Sculpture by the Sea, Aarhus Denmark
The beautiful city of Aarhus in Denmark is to host the first Sculpture by the Sea exhibition outside of Australia.
Featuring 60 sculptures from across the world the exhibition site runs from the start of the beach at Tangkrogen past the Queens summer residence to Ballehage Beach and into the forest around the magical building 'Varna'. For further information please email kljc@aros.dk
Produced by ARoS for the City of Aarhus, the exhibition is under the patronage of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

Sculpture by The Sea 2013 i Aarhus
Så blev flagene hejst på Tangkrogen, Sculpture by the sea 2013 kan ses fra 1. juni til 30 juni på en tre kilometer lange kyststrækning fra Tangkrogen til Ballehage. Kunstnere fra mere end 20 forskellige lande udstiller ca. 60 unikke skulpturer i forskellige former, størrelser og materialer kan ses på strandbredden, i vandkanten og i skovbrynet.

Man skal have god tid, hvis man vil nyde alt den smukke kunst
der findes ved Tangkrogens strand. .....
Jeg brugte 6 timer den 2 juni 2011 på at nyde det smukke vejr
og gå langstranden, for at se på alt det gratis smukke kunst
og det var en fornøjelse at tale med kunstneren om deres værker.
Jeg fik talt med flere kunstner bla. nogle stykker fra Australien,
De var meget begejstret over Aarhus og stranden, hvor deres kunst blev
udstille på, maden fik også ros, idet de var vilde med vores seafood.
Nu har de fleste måske set udstillingen, men jeg vil efterlade
nogle billeder fra kunsten på stranden.
Der kommer senere et links til en lille film jeg har lavet derfra.
Tak for en god oplevelse til Kronprinseparret, som jeg nu ikke fik set.
Det var en god idet I gav Aarhus Kommune ...

På idé af Kronprins Frederik har ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum lavet et kunstprojekt oprindelig fra Australien, kaldet Sculpture by the Sea. der er nemlig tale om store skulpturer som er placeret ved vandet og tæt på kyststrækningen fra Tangkrogen til Ballehage ved Århus. Der er tale om en strækning på tre kilometer, hvor 60 skulpturer i forskellige former, størrelser og materialer er placeret langs vandet. Kunstnere fra 10 nationer er repræsenteret.
Grundlovsdag var der officiel indvielse af kunstprojektet, med deltagelse af HKH Kronprins Frederik og HKH Kronprinsesse Mary.

Australia - The Sculpture by the Sea
Initiated in 1997.
This exhibition was initiated in 1997, at Bondi Beach and it featured sculptures by both Australian and overseas artists. The Sculpture by the Sea exhibition in Sydney and Perth. It is Australia's largest annual outdoor sculpture exhibition. In 2005, a companion event was established at Cottesloe Beach in Western Australia featuring over 70 artists, in 2009 it was announced that Aarhus in Denmark would host the first Sculpture by the Sea exhibition outside of Australia
Sculpture by the Sea is incredibly popular and draws considerable crowds. In 2014 Waverley Council estimated that between 450,000 and 500,000 people would visit the sculptures during their exhibition in Sydney. This exhibition is held annually during spring in Australia, from late October to early November for three weeks. Over 100 local, interstate and international artists participate every year.

Gilbert har lavet. Den bliver således i Århus først opstilles den ved ARoS, hvor den kan
belejres af børn og siden ved det nye Multimediehus.

Når Sculpture by the Sea Aarhus 2011 torsdag den 2. juni kl. 14 inviterer til åbningsfest på Tangkrogen i Aarhus, bliver det med deltagelse af Deres Kongelige Højheder Kronprins Frederik og Kronprinsesse Mary. Alle er velkomne til den festlige begivenhed, så der bliver rig mulighed for at tage familie og venner under armen, og få en flot og underholdende oplevelse. Ved åbningen kan man blandt andet opleve åbningstaler af Kronprins Frederik og borgmester Nicolai Wammen- Vi var med til pressemødet onsdag den 1 juni.
