From Wikipedia:
Midtown Manhattan is the central portion of the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Midtown is home to some of the city's most iconic buildings, including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project, the headquarters of the United Nations, Grand Central Terminal, and Rockefeller Center, as well as Broadway and Times Square.
Midtown Manhattan is the largest central business district in the world and ranks among the most expensive pieces of real estate; Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan commands the world's highest retail rents, with average annual rents at US$3,000 per square foot ($32,000/m2) in 2017. However, due to the high price of retail spaces in Midtown, there are also many vacant storefronts in the neighborhood. Midtown is the country's largest commercial, entertainment, and media center, and also a growing financial center.
The majority of New York City's skyscrapers, including its tallest hotels and apartment towers, are in Midtown. The area hosts commuters and residents working in its offices, hotels, and retail establishments, tourists and students. Times Square, the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater District, is a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Sixth Avenue also has the headquarters of three of the four major U.S. television networks.
Midtown is part of Manhattan Community District 5. It is patrolled by the 14th and 18th Precincts of the New York City Police Department.

2017 Brighton Beach New York Walking Tour: Little Odessa Brighton Beach Avenue Brighton Bazaar
2017 Brighton Beach New York Walking Tour: Little Odessa Brighton Beach Avenue Brighton Bazaar. One of New York City's most exciting resources is the ability to transport people to new worlds all for the price of a subway ride. Brighton Beach in Brooklyn is one of those worlds and a summer destination for New York City residents due to its beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and its proximity to the amusement parks in Coney Island. Join us as we walk along the Reigelmann Boardwalk from Coney Island to Brighton Beach which is around a 30 minute walk. Also called Little Odessa—a reference to the Ukrainian city from which many of its residents have come from during the late 1980’s after the collapse of the soviet union and thousands of Soviet citizens immigrated to the United States.
Brighton Beach Avenue is the center of commerce for this neighborhood beneath the rumble of the elevated subway lines. It is known for its tight-knit, Russian-speaking community with colorful shops, food emporiums and restaurants
Brighton Bazaar is a massive Russian-owned supermarket that contains everything Russian from an impressive spread of hot and cold Russian delicaicies including pickled watermelon, baked apples, pickled garlic, roast sturgeon, chabureki and soups. The supermarket also features a bakery, deli, meat counter, fresh produce section, dried fish and packaged Russian specialties like caviar. We made sure to get pelmeni Russian dumplings and Harcho which is an Uzbekistan Lamb soup oh we can’t wait to show you this later!

Brooklyn New York Adoptee Rights Protest at Helene Weinstein's' Office
Demonstrations in New York Demand Civil Rights and Justice
On Sunday September 29, 2013 members and supporters of New York's Statewide Adoption Reform Unsealed Initiative gathered at the Brooklyn New York Office of New York State Legislative Representative, Helene E. Weinstein. Helene Weinstein represents District 41 in the New York State Assembly, which comprises Sheepshead Bay, Flatlands, East Flatbush, Midwood and Canarsie and is the LONE reason why New York state adult adoptees are continually denied their civil and human rights to access their original birth certificates.
Year after year, Brooklyn Assemblymember Helene Weinstein, Chair of Judiciary Committee, has stepped in to hold A909 from advancing to the assembly floor for a vote. She has stymied New York's widely supported legislation and continues to say the birth parents were promised confidentiality which is a LIE.
President Trump Motorcade * Trump Motorcade * Donald Trump Motorcade * Donald Trump
visit :
Donald J. Trump is the very definition of the American success story, continually setting the standards of excellence while expanding his interests in real estate, sports, and entertainment. He is the archetypal businessman – a deal maker without peer.
Mr. Trump started his business career in an office he shared with his father in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. He worked with his father for five years, where they were busy making deals together. Mr. Trump has been quoted as saying, “My father was my mentor, and I learned a tremendous amount about every aspect of the construction industry from him.” Likewise, Fred C. Trump often stated that “some of my best deals were made by my son, Donald...everything he touches seems to turn to gold.” Mr. Trump then entered the very different world of Manhattan real estate.
In New York City and around the world, the Trump signature is synonymous with the most prestigious of addresses. Among them are the world-renowned Fifth Avenue skyscraper, Trump Tower, and the luxury residential buildings, Trump Parc, Trump Palace, Trump Plaza, 610 Park Avenue, The Trump World Tower (the tallest building on the East Side of Manhattan), and Trump Park Avenue. Mr. Trump was also responsible for the designation and construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Center on land controlled by him, known as the West 34th Street Railroad Yards, and the total exterior restoration of the Grand Central Terminal as part of his conversion of the neighboring Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The development is considered one of the most successful restorations in the City and earned Mr. Trump an award from Manhattan’s Community Board Five for the “tasteful and creative recycling of a distinguished hotel.” Over the years, Mr. Trump has owned and sold many great buildings in New York including the Plaza Hotel (which he renovated and brought back to its original grandeur, as heralded by the New York Times Magazine), the St. Moritz Hotel (three times…and now called the Ritz Carlton on Central Park South) and until 2002, the land under the Empire State Building (which allowed the land and lease to be merged together for the first time in over 50 years). Additionally, the NikeTown store is owned by Mr. Trump, on East 57th Street and adjacent to Tiffany’s. In early 2008, Gucci opened their largest store in the world in Trump Tower.

⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Walking NYC : New York City Hall Area & Civic Center, Manhattan
Google Maps Route:
A walk through New York's Civic Center, walking through streets such as Centre Street, Broadway, Chambers Street, Duane Street, Worth Street, and Foley Square.
From Wikipedia:
The Civic Center is the area of lower Manhattan, New York City, that encompasses New York City Hall, One Police Plaza, the courthouses in Foley Square, and the surrounding area. The district is bound on the west by Tribeca at Broadway, on the north by Chinatown at Worth Street or Bayard Street, on the east by the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge at South Street, and on the south by the Financial District at Ann Street.
Although government-related activities are predominant, other pursuits also occur within the district, including entertainment, industrial activity, residential dwellings, and warehousing. For example, there are Chinese restaurants near Civic Center's border with Chinatown, in addition to some museums and some residential buildings in the Civic Center area. The area is roughly 10 blocks long and 5 blocks wide, but is far less dense than most of Manhattan, where the average number of residents for an area that size is 35,000; the Civic Center has approximately 20,000 residents.
The Jacob K. Javits Federal Building is located in the area. It includes the Federal Bureau of Investigation New York field office.
Non-government buildings include the 387 feet (118 m) 15 Park Row, an office and residential building which was the city's highest from 1899 to 1908. 150 Nassau Street, a 21-story granite building, was once a publisher's building, as were many in the area, but is now a residential building, as is 38 Park Row. The 76-story 8 Spruce Street is among the world's tallest residential buildings. Southbridge Towers, once Mitchell-Lama affordable housing, is now market-rate housing.

We are Student Activists United (SAU) that consists of students in NYC that are working collectively to create change in the education system. Through the use of action and media, we raise awareness of Bloomberg's failed policies and the effect of these policies on NYC students. Our current demand is that we be heard and ideas for new policies come from the community. We want schools to be fixed with authentic community input.
