California Bail Reform Act of 2017 and Santa Barbara County
When an individual is arrested for a serious offense they have two options: post bail or stay in custody, awaiting a court date.
That could be changing, however, as a result of the California Bail Reform Act of 2017, which would require counties to develop supervised pretrial release programs and a pretrial services division that assesses risk factors prior to release.
Low-grade offenders have been released under alternative programs for some time in California to reduce jail overcrowding. But the reform act -- comprised of identical bills AB42 and SB10 -- would require county courts to start placing some inmates charged with serious offenses on supervised pretrial release.

Santa Barbara Courthouse
The Santa Barbara Courthouse has been called the most beautiful government building in America. Designed by William Mooser III, the Spanish-Moorish style building was completed in 1929, after the 1925 earthquake ruined much of the city. It occupies a square block in downtown Santa Barbara. Gardens and lawns surround this working courthouse. Visitors can ride an elevator to the 85-foot El Mirador clock tower for unforgettable views of the city, coast and mountains. Other attractions include the Mural Room, Spirit of the Ocean fountain, noteworthy architecture and ornate tile work throughout the building.

Knapp's Castle Santa Barbara, CA Walkthrough
Today I took a small hike up to Knapp's Castle and had a look around. This is a really unique place and it is a short hike for pretty much anyone. I shot the video using the #Kodak #PixPro360 and my #iPhone6plus with the #indiesolo smartphone stabilizer from #gripgear. Hope you enjoy my video and please head over to my website and enter your email address so you stay up to date on everything that I am working on. Stay tuned as there is a lot of cool new videos coming soon!
Here is some info and history from Wiki:
George Owen Knapp, founder of Union Carbide, built Knapp's Castle shortly after purchasing the 160-acre (0.65 km2) parcel in 1916. In 1940, Frances Holden bought the property and invited her friend, world-famous opera singer Lotte Lehmann, to move in. The mansion was destroyed by a forest fire only five weeks later, and now only the massive sandstone foundations, fireplace pillars and walls of the original seven structures remain intact. The parcel is still privately owned but open to the public.
In January 2011, the site was undergoing new construction by the property owner, with a stone amphitheatre-style addition, some reinforcements, and other work. The county ordered a stop to the construction due to a lack of permits, but the construction equipment remains on site.
