Presentations: We again will have 3 days of presentations by hummingbird experts from around the world in the modern, air-conditioned Sedona Performing Arts Center.
Garden Tours: We have made each ticket valid for two days instead of one. In this way you can schedule the garden visits and presentation plans so as not to miss anything!
Sunrise Breakfasts: We will have at least three hotspots with huge numbers of hummingbirds suitable for breakfasts.
Banding: We have two great hotspots for banding in 2014. See Maps tab after 4/1/14.
Exhibitors: The Hummingbird Marketplace [exhibitors and vendors area] will remain in the lobby of the Sedona Performing Arts Center, giving you easier access to opportunities to buy everything hummingbird. As before, attending this area is free--no admission fees!
Birding Trips: Birders will have the opportunity to visit one of two different habitats, Page Springs Fish Hatchery and Oak Creeek Canyon. Free, but reservations required.
Ticket prices for Presentations will be unchanged from 2013; garden tour tickets, now valid two days instead of one, will increase from $14 to $15. Prices for the Sunrise Breakfasts and Gala have not yet been determined.

Places to see in ( Sedona - USA )
Places to see in ( Sedona - USA )
Sedona is an Arizona desert town near Flagstaff that’s surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls and pine forests. It’s noted for its mild climate and vibrant arts community. Uptown Sedona is dense with New Age shops, spas and art galleries. On the town’s outskirts, numerous trailheads access Red Rock State Park, which offers bird-watching, hiking and picnicking spots.
Nestled amid striking red sandstone formations at the south end of the 16-mile Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona attracts spiritual seekers, artists and healers, as well as day-trippers from Phoenix trying to escape the oppressive heat. Many New Age types believe that this area is the center of vortexes (not 'vortices' here in Sedona) that radiate the earth's power, and you'll find all sorts of alternative medicines and practices on display. More tangibly, the surrounding canyons offer outstanding hiking, biking, swimming and camping.
The town itself bustles with art galleries and expensive gourmet restaurants. In summer the traffic and the crowds can be heavy. Regionally, Oak Creek Canyon begins north of Uptown Sedona; the Village of Oak Creek, however, is south of the city.
Sedona's main attraction is its array of red sandstone formations. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. The red rocks form a popular backdrop for many activities, ranging from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails. Sedona was named after Sedona Arabella Miller Schnebly (1877–1950), the wife of Theodore Carlton Schnebly, the city's first postmaster, who was celebrated for her hospitality and industriousness.
Sedona is located in the Upper Sonoran Desert of northern Arizona. Sedona has mild winters and hot summers. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 19.2 square miles (49.7 km2), of which 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2), or 0.22%, is water. The red rocks of Sedona are formed by a unique layer of rock known as the Schnebly Hill Formation. The Schnebly Hill Formation is a thick layer of red to orange-colored sandstone found only in the Sedona vicinity. The sandstone, a member of the Supai Group, was deposited during the Permian Period.

Visit Sedona's Verde Valley Wineries | Sedona, Arizona
Desert climate and great wine may not sound synonymous, but don’t let your assumptions fool you! Arizona’s terroir (factors like climate, latitude and elevation) is perfect. The environment is similar to the best grape growing regions in the world, from California to France. At Javelina Leap, they explained the nutrient-rich but drier soil makes for great winemaking. The harder the vines work in the soil, the stronger and more resilient they become and the better the grape produced.
Sedona’s wine scene is a group of boutique wineries with beautiful vineyards and laid-back tastings rooms located in the Verde Valley - only 20 minutes from the city center. You can book a tour or adventure to the valley on your own as we did.
