Hagi (萩), a former castle town, is located along the coast of the Sea of Japan in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Historically, it is known as the capital of the Mori Clan which governed Yamaguchi Prefecture for over 250 years.
Hagi is best known for its local Hagiyaki Pottery. This type of pottery is among the best in Japan.
Hagi is well preserved. With several old samurai and merchant residents still intact, visitors can enjoy this historic town.

You can photograph famous paintings! Kitakyushu Museum of Art / Sukiccha (2018/9/18OA)
Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art, nicknamed Binoculars on the hill for its appearance. The museum is itself an artwork designed by the architect Isozaki Arata. Its collection of the world’s great paintings includes works of the Impressionists as well as ukiyo-e. This summer, some of those holdings were opened to picture-taking. The pictures taken can even be posted on SNS! For our program, Anne Crescini of the USA experienced this new way to enjoy the museum: photographing famous paintings.

Solo in Japan | Exploring Kyoto in a Kimono | Kyoto Vlog 1
✮ Watch in HD ✮
This took a while to edit and get uploaded but here it is! My trip to Japan would've not been complete without trying on a Kimono. I have always wanted to wear one of these if I ever go to Japan, dream come true!! I went to Fushimi-Inari to take photos and that was also my way of paying tribute to Memoirs of Geisha (remember the scene where young Sayuri runs through torii gates?). I hope you guys enjoy watching the vlog. If you ever go to Japan, 100% recommended to rent a kimono. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Calligraphy Exhibition Held in Taiwan to Remember War of Jiawu
A calligraphy exhibition opened on Friday in Taipei to remember China's bitter defeat in the War of Jiawu.
The day marked the 120th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Shimonoseki, signed in 1895 at the end of the war which forced the Qing Dynasty of China to cede Taiwan Island to Japanese rule.
Over 300 pieces of calligraphy works featuring the historical period were displayed.
The Treaty of Shimonoseki was one of the most malicious and worst treaties our country had signed with invading powers, and it was also one of the treaties that had the worst impact on the Chinese people. On this occasion of anniversary, we all the more need to refelct on the history and think what led us to the defeat in the war, said Zhang Biao, counselor of the Chinese Calligraphers Association.
One calligraphy on display reading We would rather die as indignant people than linger on as prisoners, was written by the great grandfather of Wang Yifu, chairman of the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots.
The writings, included in a joint statement, were submitted by then Chinese intellectuals to the Qing government
I am deeply moved every time I read these words. I think all of us must remember our ancestors and honor their will so that we Chinese people will never have such a fate, said Wang.
Statistics show a total of 650,000 residents in Taiwan were killed in the fight against Japanese aggression from 1895 to 1945 when the Imperial Japanese Army declared its defeat in World War II.
I believe the exhibition has special significance to the young generation of Taiwan, who have been affected by de-sinification sentiments. The exhibition once again presents them with the history through an artistic form. I'm rather concerned about whether the new generation of Taiwan will be modest enough to understand that part of history of Taiwan, said Lan Bozhou, chairman of the Cross-Strait Peaceful Development Association. HAKKENDEN A Little place to eat in Iwakuni Japan
We only ate here once when we were first stationed here a few years ago, so we thought we would re-visit. This little place serves little portion of food at a time, mostly on a stick. Iwakuni, Japan.

song: cyclone by 12012
I hope hiroshima didnt offend anyone
Description of what is what:
At first you see the shibuya crossing, the largest pedestrian crossing in the world, in Tokyo, filmed from the starbucks.
Then you see me cycling through Kyoto around 9-10 PM
The photos:
The golden pavilion, Kyoto
A buddha statue in Nagoya, near Motoyama
The big statue insite Todai-ji, Nara
The japanese flag is the one that flies at the hiroshima memorial museum. Sadly, every time I tried to photograph it, the wind turned in a bad direction -_-;;
Then you see a model of hiroshima after, before, and after the atomic explosion, to show the difference, merged with the photo of the flag.
Then another model in the Hiroshima memorial museum, the orange ball depicting where the bomb went off. (entry to that museum is just ¥50 or about half a dollar :O)
Then you see a park in Nara, filmed from a bench.
Then you see me feeding the deer at Nara park. Quite awesome animals ^^
The photos are a seaside city/village southeast of nagoya, beyond the chubu centrair airport. Sadly I do not know the name of the village. Then you see a picture of an expressway there (they do drive on the left hand side!)
Then you see me at a temple close to the Kiyomizu-dera. The people there try to walk the distance between 2 stones with their eyes closed. legend says that if you do it, you will find your final love. But if you need help walking it, you will need help finding love. I needed help o.O but thankfully some japanese girls shouted lefuto and raito ^^ how nice =)
Then you see a photo of Himeji-castle, then from inside the castle and then from the himeji-gardens (2x).
Then the 700 series shinkansen (hikari Rail star, I was on a rail pass)
Then some photos of the endless tori pathway near Kyoto, i forgot the name.
Then follow some photos of Hiroshima, with the bombed dome at first, the sadoko statue and the poem, the crane bird origami art, then some rapid photos of stuff in the museum. I am not too sure what is what, but believe me: its serious...
then we see some photos taken on the miyajima ferry, going to the floating torii, and a photo of the torii taken from the temple at miyajima.
then the view from the top of miyajima, and then you see me all sweaty (extremely hot XD ich danke den Deutscher der das Photo genommen hat)
then some photos of the temple in kyoto with the zen-stone garden. I wish I remembered that name as well -.-;;
then you see a festival in nagoya, with cosplayers walking by.
then you see me again, eating hiroshima-style okonomiyaki
then you see some young children lighting fireworks. It was fun as the excursion was also for them to learn the english language. Glad I was of some help =) [even though Im dutch]
Then you see the beginning of the nagoya festival, i will upload the true video later as the music is just awesome, the orchestra carried around
the last photos:
gion, kyoto (geisha district)
nagoya festival, again
nagoya aquarium
an empty yamanote line
