DJ A-Bomb recently got into riding bicycles. Decided to take a nice day trip from Monterey Park to Seal Beach along the river trails.
San Gabriel River Bike Trail Ride - Azusa to Seal Beach 38 miles end to end
Me and my mom rode our bikes along the San Gabriel River Bike Trail in Southern California for Mother's Day. We started our ride in Azusa where the trail begins (or ends) at the the San Gabriel Mountains and rode 38 miles west to the end in Seal Beach. We rode at a comfortable pace and got there in 3 hours and 20 minutes. We had an average pace of 11.4 mph. It was a really beautiful ride. There were some homeless encampments under some of the overpasses, but no one bothered us. We didn't hit any headwinds until we were approaching Lakewood (about 8 miles until the end) It wasn't that bad, but it was noticeable nonetheless. I would definitely do this again! Now we can say that we biked from the mountains to the sea!

Longest bike ride I have been on since I was about eighteen or nineteen. Harder than I thought. Apparently clocking over 60 miles is kinda challenging, especially after a killer leg workout. Who would have thought.
04/06/13 Bayshore to San Gabriel River Bike Trail
2 weekends before our big race at the ITU World Triathlon San Diego. We started our training session with swim, followed by a bike ride, and then finished with a 5k run along the beach.
This video does not show the swim and run portions of our training. A few highlights: Abe swam in the open-water without a wetsuit and Eric rode 14+ miles on his new bike for the first time!
