Enoshima Line (江ノ島線 -sen) travels 6.6 km (4.1 mi) every seven to eight minutes between Ōfuna Station and Enoshima, making six stops. The average length of a single trip is 14 minutes

A ride onboard the Shonan Monorail (Enoshima Line), a suspended monorail operated by the Shonan Monorail Co., Ltd. Weaving through housing areas, the line is mostly single-tracked with passing points at regular intervals.

The suspended monorail concept was used here due to its low interference with ground-level developments and the large variations in altitude along its route. The line has 8 stations, passes through two tunnels along the way, with a end-to-end journey time of 14 minutes.

This train is a three-car 5000 series. Frequencies are roughly 8 trains per hour in each direction throughout the day.

Shonan Monorail Enoshima to Ōfuna 湘南モノレール タイムラプス Time-lapse cab view PART 1

The Shonan Monorail, located an hour South of Tokyo, Japan, is a fun monorail to watch and ride. It follows narrow roads, climbs steep hills, runs through tunnels, and goes places that conventional railroad would not fit. This video shows the monorail route from the Shonan-Enoshima Station to Ofuna Station. There is a time-lapse cab view at the end.

This video follows the monorail northbound, while my second video follows the monorail southbound.

江ノ島へのアクセスではあまり目立たない存在の湘南モノレールですが、それなりの歴史があり、乙な乗り物です。じっくりと楽しむのであれば一日券を買うとよいです。往復するだけで元が取れます。
今回はそんな湘南モノレールの最後尾車両からの背面展望をノーカットでお楽しみください。見終わったときには三半規管がやられてきっとクラクラになると思いますよ 笑
