Their different costumes and wears, utensils, architecture, monumental erections and memorial set-up depict their dexterity in art, which also speak of their sense of beauty and finesse
The Shirui Hills is known for a unique species of land-lily, the Shirui Lily which grows at a height of about 8,500 ft above sea level. It was declared as the State Flower of Manipur in 1989. The flower is today considered an endangered species. The Shirui Hills is considered one of the most interesting treks in Manipur. The Shirui Lily plant is about a foot tall and its flower resembles the shape of a bell. It blooms only during the months of April to June every year. The hills of Shirui commands a panoramic view of the district of Ukhrul and during flowering seasons the bright lilies cover the stretch of the Shirui Hill range. The scenic view of the hill range covered with lilies makes it a wonderful picture perfect location.

Shirui Kashong Peak is a popular tourist attraction, lying at an altitude of 2,835 m above sea level. The peak is famous for two main reasons - most of the major rivers flowing across Ukhrul originate from the slopes and crevices of the peak. Secondly, it is the place where the famous Shirui lilies grow in this place. The flower blooms for a short period of time during the months of May and June. The Shirui lily (which has been declared as the state flower of Manipur) grows only here thus attracting many botanists from around the world. The locals call the flower Kashung Timrawon and according to local belief, a kind spirit rests on the flower. The Shirui Kashong Peak is also home to rare birds such as Mrs. Hume’s bar-backed pheasant and Blyth’s Tragopan. The peak is just 18 km away from Ukhrul lying to the east of the district headquarters.

You plan to go shirui Kashung(Peak)
1. Shirui Kashung is around 100 km from Imphal, It is connected by Bus from Imphal. Or Tourist can hire Taxi.
2. Let you bring one half pant and sun protection cream or lotion, if you plan to go to top of Shirui hill. Pack some water too. Full charge recommended for your cam/smart phone before going to top of Shirui.
3. Pack some light food like Poha, Banana, ORS, Fruits etc to boost your energy at the top of hill.
4. With my experience Airtel, Aircel, Idea( other may be) is working at top shirui. ➡ Jio not available.
5. If you plan to hold a night, Go up to shirui hill guest house or at town.
6. If you wish to experience nature sight and camping, holding a night at camp, Go to Lunghar village site.
7. Accommodation is available at Urkhul town, Ranging from Rs 300 to 1000/- (higher price may be also there). No five star hotel.

The sLilium mackliniae, the Shirui lily or Siroi lily, is a rare Indian species of plant found only in the upper reaches of the Siroi hill ranges in the Ukhrul district of Manipur, India, at an elevation of 1,730–2,590 metres (5,680–8,500 ft) above sea level. It is located near the boundary of Myanmar to the east, Shiroi village in the west, Choithar village in the south and Sihai village in the north.
It is the state flower of Manipur, but unfortunately it has become an endangered species in India. A postal stamp was issued by the Indian Postal Department to commemorate this flower. (

We’d so much fun chatting, laughing out loud, tears (chirekta), recollecting our past memories, and above all with lots of yummy food (Hao Hoksa, Harsa, Khai, Ayangthei, Skos, Salad, Kasathei Nai, etc.).
Most of our classmates couldn’t join the gathering due to various reasons. Nonetheless, we did mention each & everyone of you in our conversation including teachers & some juniors.

The North East Tamchon Football Tournament is an annual Northeast Community football tournament, which caters and works for exposing the young talents of the region to the various national and international platforms. Since its inception in 2007 more than 3000 football players have participated in the tournament. The outcome of the tournament has been gratifying to say the least. More than one hundred players who played in this tournament are now placed in the most elite national and regional football clubs of the country.
The North East Tamchon Tournament was initiated with the dual aim of promoting the latent talents of the youth of the region in sports and thereby fostering “UNITY, FRIENDSHIP, UNDERSTANDING and SPORTSMANSHIP” within the northeast community and amongst different communities of Delhi. The Tournament has truly become an important event of the Northeast community of Delhi to display the rich diverse cultural heritage of the region to the country and the world. The tournament provides not only an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate their rich culture, but it has also provided many budding artists, the platform and a chance to show their talents. The resounding success of the tournament has also provided a good opportunity for corporates and institutions to exhibits their products and concerns.
