but we made the most of it and even enjoyed the April Snow. After checking out some of the different sites of the town we got the funicular up the hill and looked around the fortress, which had a load of interesting information on the military history of the area. The girls decided to stay in town as the rain picked up but I elected to return back to the hostel.
Thanks for watching and please let me know what you thought down in the comments. Big Love X
