Is the Sedona “Energy Vortex” real? | exploration • meditation • reflection
Sedona has a reputation for being a special place. It is said to be home to several energy vortexes (swirling centers of energy) that are conducive to healing, meditation and introspection. So are they real? In this video I explore and meditate at the Cathedral Rock vortex and give you my honest opinion on the power of this Sedona Vortex.

Sedona Vortex Tour - Boynton, Sedona Airport, Cathedral Rock and Bell Rock In One Day
Sedona vortex energies are some of the most powerful in the world. Experiencing the vortex energies and integrating the Divine light and healing can help you to increase your awareness, heal, and tune into higher levels of light and expanded states of consciousness.
If you have been to Sedona before and experienced any of the vortexes you may have noticed that they offer a heightened sense of awareness.
Really, the entire town of Sedona has a new age and metaphysical lens into Divine Consciousness that is unlike anywhere else in North America.
Learn more about the Sedona Vortex locations here: :
In this video, we take on the challenge of visiting four of Sedona's most popular vortexes in one day to experience a beautiful integration of all the divine vortex energies.
First, we go to the Boynton Canyon.
The Boynton Canyon Vortex is located on the West side of town accessible by going N on Dry Creek Road and making a left at the stop sign, or from FR525.
A short 10 minute drive out of town on a paved road and you will find a Red Rock Pass required parking area. Be sure to buy a parking pass for the Red Rock parking area as you are not only supportin the Sedona, AZ trails but you are also making sure you don't get a parking ticket!
A quick hike with a steep scramble at the top leads you to the Boynton Vortex. In the saddle between two red-rock spiers, the energy is uplifting and strongest near the juniper pine tree at the center.
On the east you have Kachina Rock and on the west, the shorter rock spier is Flute Rock.
Second, we headed over to the Sedona airport vortex.
From Highway 89A you go south on N. Airport Road, just East of the Whole Foods in Sedona.
Less than a mile up the road you will see a parking area on your left. There are about 15 parking spots and this is definitely the closest vortex with the shortest walk from the parking area to the high energy area.
If you climb the mesa all the way to the Sedona airport, you went too far!
At the airport vortex there are two ways to get to the peak, the easier trail to the left, or you can scramble up the hill straight ahead.
There are also several additional hikes available from the airport vortex parking area. You can loop around several of the mesa's in the area and the 360 degree views of the Verde Valley are unrivaled.
From here you can see Boynton, Bell and Cathedral rock... Cathedral being the most difficult to spot as it can be hidden behind the airport mesa depending on where you are standing.
Third stop on the Sedona Vortex day tour is Cathedral Rock.
The Cathedral Rock Vortex is possibly the most impressive of all the Sedona Vortexes based on the shear height and size of the pinnacles that rise above.
Most people don't realize that the vortexes are actually located a short climb up from the arroyo on what is called Buddah's Beach.
It is not required to climb all the way to Cathedral Rock to experience the vortex energies!
This is a common misconseption.
Look for the twisted trunks of the juniper pine trees to signify that you have reached the vortex.
Finally, continuing south towards the Village of Oak Creek you reach the last vortex in the tour.... Bell Rock.
There is parking on the south and north side of Bell Rock and if you are looking for the shorter hike, be sure to park on the north side.
With its distinctive bell shape and layers of red rock leading towards its peak, there are potentially hours or days of hiking and exploring around Bell Rock alone.
The vortex energies at Bell Rock are noticeable at all levels of the rock formation, from the base to the peak, you will be able to experience the blissful phenomena that is the Sedona vortex energies.
It is important to remember that these are not the only vortexes in Sedona but they are the most popular and accessible.

The programming etc in this video, creates a 'link/portal' to the bell rock portal at sedona, Playing this will allow the energy to flow around and into the area it is played, providing you with a very interesting experience. This is like being at the actual place.
What is a vortex? Sedona vortexes (the proper grammatical form ‘vortices’ is rarely used) are thought to be swirling centers of energy that are conducive to healing, meditation and self-exploration. These are places where the earth seems especially alive with energy. Many people feel inspired, recharged or uplifted after visiting a vortex.
Although all of Sedona is considered to be a vortex, there are specific sites where the energy crackles most intensely. The four best known Sedona vortexes are found at Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and Boynton Canyon—each radiating its own particular energy. Some are thought to produce energy flowing upward while at others the energy spirals downward, entering the earth.

SEDONA, ARIZON - ENERGY VORTEX BUZZ
Yes the Grand Canyon is the most popular tourist destination in Arizona but the beautiful city of Sedona is also a must-visit destination. It is only two hours south of the Grand Canyon. Besides in physical beauty highlighted by its red rocks, buttes and the subtle colors of this part of Arizona the word “vortex” is associated with this part of Arizona.
This concept was totally new to us and it this video we touch upon the concept. Sedona spiritual vortexes are powerful and transformational energy centers that are located at specific sites throughout Sedona, Arizona. Vortexes are the intersections of natural electromagnetic earth energy, also known as ley lines. ... Twisted trees indicate the presence of vortex energy.
The majestic red rock scenery and evergreen vegetation are two reasons for the unique energy of Sedona and its tangible regenerative and inspirational effects. ... Sedona is also internationally known for the uplifting power of its Vortex meditation sites. Two aspects of those sites make Sedona truly special.
Sedona.net even warns of potential physical effects: ...You may feel a range of sensations from a slight tingling on exposed skin, to a vibration emanating from the ground when you encounter a vortex. Most often a vortex is felt by palpable sensation across the nape of the neck and the shoulder blades.
he best time to visit Sedona is from March to May when the temperatures are warm – but not scorching – and the area is in full bloom. Hikers love this season, as desert flowers add a pop of color to the rust-colored trails. September to November is another ideal time for outdoor activities thanks to mild weather.
Sedona is a city that straddles the county line between Coconino and Yavapai counties in the northern Verde Valley region of the U.S. state of Arizona. As of the 2010 census, its population was 10,031.[5] Most of the city lies in Yavapai County, with a portion in the east located in Coconino County.
Sedona's main attraction is its array of red sandstone formations. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. The red rocks form a popular backdrop for many activities, ranging from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails.
Sedona was named after Sedona Arabella Miller Schnebly (1877–1950), the wife of Theodore Carlton Schnebly, the city's first postmaster, who was celebrated for her hospitality and industriousness. Her mother, Amanda Miller, claimed to have made the name up because it sounded pretty
The first documented human presence in the Sedona area dates to between 11,500 and 9000 B.C. It was not until 1995 that a Clovis projectile point discovered in Honanki revealed the presence of the Paleo-Indians, who were big game hunters. Around 9000 B.C., the pre-historic Archaic people appeared in the Verde Valley. These were hunter-gatherers and their presence in the area was longer than in other areas of the Southwest, most likely because of the ecological diversity and large amount of resources. They left by 300 A.D. There is an assortment of rock art left by the Archaic people in places near Sedona such as Palatki and Honanki.[8]
Around 650 A.D., the Sinagua people entered the Verde Valley. Their culture is known for its art such as pottery, basketry and their masonry. They left rock art, pueblos, and cliff dwellings such as Montezuma Castle, Honanki, Palatki and Tuzigoot, especially in the later period of their presence. The Sinagua abandoned the Verde Valley about 1400 A.D.[8] Researchers believe the Sinagua and other clans moved to the Hopi mesas in Arizona and the Zuni and other pueblos in New Mexico.[9]
The Yavapai came from the west when the Sinagua were still there in the Verde Valley around 1300 A.D. They were nomadic hunter-gatherers. Some archaeologists place the Apache arrival in the Verde Valley around 1450 A.D. Many Apache groups were nomadic or seminomadic and traveled over large areas.[10]
The Yavapai and Apache tribes were forcibly removed from the Verde Valley in 1876, to the San Carlos Indian Reservation, 180 miles (290 km) southeast. About 1,500 people were marched, in midwinter, to San Carlos. Several hundred lost their lives. The survivors were interned for 25 years. About 200 Yavapai and Apache people returned to the Verde Valley in 1900 and have since intermingled as a single political entity although culturally distinct[11] residing in the Yavapai-Apache Nation.

Buddha Beach - Red Rock State Park, Sedona, Arizona
Buddha Beach is considered to be the site of a subtle energy vortex where believers come to meditate, chant and create whimsical rock cairns. The energy emanating from this particular vortex is said to be feminine and a very nurturing experience. The various energy vortexes (In Sedona, the energy centers are referred to as vortexes rather than vortices...), apparently, are especially felt by sensitive people who can gain extra, uplifting energy that stays with them for a few days after visiting the vortex. There are many energy vortexes in and around Sedona and other parts of the world...
