San Clemente: A Trail by the Rails
To sum up San Clemente's coast in numbers, you would list its two accessible train stations, the 2.3 miles of beautifully constructed trail, and 11 -- yes, 11 -- beaches. And, of course, there's more to come for this Spanish village by the sea, as its slogan goes.
The city is currently moving forward with plans to extend the trail in both directions. Heading south, it will expand from Calafia Beach to San Clemente State Beach. Northbound travelers will be able to continue past North Beach to the city of Dana Point.

Shut San Onofre Public Hearing San Clemente CA May 17, 2011
Video of ALL activists who spoke against San Onofre at the public hearing held in San Clemente, California on May 17th, 2011 before the mayor and council members. Comments have been condensed into a 13-minute tour-de-force of experts, moms, dads, a wonderful young child, several cancer victims (myself included), and others who want San Onofre shut down FOREVER -- before it melts down (the expensive way to close a nuke).
Note (added 6/6/11): The wall being knocked down here is a breakwater, not a tsunami sea wall. The sea wall was overwhelmed, of course, but that's a breakwater. Of course, it's supposed to withstand these waves though, too!
Many thanks to everyone who attended the hearings: Elected officials, activists, San Onofre employees police, informants and one pro-nuker who spoke to no applause whatsoever and said nothing of substance other than that the reason our air in SoCal is so clean (cough cough) is because of San Onofre.
