Alleppey Beach (Alappuzha) - Kerala, India 2014
Visited the Alappuzha beach in Kerala, also called Alleppey beach by foreigners. A fantastic sight as I caught the sunset. Pleasantly surprised to watch Camels used as joy rides. Camel ride cost 50 Rupees ($1) for about 5 minutes. Alleppey is an important tourist destination in India, and is well known for its natural beauty. It is also known as the Venice Of The East.
In the video, you can see the remains of Alappuzha sea bridge which is now in ruins. Once upon a time, Alleppey was an in important port of India where lots of ships docked. The beach also has a small park and a lighthouse nearby. In the mornings, lots of freshly caught fishes are sold in the nearby markets. The beach is an excellent place to spend time in the evenings for tourists.

Alappuzha Beach is a beach in Alappuzha town and it is the lesser known destination as its been overshadowed by the backwaters and houseboats. This beach has an old pier which extend to sea is over 150 years old.
This beach easily accessible through various town roads and an elevated highway will passing by the beach as part of Alappuzha bypass in order to preserve the beauty of the area.
A children’s park ,light house, museum and a pool are also available in the proximity of the beach besides multitude of budget resorts and homesteads by the coast line.

Our stay in Alleppey or Alappuzha is coming to an end! But not before we visit the Secret Beach in Alleppey which...is its actual name! Hahah it was recommended to us by a local. After searching online I found out it's just a strip of the Alappuzha beach where there's actually shade.
There was no one around, the sand was soft, and water perfect temperature for a dip. Although you guessed it - Alappuzha beach was hot!
Worth checking out for an afternoon nap heh.
