Sicily Emotional CM 2017

The SCARIEST PLACE in SICILY? Catacombe dei Cappuccini -- Palermo, Sicily, Italy // 158
I was actually terrified as I walked down the dark, cold hallway lined with hanging corpses. Hundreds of people who have passed away have been set in these catacombs as a reminder of the surety of death and the fragility of life. My biggest takeaway: in the end, we are all the same, but the thing that matters is how he make the world a better place while we are living!
Visiting the Cappuccini Catacombs in Palermo, Sicily was the first of many trips to come where I take fearlessness to a whole new level. The Catacombe dei Cappuccini have been ranked among the scariest places to travel in the world. As I walked passed the countless corpses, I realized why.
If you're on a budget travel trip in Sicily or Italy, you must make a stop at this humbling and terrifying place in Palermo, Sicily. The Catacombe dei Cappuccini will leave you humbled, adrenaline-filled, and with a changed outlook on life and death.

Palermo archbishop overwhelmed with emotion as synagogue returned after 524 years
In the end, he was not able to hold his tears. The archbishop of Palermo failed to repress the emotion when receiving the Medal of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, for the return of the synagogue that was expropriated 524 years ago to the Jewish Palermitan community.
“I stand before you as one who, along with a medal, also receives from you a heartfelt friendship which also reaches the hearts of the Christians of Palermo,” confessed Monsignor Corrado Lorefice during the ceremony, which took place on 29 June.
The celebration became a historic moment for Sicily. This unprecedented gesture brought together representatives of all religions present on the island. Particularly appreciated was the presence of several Muslim religious leaders from the Sicilian capital, who wanted to witness the importance of this gesture of reconciliation for all of society.
