Overlanding in The San Bernardino National Forest
This is the last video from a trip where we traveled from Anza-Borrego to Idyllwild in California. We managed to encounter a lot of different types of weather in our overlanding experience, which is pretty rare for California.
However, even though there were some challenging conditions, we ended up having a great time and got to enjoy the wilderness, the way we like to do.
There was a fair amount of rain in the San Bernardino national forest, and the campsite we found was very sandy, so we also got to conduct some experiments getting stuck and recovering our vehicles. Enjoy!
Hiking San Bernardino Peak from Angelus Oaks in Southern California
San Bernardino Peak is a great but difficult hike in San Bernardino Mountain Range and the San Gorgonio Wilderness. This hike is 16.5 miles round trip and it gains 4,500 feet of elevation. It is a difficult hike and not one that should be done without proper training. The peak provides amazing views of the surrounding area and it is a beautiful Southern California trail.

Hot Springs in San Bernadino National Forest, California USA
...If you like hot springs that are tucked away in nature you can join me in this (super dorky experimental video I took of myself with a $20 camera off ebay). In this short 3 min. video I take a walk through the San Bernadino National forest to some hidden and remote Hot Spring pools. The river is ice cold but the floor of the river bed is hot! There are several pools with different temperatures situated within the Rocks surrounding the area. More from my blog here
Mining Camp From The Early 1900's - San Bernardino National Forest
Matt and I headed out on black friday for a quick hike in the local mountains. We went in search of an old mining camp from the 1900's which we were able to find. This old mining camp was mining Marble out of the side of the mountain and supplying LA. It operated from 1901 to 1931. At one point over 1000 people lived in this area.
