Had a wonderful stay at the beautiful Sam Houston Jones State Park, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Large paved lots with plenty of shade. A very nice park and we will definitely stay there again. If you like water and nature you will love this Park. Met a heck of a nice guy named Chris who is traveling the country on is Harley and towing his camping gear with him. He even bought one of my All American hand made pipes from me, so we definitely had to set back and enjoy a good smoke at the camp site. EXPLORING LAKE CHARLES, LA | Things to do in Lake Charles
???? TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS ???? so you never miss a video! It's going to be awesome! - EXPLORING SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA [Lake Charles, LA] - We took a 2 day family road trip to west Louisiana to explore Lake Charles and Ragley.
We started this family adventure by going to Sam Houston Jones State Park in Louisiana. We went for a family hike on one of the trails.
After hiking, we ate some dinner and then drove north to Ragley, LA because my uncle lives there and he has an RV on his property that he let us camp in for the night.
The next morning we woke up and said goodbye to my uncle's dogs and we headed back to Lake Charles. We stopped at Millennium Park in downtown Lake Charles. We played on the HUGE playground that they had there for a while.
After playing at the city park, we decided to check out the USS Orleck, which is an old navy ship that has been commissioned and is now a museum on the lake, Lake Charles.
After exploring the old navy ship, we went to Charleston's for a bite to eat before heading back to Lafayette.

This wildlife reserve consists of 6400 acres of hilly forests and low swampy areas ready to explore and view different species of wildlife. We love to visit this park often due to close distance to our home, but we experience new things every time we visit. Chicot State Park is one of the older state parks in Louisiana and was added to the park system in 1939. This is a very well kept, updated park that continues to exceed our expectations and provides awesome adventures. Join us in exploring Chicot State Park.

Lake Charles State Park is a 140-acre (57 ha) Arkansas state park in Lawrence County, Arkansas in the United States. Situated in The Ozarks along the Black River, the park features the 645-acre (261 ha) artificial Lake Charles. The lake is a result of a partnership of four agencies to construct a multipurpose lake just north of Shirey Bay Rainey Brake Wildlife Management Area in an effort to control flooding and preserve the watershed. Construction on the lake began in 1964, and the park was dedicated in 1967.

Had a nice stay at Chicot State Park, Ville Platte, Louisiana. Lots of water and beautiful board walks for fishing. Lots off large camping spots with plenty of room, one we will definitely stay at again.

Fort Jesup
ort Jesup State Historic Site is located off LA 6 at 32 Geoghagan Road, six miles east of Many in Sabine Parish.
Originally called Cantonment Jesup, the site was selected by Zachary Taylor in 1822 and the fort existed for 26 years as one of the strongest garrisons in Louisiana.
Located on the historic San Antonio Road, the fort was once a large complex of 82 structures. Four companies of the Seventh U.S. Infantry made up the first garrison of Fort Jesup; there were 141 officers and men.
This site features the original kitchen/mess building and a reconstructed officers' quarters that houses visitor information, a gift shop, interpretive exhibits and restrooms. Facilities also include a museum and picnic area. Guided tours and frontier skills demonstrations are offered daily. In 1961, Fort Jesup SHS was designated a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Admission: $2/person; free for Seniors (62 and over) and children 12 and under.
Hours of Operation: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Grand Ecore RV Park - Grand Opening
Ecore is French for bluff, which is what our beautiful location is known for. Near our RV Park is our large, 80-foot high bluff that towers over the Red River.
Our RV Park is located next to the Grand Ecore Recreation Area, which opened in 2004. Since we are located on Bayou Pierre, there is plenty to see from either the shore or on your boat.
