Riva del Garda is a town and comune in the northern Italian province of Trento of the Trentino Alto Adige region. It is also known simply as Riva. People from Riva are known as Rivani.
Lake Garda, (Lago di Garda), is an important tourist area in the shadow of the Dolomite mountains in Northern Italy. At just over 50 km long it is the largest lake in Italy and at its deepest point has a depth of 350 m. The northern part of the lake was part of Austria until the end of WW1, with the whole of the lake being Austrian territory prior to the unification Of Italy in 1870.
Alot to see in ( Riva Del Garda - Italy ) such as :
The Museo Civico is located in the Rocca, a medieval fortress with quadrangular bastions, placed on the lake, bounded by a canal with drawbridge. It was the fortress of the noble family Scaligeri (1124), who became the Lords of Verona. It was rebuilt several times and it was used by the Austrians as barracks in the 18th century. It is frequently the seat of cultural activities, especially during the summer months.
The medieval belfry Torre Apponale was first mentioned in 1273, but is probably older. It belonged to the first fortress of Riva, that no longer exists. Modifications were made in 1555 and it was raised to 34 metres (112 ft). The Piazza III Novembre is situated between the belfry and the harbour. The city hall comprises the Palazzo Pretorio from 1375 (the former cantonal courthouse) and the Palazzo del Provveditore (the governor's palace), built between 1472 and 1485.
The city gates Porta San Marco (11th century), built by the Venetians, and Porta San Michele (13th century), at the Piazza Cavour, are remnants of the medieval city walls. The Porta San Michele has a small battlemented belfry for the parochial church of Maria Assunta. This church was originally a romanesque-gothic building from the 14th century (attested by a medieval relief at its southern side), but was rebuilt in baroque style in 1728. It has a single nave and nine baroque altars. The altarpieces were made by local artists, such as Ignazio Martino Oliari da Riva, Giuseppe Craffonara da Riva and Giovanni Caliari da Verona. The fresco in the dome is by the baroque painter Giuseppe Alberti (1664–1730).
The church Chiesa dell'Inviolata, dominating the Largo Marconi, is considered among the most beautiful baroque churches in Trentino. It is an octagonal building with the belfry next to it. It contains the altarpieces San Carlo Borromeo and San Gerolamo by the Mannerist painter Palma il Giovane. In the middle of the octagonal dome is a Baroque fresco The coronation of Maria in Heaven.

LAKE GARDA - RIVA DEL GARDA
MY JOURNEY TO RIVA DEL GARDA BEGINS FROM 3RD OF NOVEMBER SQUARE, ONCE SIMPLY CALLED “PUBLIC SQUARE”. IT WAS THE ECONOMIC HEART OF RIVA DEL GARDA, DURING THE NAPOLEONIC ERA ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SQUARES IN THE REGION, WITH MANY SHOPS AND WORKSHOPS UNDER ITS PORCHES, THAT TODAY ARE HOTELS, BARS AND RESTAURANTS.
THE APPONALE TOWER WAS BUILT IN THE EARLY TWELVE HUNDREDS TO MONITOR THE PORT OF RIVA DEL GARDA. WITH ITS THICK WALLS IT WAS A GUARANTEE AGAINST ASSAULTS, LATER IT BECAME A PRISON AND IN RECENT YEARS IT HOSTED AN ELEGANT COFFE BAR.
THE OLD TOWN OF RIVA DEL GARDA, WITH ITS MANY HOTELS, BARS AND RESTAURANTS IS GATHERED UP WITHIN THE ANCIENT DEFENSIVE WALLS. NOWADAYS WE CAN STILL ADMIRE SAN MARCO GATE, SAN GIUSEPPE GATE AND SAN MICHELE GATE.
THE MAG
THE MAG IS THE MUSEUM OF UPPER LAKE GARDA, WHERE YOU CAN VISIT THE EXHIBIT OF PAINTINGS REALIZED BY THOSE ARTISTS WHO IN THE NINETEENTH CENTURY WERE FASCINATED BY THE LANDSCAPES OF LAKE GARDA. THE MAG ALSO HOSTS AN INTERESTING SECTION DEDICATED TO HISTORY AND ARCHEOLOGY. A SMALLER SEAT OF THE MAG IS LOCATED IN ARCO, IN THE GIOVANNI SEGANTINI GALLERY
REPTILAND
OPENED IN 1989 TO PASS DOWN RESPECT AND CONSERVATION OF NATURE THE RIVA DEL GARDA HERPETOLOGICAL CENTER HOSTS MANY POISONOUS AND CONSTRICTOR SNAKES, SCORPIONS, SPIDERS, BUTTERFLIES AND OTHER INSECTS…VERY INTERESTING IF YOU LIKE THESE ANIMALS...
THE BEAUTIFUL LAKESIDE OF RIVA DEL GARDA BEGINS FROM THE NEW PORT, WITH BOATS MOORED IN FRONT OF AN INTERNATIONAL SAILING CLUB FOUNDED BY GABRIELE D'ANNUNZIO IN 1928, TODAY AN IMPORTANT SAILING SCHOOL.
THE LAKESIDE LEADS TO THE FORTRESS OF SAINT NICOLÒ, AND PROCEEDS UP TO TORBOLE, PASSING BY BEAUTIFUL GARDENS AND CROWDED BEACHES.
SABBIONI BEACH
THE SABBIONI BEACH IN RIVA DEL GARDA IS ONE OF THE LARGEST BEACHES ON THE NORTHERN SHORE OF LAKE GARDA. MADE OF GRAVEL AND GRASS HERE YOU CAN RENT BEACH UMBRELLAS AND SUNBEDS, KAYAKS, AND THE BEACH HAS ALSO A FLOATING PLATFORM WITH AN INNER SWIMMING POOL, BASKETBALL AND BEACH VOLLEY FIELDS AND A PLAYGROUND WITH TRAMPOLINES.
PINI BEACH
THE BEAUTIFUL PINI BEACH IS POPULAR AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE. MADE OF GRAVEL AND GRASS HERE YOU CAN FIND BARS, SUNBEDS AND BEACH UMBRELLAS, A SMALL PLAYGROUND AND FLOATING PLATFORM WITH INTERNAL SWIMMING POOL AND SLIDE. IT IS ALSO FREQUENTED BY SURFERS, SINCE IT HAS AN AREA DEDICATED TO THIS SPORT.
AND OF COURSE ALSO IN THE EVENING RIVA DEL GARDA HAS A LOT TO OFFER TO ITS VISITORS. FROM THE SUNSET RIVA SWITCHES TO A LIVELY CITY WITH THOUSANDS OF TOURISTS IN SEARCH OF FUN AND RELAXATION. MOST OF THE PUBS AND RESTAURANTS ARE IN THE OLD TOWN AND ON THE LAKESIDE, WHERE YOU CAN SIP A DRINK AT THE SUNSET, HAVE DINNER OR HANG OUT UNTIL THE DEAD OF NIGHT IN ONE OF THE MANY BARS, RESTAURANTS AND PUBS OF RIVA DEL GARDA.

Riva del Garda is a resort in northern Italy, on Lake Garda’s northern shore. Strong winds make it a popular windsurfing destination. In a former fortress, MAG Museo Alto Garda has archaeology and history displays, plus a picture gallery with works from the 15th to 19th centuries. Nearby, the medieval Torre Apponale belfry offers lake views. Santa Maria Inviolata is a baroque church with frescoes and stucco works. Riva del Garda is a bustling Italian town which doubles as a tourist resort, located at the northern end of Lake Garda. This is the dramatic end of the lake, with mountains rising on either side, and Riva sits comfortably on the shore, with a backdrop of lake, valley and hills. Until the lakeside road was constructed, Riva was an important port for communications along the lake's length.
Riva has a town museum (Museo Civico) housed in its moated lakeshore castle (or fortress), the Rocca. The museum contains historical exhibits, paintings and also temporary exhibitions, which can be interesting. Alongside this sturdy fortress is a pleasant leafy park. A little tourist 'train' (trenino) starts here and does a very brief circuit of the town for those seeking more entertainment (it was full of merry pensioners when it passed). One of Riva's most striking buildings is the Torre Apponale, a tall clock-tower which dates to the thirteenth century. It looks down on Piazza III Novembre, the heart of town.
The northern end of the lake is incredibly popular with windsurfers, who take advantage of the strong wind systems caused by the mountains and water. Torbole, just along the lakeshore from Riva, is the principal base for windsurfing. In Riva it is possible to hire boats, or, for a less strenuous way of enjoying the water, there is a long beach suitable for sunbathing and swimming. Walkers can enjoy easy walks around town - such as the stroll along the lake towards Torbole - or longer hikes in the mountains around.

Walking in VERONA / Italy - Castel San Pietro to Old Town - 4K 60fps (UHD)
The second walk in Verona if you liked the first one (linked in the video). We start at the Piazzale Castel San Pietro, a great viewing point over the city. We head down from the hill back to Old Town for a walk all around churches and piazzas.
With many side streets Verona keeps being interesting. We head to the house of Juliet and stroll around the centre. The streets are getting a bit quiet during lunch time. In the end we circle around the Verona Arena before heading out of the city through the Portoni della Brà - a city gate.

venice bike trip 2015
Plane to Marco Polo AP, train to Bolzano, bike to Lake Garda, Ferry to Peschiera, Canal boat and bike to Venice.
Venice, Center - Italy 4K Travel Channel
From the landing stage in Punta Sabbioni, we take a regular ferry across the lagoon to Venice. The crossing takes about half an hour.Right at the beginning of the ride, we pass one of the three huge barrages that will protect the lagoon in the future from flooding. Two of the three barrages seem to be working already, the third is obviously still having problems, which hopefully can be eliminated soon.
Behind it is the Forte di Sant'Andrea, a 16th-century fortress. Here, Giacomo Casanova was incarcerated for a few months.
We have a beautiful view of the silhouette of Venice in front of us. First, the island of San Giorgio Maggiore with the monastery of the same name comes into sight. In the background is the church of Santa Maria della Salute, built in 1630, with the request to end the plague.
On the right is the church of Santa Maria della Pietà.On its façade, a huge poster announces the biennial that is taking place. A few meters further on, we see the Doge's Palace, the National Library and, behind it, the Markus Tower.
Since the ninth century, the Doge's Palace has been the seat of the doge and the governing and judicial organs of the Republic of Venice.
Upon arrival by ferry, the canals with their bridges and gondolas quickly captivate us. Of course, the Bridge of Sighs, which connected the Doge's Palace with the new prison.
At the entrance to St. Mark's Square rise the two pillars of San Marco and San Teodoro. The pillar San Marco, which faces the Doge's Palace, carries the Venetian lion, since 862, the patron saint and symbol of the Venetian state.
The huge St. Mark's Square, framed by the museums and St. Mark's Church, is, as expected, crowded with tourists. During the day we noticed that tourists are crowding between St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge. But as soon as you take a few steps into a side street, you are almost alone. We experienced the city 25 years ago and do not have the feeling that it has got much worse (see also the photos on our website, myvideomedia.com).
We leave the square through the gate of the clock tower. The dial of his huge clock is made of lapis lazuli.
Immediately we dive into the narrow lanes that convey a medieval atmosphere. We like the shops with the Venetian masks and the glass objects made of Murano glass.

TRAVELING ITALY IN 6 DAYS | big world LITTLE BRIA
On this episode of big world LITTLE BRIA, we take a trip to the home of pasta, vino and Gladiators - ITALIA!
We kicked off the trip in Rome, visiting classic sites like The Colosseum, The Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel and the Roman Forum. We had our second favorite meal in Rome at Iari the Vino. Great desserts and even better wine! If you're a coffee lover like me, check out La Tazza d'Oro - this is supposedly the spot that inspired the founder of Starbucks to open his own shop.
Onto Florence! This was our favorite city on the trip because it wasn't as crowded and tourist-y as Rome and Venice. When in Florence, of course visit the Duomo and see the David sculpture in La Accademia Gallery. You should also visit the highest point in Florence for amazing views - it's called the Basilica San Miniato al Monte. This is also where the writer of the classic story 'Pinocchio' is buried.
Our last stop was Venice. We were only in Venice for one full day, but this was enough time for us to see Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge and take an overpriced gondola ride... We'd recommend taking a gondola ride right before the sunsets - it wasn't as hot outside and we saw the sunset while on the boat. Beautiful!
For every stop of the trip, we stayed in our own Airbnb apartment. I'd strongly recommend doing so for international travel! This is such a great way to step outside the typical tourist neighborhoods and check out the true local experience. Never stayed in an Airbnb? Here's $40 off your first booking:

Villa Rinaldi | Venice & Veneto | Italy | Oliver's Travels
Built in 1696, this unique masterpiece of late Baroque architecture, adjedent to the beautiful Medieval city of Asolo, is an authentic villa typical of the Veneto region which oozes elegance, sophistication and history. In May of 1987 the Queen Mother enjoyed her lunch at The villa with pastel coloured stuccoes and walls, immersed in lush scents of her favourite flower - the centenary roses!
Set in the rolling, luscious hills of Northern Italy, indeed, in ‘The City of a Hundred Horizons’ famous for its hilltop setting, Villa Rinaldi enjoys a truly spectacular location. At the end of the approach along the winding lane, you arrive at the majestic garden entrance and vast grounds enveloped by an ancient stone wall. An avenue of flowers brings you to the main entrance.
Beyond the threshold, the interior is utterly unique. Enjoying both the character of the traditional, classical décor and the comfort of modern upgrades, each room is a timeless work of art.
In the main building there is a total of three living areas - one small and one larger are on the ground floor plus the grand living room can be found on the first floor. The lounges of Villa Rinaldi are truly spectacular, with remarkable décor, traditional touches and a thoroughly comfortable feel. Despite the classical design, there are multiple modern touches, including WiFi throughout the property. The ornate dining room sits alongside the two ground-floor lounges and offers an exquisite location for a meal with the whole group. The kitchen is also on the ground floor, and exudes a more traditional character, with a large fireplace and wooden furniture. A perfect place for breakfast. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer for your convenience.
Up the first of the staircases, on the first floor, alongside the grand living room, there are two of the seven bedrooms. The pink room has a fabulous set of painted ceiling beams, alongside a delightful wooden dresser and beautiful stucco feature above the bed. The white room has similar stunning features, as well as a charming fitted wardrobe. Both rooms have a seating area and large, traditional windows. The further five bedrooms are found on the second floor. Firstly, there is the master bedroom. Indeed, more like an apartment, this room has several fully stocked bookshelves for your reading pleasure, armchairs, classical wallpaper and a luxurious French-style bed in the centre of it. The en-suite features more interesting tiles and patterns. There are two more single bedrooms, another double and finally one twin room, completing the main building bedrooms. Both single rooms and the double room are simply designed with classical touches. The twin room is more traditional, with wooden furniture and a large desk. It also has an en-suite bathroom with beautiful painted tiles, where the other second-floor rooms share a large family bathroom. The twin bedrooms and double rooms all have air conditioning.
Villa's annexe is set over two floors, with a living area on the ground-floor and a bedroom, bathroom, studio and kitchenette on the second. It is ideal for those seeking a little more privacy, without sacrificing any comfort.
Just as intricate and beautiful as the interior, the exterior facilities of Villa Rinaldi offer all the grandeur of the house itself. The ornate wire gates welcome you into a garden bursting with life. Stone steps and hillside path lead you up to the stunning private pool, adjoined by a changing room with shower and toilet facilities. At 16m x 8m there’s plenty of room for everyone to join the fun, and even for a few morning laps before an al fresco breakfast on the terrace!
Dotted with flowers, avenues and sculptures you can truly lose yourself among the olive trees and the rosebushes, dine under the stars at the traditional stone table, or simply sip a glass of local prosecco on one of the many terraces in the array of fantastic chairs and sofas.
With your very own potting shed, expansive lawn and terraces and of course, the beautiful pool, you’ll feel right at home and thoroughly entertained throughout your stay. There’s even a chapel on site!
Despite enjoying such a privileged position clad in the hillside, Villa Rinaldi is in fact just a stone's throw away from the centre of Asolo and in a beautiful part of Italy for experiencing all kinds of food, music and history.

European Family Tour. Day 8: Grado, Venice, Lago di Garda in Italy
Day 8 started in the gorgeous pink villa in the town of Grada on the shore of the Adriatic Sea in Italy. We went to the beach (most beaches ask for a fee to enter), took a swim in the sea, did some sea-side shopping, ate a pizza at a local pizzeria and drove off to Venice.
The magical Venice is actually pretty big. Se we all got really tired walking around in circles when trying to make it to St. Marco Square. But we finally made it and even the greatparents said that it was worth the walk :)
After finding our way back to the car we drove to our finaly destination in Italy - a camping site on the shore of Lago di Garda. We finally got there at night, right before the gate was closed for the night.
We anxiously for the next morning to come, so we could jump in the lake. See the next video for images of Lago di Garda.
