The Southern California Coast shot by Tampa Aerial Media
We feature Pacific Beach, Torrey Pines Golf Course, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and Santa Barbara in this video of the Southern California Coast.
Pacific Beach in San Diego is bordered by La Jolla to the north, and Mission Bay to the south. The boardwalk, a pedestrian walkway that runs approximately 3.2 miles along the beach from the end of Law St. in the north down into Mission Beach. There are numerous local shops, bars, hotels, and restaurants along the boardwalk, and it is generally crowded with pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers, and shoppers. For more info see
A fly over Torrey Pines Golf Course provides an amazing view of the rich greens overlooking the rocky cliffs of the Pacific Ocean.
Newport Beach, is known for its large, boat-filled harbor as you see on this video. It has become a popular tourist destination with its wine tastings and sunset crusises. For more info see
Huntington Beach located in Orange County is known for its long 9.5-mile stretch of sandy beach, mild climate, excellent surfing, and beach culture. The ocean waves are enhanced by a natural effect caused by the edge-diffraction of open ocean swells around Santa Catalina Island. Swells generated predominantly from the North Pacific in winter and from a combination of Southern Hemisphere storms and hurricanes in the summer focus on Huntington Beach, creating consistent surf all year long.
Santa Barbara is a city on the central California coast, with the Santa Ynez Mountains as dramatic backdrop. Downtown, Mediterranean-style white stucco buildings with red-tile roofs reflect the city’s Spanish colonial heritage.

California 101: Santa Barbara: 5 Amazing Things
Blessed with near-perfect weather, graceful palm trees, ocean-to-table eateries, and gentle Pacific breezes, Santa Barbara has earned its nickname as “the American Riviera.” Fronted by azure waves and backed by the soaring Santa Ynez Mountains, the city’s lovely downtown is a medley of sun-dappled tiles and white stucco walls draped with rosy bougainvillea that never seems to stop blooming. Santa Barbara Helicopter Tour
Santa Barbara Helicopter Tour
The 'Adventurer' flight departs from the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) in Goleta, California. The air journey begins at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB). It turns up the Pacific coast at the Campus Point towards Isla Vista, a student community. It follows along the coast over the Ellwood offshore oil field, Sandpiper golf course and Bacara Spa Resort. Flying outside the developed city boundaries reveals vistas of many cultivated agriculture ranches and orchards along the 101 (1) Pacific Coastal Highway.
At the Refugio State beach the tour turns North, away from the coast and into the continental mountain ranges. Breathtaking rock formations of twists and folds lead to Ronald Reagan's Rancho Del Cielo that is located towards the top of the range. Getting over the ridge reveals colorful and beautiful Solvang and Santa Ynez Valley.
From here the path bends to the east towards Lake Cachuma, a wilderness area in the San Rafael mountains. For about 10 next minutes the ride is pure mountain views of the wild back country - the Los Padres National Forest. With Gibraltar reservoir in sight the tour crosses the Camino Cielo Road into the foothills of Montecito and continues over many beautiful estates and golf courses. On a clear day, nearby cities of Ventura and Oxnard can be seen down the coast, which we happen to miss due to the ocean mist.
By now we are in Summerland, an area where the world's first offshore oil well was drilled into the ocean floor. From here the path turns up the coast passing by the Coral Casino, the Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel, Montecito Country Club, Bird Refuge Lake and Cemetery. The flight continues parallel to the Cabrillo Boulevard, home to the east beach volleyball courts, the Fess Parker Hilton Resort, Wharf Pier, the Boat Harbor and the Yacht Club, City College, Leadbetter beach and Mesa Shoreline park. In the distant right are the downtown Santa Barbara, the Mission and the coastal American Riviera.
At the Arroyo Burro Beach, also called Hendry's by the locals, we fly next to the Hope Ranch estates, turning North at Cliff Drive and Las Positas Road, flying towards Earl Warren Showgrounds and the Santa Barbara Municipal Golf Course.
From here we are on the final stretch headed for the airport over the Highway 101, where La Cumbre Plaza, Laguna Blanca lake and San Marcos High are seen.
Many many thanks to captain Taylor Nancarrow for an awesome 45-minute aerial Santa Barbara area tour on a brand new Robinson R44 Raven I chopper. Absolutely loved it, loved it, loved it!

Santa Ynez View From Above

Bike ride from UCSB library to Santa Ynez apartments (goes through Isla Vista)
DETAILED REVIEW OF SANTA YNEZ w/ photos:
Also, sorry the video is pretty shaky! It was challenging to keep still when riding over a few rugged breaks and bumps in the bike path.
I filmed this while riding my bike from the UCSB Davidson library to Santa Ynez apartments on Sunday, March 31st, the final day of Spring Break. There are multiple routes to get to Santa Ynez. In this video, I ride along a major bike path on campus, through Isla Vista, and past San Clemente Village apartments.
In this video, I take almost eight minutes to get to Santa Ynez. This is only because I was riding slowly to try and film as steadily as possible. In reality, I could get from the library to Santa Ynez in five or six minutes, on my beach cruiser. If you have a road bike, it will take even significantly less time.
The Santa Ynez Apartment Complex is conveniently located between the main campus and Isla Vista, and is accessible via bus or off-street bike path. It is home to 800 3rd and 4th year students in 200 two-bedroom apartments. Santa Ynez has wonderful views of the mountains, BBQ areas throughout the complex, and many open spaces for playing and studying.

Montecito Estate
GlobalTravelRentals.com - created by Gideon Joffe.
Soaring above Montecito Valley behind its infinity edge pool is the 4-bedroom, 6-bath home.
The sensual experience of water, from the view across it suggesting flight, to the master bathtub and the shower open to the pool and view, to an alternate tub filler spout in the ceiling is central to the design. Once the house is entered, the glass walls disappear, opening the interior to the pool and view. The copper roofs float above like wings.
