Finding Wild Missouri: Shaw Nature Corridor
Travel along the famous Route 66 and you'll discover the Shaw Nature Corridor that follows Highway 44 east of St. Louis. A visit to Powder Valley Conservation Nature Area is a mile from one of the busiest interstate intersections in Missouri! Travel writer and conservationist John Robinson visits with Rio at the wild bird sanctuary. Next, we watch wolves in their natural habitat at the nearby Endangered Wolf Center. Further down the corridor, a walk through Henry Shaw Nature Center is a delight among the flowers, fauna, and walking trails. We end our journey at Route 66 State Park, as we pay homage to this important roadway that also transports us to the natural world surrounding it.
