Teneriffa: Wanderung von Santiago del Teide nach Masca
Beschreibung:
Wir fahren in den Westen der Insel zu einer Wanderung über die Cumbre de Bolico, die Wetterscheide zwischen dem feuchten Norden und dem trockenen Süden. Unser Startpunkt ist die Ortschaft Santiano del Teide.
Wir wechseln die Straßenseite und folgen dem Trampel-Pfad an der Straße entlang. Dann, nach 5 Min, macht die Straße einen rechts Knick, hier zweigt der Wanderweg TF 56, mit einer weiß-gelben Markierung, nach links zur Degollada de la Mesa ab. Der schöne Camino führt am Rande eines Kiefernwaldes bergan und trifft nach ½ Std auf einen Forstweg.
Nach dem Erreichen des Forstwegs geht es weiter bergan. Nun folgen wir der Beschilderung TF 51/56 hinauf zur Degollada de la Mesa. Wir erreichen den Bergsattel nach guten 10 Min. Vor uns tut sich ein Grandioser Blick über das Teno - Gebirge auf bis hin Gomera. Mit einem Blick zurück sehen wir den mit Wolken umringten Pico del Teide.
Wir folgen dem nach rechts weiterführenden Hauptweg, der gemütlich durch den Hang verläuft und erste Einblicke in das Mascatal eröffnet. Der Weg führt über einen großen Dreschplatz und einem verfallenen Anwesen vorbei. Nun wechselt der Cumbre über den Tabaiba-Pass auf die östliche Seite des Kamms in Richtung Teno Alto. Der leicht absenkende Pfad führt uns nun durch einen herrlichen Nebelwald mit Kanadischen Glockenblumen, zudem bietet er Schutz vor dem Wind.
Die nächste große Kammerhebung wird nach rechts umgangen. Schließlich erreichen wir eine große Wegekreuzung auf der Cumbre del Carrizal. Hier verlassen wir den Kammweg, und folgen der TF 59, die scharf nach links in Richtung Masca abzweigt.
Der Weg führt nach wenigen Min. auf eine aussichtsreiche Felsnase, mit Blick auf Los Carrizales und dem gleichnamigen Barranco zu. Der weitere Weg senkt sich ganz allmählich auf Cruz de Hilda ab. Der weitere Weg führt vom Mirador links über die Asphaltstraße weiter abwärts. Diese Straße verlassen wir nach 2 Min. hinter der letzten Palme.
Der Weg endet nach einer ¼ Std. am Restaurant Masca, im Orteil La Vica. Die letzten Meter verlaufen über die Hauptstraße bis nach Masca.

Santiago del Teide se encuentra situado en el suroeste de Tenerife, se extiende desde las faldas del Teide hasta la costa. La Villa Historíca de Santiago del Teide (capital del municipio) se encuentra a 936 metros de altitud.
Santiago del Teide combina en pocos kilómetros un impresionante número de parajes naturales de enorme belleza, extensos paisajes montañosos, imponentes acantilados marinos, sobrecogedores volcanes, tranquilas playas de arena y fondos marinos únicos por su riqueza de flora y fauna.
Gracias a la conservación y protección del medio ambiente y las tradiciones culturales, Santiago del Teide ofrece al visitante un cuidado entorno natural convirtiéndose en uno de los destinos turísticos más solicitados por los visitantes que acuden a la isla de Tenerife.
El municipio se divide en nueve núcleos de población y se ubican en tres zonas diferenciadas.
En la zona alta se encuentran: Valle de Arriba, Santiago del Teide, Las Manchas, EL Molledo, El Retamar y Argayo.
El pueblo de Tamaimo se encuentra en la zona de medianías.
En la costa se encuentran Puerto Santiago y los Acantilados de los Gigantes.
La economía varia entre las localidades del municipio, aunque el turismo es su principal fuente de recursos. En los núcleos costeros de Puerto de Santiago y Acantilados de los Gigantes, la actividad turística y el sector servicios constituyen las principales actividades económicas. En las poblaciones del interior (Santiago del Teide, Tamaimo y Arguayo) la economía se basa en la agricultura.

This is a rare opportunity to buy an old Spanish house in need of refurbishment which sits on a large 850 square meter plot of land in the village centre of Santiago del Teide. The house is built around a Spanish courtyard and has lots of character. At present consists of four bedrooms, a large kitchen with a wood burning oven.
