The ECPR team presents a glimpse of the fast-paced action—and stunning items—from a recent European-style auction, which was held in Smyrna, Ga., and hosted by Englishman's Fine Furnishings.
One of the finest names in quality furniture today, Englishman's Fine Furnishings is a manufacturer of antique style and custom reproduction furnishings, home accessories, terracotta and bronze collections, and European-style prints. Additionally, Englishman's Kitchens & Fine Custom Cabinetry offers whole-kitchen design / build services, providing all components from one source - ranging from custom cabinetry, specialized dish and pantry storage, and ornate oven hoods to standard and custom kitchen furniture such as dining tables, chairs, bar / counter stools, hutches, and sideboards. Following in the great tradition of England's legendary cabinet-makers such as Chippendale and Hepplewhite, Englishman's uses only the very best artisan craftsmanship. No two pieces of furniture are created exactly the same in that Englishman's hand-crafted reproductions model European antiques from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
The company also boasts a collection of select antiques from England and France, and the May 22 auction was a great place for attendees to take home coveted collectables and unique furnishings. Included among the more than 500 items on the auction block were home furnishings, tapestries, terracotta urns and planters, water features, artwork, lighting, rugs, and decorative accessories. The event was open to the public and celebrated the company's 30th United States business anniversary. Englishman's spacious retail location in Smyrna was the ideal setting for the auction, though the store is open to the public six days a week.
It was our goal to capture, produce and edit a short video to briefly introduce the company's auction events, a former specialty for which owner Mike Howarth has been known for many years. The company's combination of one-of-a-kind furniture / accessories and Howarth's knowledge of all things antique and reproduction create total event experiences for those who attend. And, finding a personal treasure on the auction stand is a good reason to be in the front row for the next auction or event.
