Wikipedia:
Sacre Couer -
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica and often simply Sacré-Cœur (French: Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France. A popular landmark and the second most visited monument in Paris, the basilica stands at the summit of the butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city. Sacré-Cœur Basilica is above all a religious (Catholic) building, shown by its perpetual adoration of the Holy Eucharist since 1885, and is also seen as a double monument, political and cultural, both a national penance for the defeat of France in the 1870 Franco-Prussian War and for the socialist Paris Commune of 1871 crowning its most rebellious neighborhood, and an embodiment of conservative moral order, publicly dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was an increasingly popular devotion since the visions of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque.
Notre Dame -Notre-Dame de Paris referred to simply as Notre-Dame,[a] is a medieval Catholic cathedral on the Île de la Cité in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. The cathedral is consecrated to the Virgin Mary and considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. Its pioneering use of the rib vault and flying buttress, its enormous and colourful rose windows, as well as the naturalism and abundance of its sculptural decoration set it apart from the earlier Romanesque style.[7] Major components that make Notre Dame stand out include one of the world's largest organs and its immense church bells.[8]
The cathedral's construction was begun in 1160 under Bishop Maurice de Sully and was largely complete by 1260, though it was modified frequently in the following centuries. In the 1790s, Notre-Dame suffered desecration during the French Revolution; much of its religious imagery was damaged or destroyed. In the 19th century, the cathedral was the site of the coronation of Napoleon I and funerals of many Presidents of the Republic.
Popular interest in the cathedral blossomed soon after the publication, in 1831, of Victor Hugo's novel Notre-Dame de Paris (better known in English as The Hunchback of Notre-Dame). This led to a major restoration project between 1844 and 1864, supervised by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. . Beginning in 1963, the cathedral's façade was cleaned of centuries of soot and grime. Another cleaning and restoration project was carried out between 1991 and 2000.
The cathedral is one of the most widely recognized symbols of the city of Paris and the French nation.
The cathedral has been progressively stripped of its original decoration and works of art. Several noteworthy examples of Gothic, Baroque, and 19th-century sculptures and a group of 17th- and early 18th-century altarpieces remain in the cathedral’s collection. The most important relics in Christendom, including the Crown of Thorns, a sliver of the true cross and a nail from the true cross, are preserved at Notre-Dame.
While undergoing renovation and restoration, the roof of Notre-Dame caught fire on the evening of 15 April 2019. Burning for around 15 hours, the cathedral sustained serious damage, including the destruction of the flèche (the timber spire over the crossing) and most of the lead-covered wooden roof above the stone vaulted ceiling.
The basilica was designed by Paul Abadie. Construction began in 1875 and was completed in 1914. The basilica was consecrated after the end of World War I in 1919

I and Alex took the last days of the fall holidays to revisit the lovely city of Paris. All we did for three days was to run from famous attraction to famous instagram location, and capturing some footage here and there on the the way. We had a lot of footage for the little time we were there, but here’s the best of the best cut down to 3 minutes. Hope y'all enjoy!

This video is a fun look into my life in Paris... well, kinda. It's more like a look into my life in Paris when I have people come to visit! Friends and family who want to visit Paris in 2 days, or perhaps an entire week! I obviously do my best to squash in all the major Paris landmarks that I can whilst always recommending the same thing: STOP, slow down, take a coffee and just people watch!
We didn't get to do much of that in this video (oops) but we did have an amazing time. If you've never visited the city of light, I really hope you enjoy seeing what Paris looks like also :)
Don't forget to stay until the end of the video to see the Eiffel Tower sparkling at night ❤ ❤

10 Ways To Have The Most Romantic Weekend In Paris
A luxurious break in Paris. Hôtel Le Bristol, the movie set in Midnight in Paris.
Here we are at Le Bristol Paris, in the heart of Paris’ fashion district on Rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré. It is true that this Palace hotel was made famous recently by Woody Allen's film Midnight in Paris. Several scenes at the beginning of the movie are taken in the lobby and subsequent scenes in the hotel suite. This hotel is also one of my favourite places during winter when it's very cold outside. The cozy and convivial setting is perfect to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Hôtel Le Bristol opened in 1925 and is famous for its historic architecture and luxurious interior and welcoming décor. It also houses Paris' only spa by La Prairie and Michelin starred restaurants. Le Bristol with its marble walls, painted ceilings, Aubusson tapestries 1:42, 2:29, 3:46 is like a museum. The place is flooded with natural light in the daytime and lit by a soft glow of chandeliers at night. The earthy hues of the walls provide an elegant contrast with the texture of fabrics. In the middle of the lobby, there is Café Antonia, an elegant rendezvous place, 4:44. Precious artwork includes a portrait of Queen Marie Antoinette 5:10, by François-Hubert Drouais, a court portraitist during Louis XV’s reign. The stylish cafe is named after the Queen’s familiar name Antonia. Le Bristol offers a peaceful and harmonious French-style garden designed in the spirit of Le Nôtre’s at the Versailles. Le Jardin Francais 4:10 is heavenly during spring and summer. It serves breakfast, lunch, a classic English-style afternoon tea by day, and cocktails in the evening. Bristol is also Hollywood stars favourite hotel. Famous guests who have stayed here include Woody Allen, Robert De Niro, George Clooney, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bruce Willis, Harvey Keitel, U.S. President Harry Truman and George Bush, and many many more...Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.

How To Use The Metro in Paris & Best Apps for Paris Metro Map
How to Use the Metro in Paris: Follow me around the city as I explain exactly how to use the Paris metro system - how to identify a metro station, how to buy Paris metro tickets, how to read the Paris Metro Map, navigate the Paris metro stations and get to where you need to go!
Using The Paris Metro is a great way to discover Paris. When you visit Paris is a good idea to learn how to use the metro (subway). With its 301 stations, the Paris Metro is one of the most extensive underground transportation systems in the world.

There are over 300 stations being serviced by 16 Metro lines, so exploring the city underground is super easy!
Most lines run from 5.30am to 12.30am Monday – Friday, with weekends keeping lines running until 2.15am. Departure times of the first and last trains differ with each station during these times. But if in doubt, there is a chart on the wall of every station (either at the station entrance or on the platform) listing the departure times for both the first and last trains leaving that particular station.
Insider Tip: the RER trains look similar to the Metro, but it is actually a different train system. If you decide to travel further into France from Paris, then this would likely be via the RER trains meaning your Paris metro tickets won't do. But if staying inside Paris only, it’s the Metro you want. The Metro stations will either have a large M over the entrance, or be called Metro or Métropolitain.
When it comes to the Metro, the lines are all colour-coded and numbered, keeping things nice and simple. Each line travels in two separate directions, which is indicated by the start and end stations on each line. For instance, when looking from left to right on the Metro map, line 1 starts in La Défense and ends in Château de Vincennes.
There are also some stations that serve more than one line, whereas some stations serve just one Metro line only. On the map, it’s super easy to spot those stations operating on more than one line, as they show a white circle or oval shape across all of the lines running through that station.
Still wondering how to get around in Paris? Using the Paris Metro system need not be stressful - Citymapper Paris and Paris Metro are two great apps to have in your pocket.

FAQ:
How long have you lived in France? On and off for over two years.
What do you miss most about ho- NACHOS
You're always talking about living on some ship. WHAT SHIP? - I made a Draw My Life video that explains a lot here:
Where are you from originally? - Pullman, Washington - a small university/agricultural town near Idaho (and yes, the potatoes are amazing).
What do you film with? - I currently film almost exclusively with my Samsung Galaxy S8:
How do you get those shots where you're walking or running? - A Joby Gorillapod for smartphones, like this:
You drop your phone a lot, how does it survive? - THIS CASE IS AMAZING: (Galaxy S7) - (Galaxy S8) - (iPhone)
What do you edit with? - Adobe Premiere - it's pretty much all I've ever used since high school.
Aren't you ever freaked out by leaving your camera behind to film yourself? - Yep. But not too badly - I tend to be careful when I do.
Why are you living in #Paris? - Because I've always wanted to; I feel at home here:
But what are you doing there? - Living it up!
Do you speak French? Oui.
You talk a lot about the books you're working on, what are they about? - They're sci-fi (and fantasy) and I've got a decent pitch for you here:
Do you make money off YouTube? - Ha, no. I wish. It took me over 500 videos to make my first $100 off adsense. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - The easiest and best way to support me is through Patreon, where you can pitch in as little as $1/mo to help me make better videos:
I don't trust this Patreon thing - what's your PayPal? - Here's a handy link!
I like PayPal in pink! - Here's my ko-fi if that's your thing (and coffee is your game):
But I want to send you something tangible! - I do have a wishlist on Amazon, though it's a bit complicated with the international shipping situation. This is the US one:
And here's the French one:
Can I come stay with you in Paris? - Have you seen my apartment? It's too small for me as it is!
OK, but how do I use the Metro when I'm there? - I made a handy video for you:
