AOMORI JAPAN, OIRASE STREAM
Oirase Stream (奥入瀬渓流, Oirase Keiryū) is a picturesque mountain stream in Aomori Prefecture that is one of Japan's most famous and popular autumn colors destinations. The stream flows along the floor of the Oirase Gorge, winding among trees which, while a lush green in spring and summer, turn brilliant shades of red, yellow and orange from late October through early November. Over a dozen waterfalls cascade down into the stream all along its length from the walls of the gorge.
Oirase Stream is the only outlet draining Lake Towada. It starts at Nenokuchi where there is a bus stop and a boat pier with connections to nearby Yasumiya Town. An easy-to-walk hiking trail leads along the most scenic, upper passage of the stream between Nenokuchi and Ishigedo, with many bridges, waterfalls and bus stops along the way. The trail is about 9 kilometers long and takes about 2.5 hours to walk one way.

Swords are now often evaluated as works of art. From this perspective we can't really make a judgement. From a user's view point, as people who actually use Japanese swords, Adachi San's work is the best in the country. They are beautiful, perfectly balanced, they cut exceptionally well and are extremely durable.

We no longer live in an era in which it is necessary to use swords but in the past, right through the Edo era it was imperative that a sword didn't break. A sword shouldn't break or bend and it should cut well. To create this kind of sword, Shihozume is the most efficient method of production.

LEAD IN:
Swords and swordsmanship lay at the heart of the Japanese Samurai tradition.
No longer used in battle, thousands still practice the sword drawing and cutting techniques within the Japanese martial art 'Iaido'.
To many practitioners, the sword of choice is made by a craftsman from the village of Ryujin in Wakayama prefecture.
STORYLINE:
Adachi Shigefumi grew up in a small hamlet on the outskirts of the village of Ryujin.
Ryujin is located in the mountains of the Kii peninsular, an area that does not have any particular historical tradition of Sword making.
The practice was started by Adachi Shigefumi's father.
Largely self taught he became a specialist sword smith during the 1950s.

Aomori is covered with many natural wonders, with lakes and forest. Walking in the Oirase forest in Towada is truly refreshing and rewarding especially to get a look and touch of the Oirase Stream. Visit in the month of April with the cherry blossom festifal is awesome. Places in Aomori qualifies to be the Most Beautiful and Breathtaking Places in Japan.

Kamakura Daibutsu (Great Buddha 大仏), Kamakura, Japan
Kamakura Daibutsu (鎌倉大仏) Temple (actual temple name is Kotoku-in Temple) is located in the suburbs of Kamakura district of Kanagawa prefecture in Japan. The main attraction at this temple is the very large seated Buddha statue called Daibutsu.
This Daibutsu (Great Buddha) statue was cast in bronze in 1252. The height of the statue is about 35 feet and it weighs 100000 Kilos (100 Tonnes). This statue is the second largest bronze cast, seated Great Buddha statue in Japan. The largest one is in the Todaiji temple in Nara prefecture.
You can also climb into the Buddha statue, through a small and narrow staircase.
The original Daibutsu statue was inside a temple and under a roof but during the tsunami in 1495, the temple was washed away leaving the Daibutsu statue in it's place. Since then, it is decided to build around the statue and the Daibutsu statue has been left as it is, without a roof.
It is a great sight to watch this statue with the great mountain range background.
Enjoy!!!
