Thai food markets are one of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food, or to buy groceries and fruit while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets and night market all around Thailand, and heaps around Phuket. At the markets you'll find so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods here are cheap, and so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it for 3 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!
The markets in Thailand are a great place to get an insight into Thai culture while you travel in Thailand. You can shop alongside the locals and learn what they buy and eat. And the markets are a great place to try traditional Thai street foods, learn Thai recipes and cooking, as well as eat some of the best Thai dishes in Thailand. You'll see the people cooking the food right in front of you. And best of all, the food is cheap, often much cheaper than eating in a Thai restaurant. Eating at a Thai market is a good way to eat cheap on your Thailand holidays.
Make sure you check out some Thai Food Markets on your Phuket holiday, and be sure to sample some of the amazing Thai street food that's available in Thailand! If you want to try some of the most delicious food in the world be sure to visit Thailand!
Subscribe to my channel for my latest blog and for more videos on what to do in Thailand and what to eat in Thailand. Krabi is about 2-3 hours from Phuket by land or sea, and has world class accommodation standards comparable to what you find in Phuket hotels and resorts, but in a more relaxed environment.
If you're looking into Thailand Hotels have a look at hotels and resorts in Krabi. The islands and beaches of Krabi are famous for Thailand holidays, the movie The Beach was filmed on Krabi's Koh Phi Phi Island.

Karon Beach, Beaches in Phuket - Karon
Karon Beach, Beaches in Phuket, Karon:
Karon Beach Guide
Everything You Need To Know About Karon
Karon features the third longest beach on Phuket Island. Located on the west coast, between Patong to the north and Kata (with which it shares a common municipality) to the south, Karon Beach is the second favourite holiday destination in Phuket. The beach itself has excellent snorkeling (and even diving) spots at its southern end and is wide enough for beachgoers to never feel crowded.
It features three main areas, each with their own assets: Karon Centre is a lively small city in which visitors can find a good choice of dining, shopping, and nightlife entertainment opportunities as well as a beautiful Buddhist temple hosting a weekly market. Karon Beach road is ideal for taking an evening stroll and is mostly occupied by large resorts interrupted by restaurants and shops (including the popular Karon Bazaar). The third main area of Karon is centred around Luang Poh Chuan Road, towards the southern end of the beach, which houses excellent restaurants and the ‘hottest’ nightlife spot of the resort town. Best Pad Thai on planet earth - The Pad Thai Shop, Karon, Phuket
Normally if it is written in a travel guide that this is a must-go place to eat I avoid those restaurants or food stands. This time, I was craving for some Pad Thai, I took my chances and searched for the Pad Thai Shop along Th Patak East. It wasn't that easy to find and even people at our hotel or on the streets didn't know about it. But at the end it was well worth it. The Pad Thai (50 Baht) was great, as well as all the other dishes we tried (we went there twice). This place seems to be still a local hangout and it is getting crowded during lunch hours.
My travel guide wrote about this place:
On the busy main road behind Karon, just north of the tacky Ping Pong Bar, is this glorified food stand where you can find rich and savoury chicken stew (worthy of rave reviews on its own right), and the best pat tai on planet earth. Spicy and sweet, packed with prawns, tofu, egg and peanuts, and wrapped in a fresh banana leaf, you will be gratefull. It closes at around 7pm.

LW Ep.32: Shopping and Eating in Phuket
The long awaited return of 'Down the Corridor and up the Back Passage' is upon us! After the pure chill out session that was Koh Phayam, I head to the other end of the spectrum in Patong Beach, Phuket. In this episode, I'll check out the Jungceylon Mall and grab a bite to eat nearby. Might have have a massage on the way home, but only if there's time (there's always time)!
Naka Night Market - Shopping heaven Phuket Weekend Market
Phuket Weekend Market
What you will find always is a huge selection of clothing (new and secondhand), shoes, bags and luggage, fashion accessories, costume jewelry and items for home decoration. There will also be a bewildering choice of electronic goods mobile phones, watches, toys, etc plus CD’s and DVD’s (watch out for − and avoid − the pirated ones).
If you are after handicraft items like tooled leather goods, Buddha images or second-hand books, you will also not be disappointed.
Our overseas visitors may not be planning to buy a pet but it’s fun to window shop the amazing range of endearing and unusual animals offered for sale.
It is a well known fact that shopping makes you hungry so you will be glad to know that there is a huge selection of Thai snacks and local street food on offer, all freshly prepared on the spot. Rice dishes, noodles, fruit and nuts are all available. If you are adventurous why not try some fried insects. If you can get your head past what they are you will find them quite tasty (a bit like roasted peanuts) and they are an excellent source of protein.
Market prices are keen but you should be prepared to bargain. How good a deal you get depends on your skills. Always remember to keep your temper and smile. There is no point in getting into a heated argument over ten baht!
It’s a great day out and there is a fun park for the children and often concerts and stage performances to entertain you too.
The market opens at 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays – when it is cooler. It is a good idea to arrive early to avoid the crowds and traffic. Parking can be a

REAL ESTATE TYCOON, AUTHOR AND PHILANTHROPIST, CEO PROPERTY IN PHUKET
Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, Andres has always dreamt of living in a sunny town. He was unhappy in gloomy weather and his life was going nowhere. In an unfortunate turn of events, his grandfather died and left him $2,000 inheritance in which he’d bought a flight ticket to Asia without hesitation. When he arrived to Thailand at the age of 20, he has never left.
Thailand hasn’t been easy on Andres. With no contacts, jobs, or knowledge of Thai language, he quickly ran out of financial funds and became homeless. Too embarrassed to request help from his family, he slept his life away on the beach of Phuket on his last $100. He finally asked a friend upon desperation and hunger, that friend answered, “I won’t give you any money, but I’ll give you a book that might help you.” Both angry with hunger and upset from the response, Andres went on empty-stomach and read the book ‘The Secret’. From that moment on, his life has completely

Wiki writes about Phuket, Phuket (Thai: ภูเก็ต, [pʰūː.kèt] is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. It consists of the island of Phuket, the country's largest island, and another 32 smaller islands off its coast. It lies off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Phuket Island is connected by bridge to Phang Nga Province to the north. The next nearest province is Krabi, to the east across Phang Nga Bay.
Phuket Province has an area of 576 square kilometers (222 sq mi), somewhat less than that of Singapore, and is the second-smallest province of Thailand. It formerly derived its wealth from tin and rubber, and enjoys a rich and colorful history. The island was on one of the major trading routes between India and China, and was frequently mentioned in foreign ship logs of Portuguese, French, Dutch, and English traders. The region now derives much of its income from tourism...
The Phuket Weekend Market also known as the Chao Fa Market or Talad Tai, is located on the Chao Fa West Road opposite the Wat Naka, Buddhist temple and about a kilometer from the Central Festival Shopping Mall. We highly recommend that tourists take a taxi or tuk tuk to this night market as it is quite far from the Central Festival Shopping Mall if you do not know where you are heading. We took a Tuk Tuk from Patong Beach to the market and paid 500 Baht for the trip (good price). The journey back to Patong Beach in a taxi (on this occasions) cost us 800 Baht. We would imagine that the drive from Kata Beach, Karon Beach and Kammala Beach with a taxi or Tuk Tuk would be a similar price, perhaps a little more for the Kammala ride...

World's Best Convenience Store? (7-ELEVEN THAILAND)
It’s funny because where I grew up (Arizona), I never thought of 7-Eleven being a desirable place to visit. The only reason I'd ever go to 7-Eleven to fill up my gas tank and/or get a slurpee.
But in Thailand (and many Asian countries), 7-Eleven takes on a completely new meaning. It’s your one stop shop for anything and everything you can think of. 7-Eleven pretty much the World's Best convenience store in the history of mankind.
Inside 7-Eleven, you can find (literally) thousands of unique food and beverage options — but even beyond that, 7-Eleven is a place where you can pay your phone & internet bills, schedule mail for pick up, purchase sporting event tickets and grab all of your toiletries and cosmetics.
Thailand alone has over 11,000 7-Eleven locations (the second-most behind Japan) and it does 500 billion Baht ($15B USD) in revenue a year. It's hard to explain how incredible this store is unless you've been to Thailand (or Asia) and experienced it for yourself.
What are you thoughts on 7-Eleven? Anyone else agree with me?
