Segway Tours Bangkok Thailand
- Walking in Bangkok is not a pleasant experience. You've got broken sidewalks, crowded street vendors and intense heat all make sightseeing by foot difficult. However I went to check out a decidedly 21st century way of seeing this historic city.
Visitors tour Bangkok on segways
(9 Nov 2009)
Bangkok, Thailand, August 26, 2009
1. Tour guide leading tourists on Segways on busy Bangkok road.
2. Tourists riding Segways along river in Bangkok.
3. SOUNDBITE (French) Carine Battajon, French Tourist:
I think it's a very good idea because with a Segway we can move around everywhere. We can go on small roads or visit small markets that we couldn't see if we were in a minivan or a car. Riding a Segway, you're not really considered as a car, but more like a pedestrian. So we have a lot more freedom and it's a lot more convenient. It's a better way to see the little hidden parts of Bangkok and stay out of the very touristy places.
4. Commuter boat passing in front of Buddhist temple on river.
5. Boat crossing in front of Rama 8 Bridge in Bangkok.
6.SOUNDBITE (English): Kittisak Prathumwan, Tour Guide, Segway Tour Thailand:
That's the newest bridge in Bangkok, Thailand, that has been built in the reign of King Rama the Nine. So on the top roof there it has some elevator on the viewpoint there that we can going up, but mostly for royal family. Alright, royal family. Just going up and seeing the whole view of Bangkok.

21. SOUNDBITE (English): Mok Chiu Tai, Hong Kong Tourist:
I think it's very exciting, and it saved me a lot of energy, just by riding on it and you don't have to walk, so much energy. And then you can go many places, instead of walking or taking the bus or taxi, and then it will be very trouble, you will get a lot of trouble when you plan it by yourself. But right now we have the tour and guide by the staff and we will be very happy with this one.

A Rainy Night Out & Hover Boards in Thailand! - Bangkok VLOG 11
A Rainy Night Out & Hover Boards in Thailand! - Bangkok VLOG 11
A Bangkok vlog where I went to MBK, then on to Soi 4 for happy hour beers, then eating at soi 11, then on to Soi Cowboy, back to Soi 4 again for some pool, finally ending up in Climax Nightclub. Was very drunk at the end so apologies for any shaky camera.
So I had to go to MBK to run some errands, and was really surprised to see a guy riding the IO Hawk. These things look like they are from the future. When quizzed about the hover board they said it was a 'monowheel' but it is in fact identical to the 'IO HAWK' being sold in America. 17,000 baht is also a great price for this, I would be really tempted if Bangkok was more pedestrian friendly. (See Casey Neistat's vlog: for more info on this Hover Board thing)
The Chicken Burger at Burger King was probably the most average tasting thing ever.
Dinner at Charley Brown's was not 100% successful because the pork with pineapple and fish tacos tasted pretty bland. Will stick to chicken and beef tacos from now on.
The heavens opened up and I was marooned in Soi 11 for a little while, but it changed to manageable rain so I was able to walk around without getting too wet.
