Berlin, Germany Sightseeing Tour
In summer of 2006, Danny and Michael continue their European tour in Berlin, Germany. View their amazing sights of the Berlin Wall from their hotel room across the street and close up. Michael plays with the largest table football using 1-mere Buddy Bear figures for the 2006 Berlin Football World Cup. They then trek over to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, which was badly damaged in a bombing raid in 1943. Next on the list is Check Point Charlie, which was the name given by the Western Allies to the best known Berlin Wall crossing point between the East and West during the Cold War. Danny and Michael observe a protest at Brandenburg Gate. Completing the tour, they head over to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, which was primarily used for political prisoners from 1936-1945.

Free Walking Tour - Berlin GERMANY
Took the free walking tour in Berlin during the first weekend of May. It was very busy and we had to wait about 25 minutes for the tour to finally take us in.
It's reccomended you book the free walking tour ahead of time. The meeting point is Paris Platz (sp) or Paris Square next to the Starbucks. You'll see the people with the red jackets or red umbrellas. Can't remember their tour company name.
It's about a 2-3 hour walking tour and covers several miles. Make sure to dress appropriately and wear good shoes.
Tipping is recommended. We figured if they charge about 15 euro for a 6 hour tour, we gave 5 euro tip for 2 hours. I don't know if that was ultimately fair, still trying to figure out the euro/usd conversion.
Berlin in 5 Days — What to Do, See and Eat + Day Trips! | The Travel Intern
Berlin is indeed a beautiful city that marries its rich past and diverse present. Here's our adventures from the five days that we were in Berlin, including two day trips that we took to neighbouring regions, Potsdam and Spreewald:
00:16 - Scoot
Fly direct to Berlin from Singapore via Scoot! Highly recommend getting the long haul bundle meal too.
00:21 - Berlin Welcome Card
For unlimited travel and discounted entrance fees, grab a Berlin Welcome Card for tourists only. Super worth it, and super fuss-free too!
00:26 - Brandenburg Gate
This was once a symbol of division during the Cold War, but it now stands for and signifies German unity and freedom.
00:35 - Checkpoint Charlie
Checkpoint Charlie was the only point from which foreigners could enter East Berlin from the West while the Berlin Wall was still up. Today, you can take a photograph with the actors dressed as American soldiers for 3 Euros! Otherwise, you can snap shots but it might be a little tricky!
00:45 - Reichstag Building, Reichstag Dome
Up here, you can get a fantastic panoramic view of Berlin's city centre and learn more about the history of this building! Make sure to book your tickets to visit the Dome though, because slots run out very quickly. Don't worry, it's free!
00:54 - Mauerpark
In the summer on Sundays, everyone's welcome to a mass karaoke session in the amphitheatre. The vintage market also draws lots of people to Mauerpark, young and old!
01:06 - Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap
Touted as one of the best kebap joints in Berlin, you can queue up to an hour on certain days, no matter the season (yes, even in Winter in the snow..) If you're ever in Berlin, you HAVE to get one of these kebaps. Super yummy!
01:15 - Markthalle Neun
Enjoy a wide variety of food on Street Food Thursdays in Markthalle Neun, from mac and cheese to slow-cooked boar, to artisanal ice-cream.
01:26 - Kneipe Klo
Also known as a toilet-themed bar in Berlin, this bar has decorations lining the entire place that make it seem like it was made for Halloween 24/7! Warning: beware of jumpscares around every corner.
01:43 - Berlin Wall Memorial
Where the Berlin Wall once stood, there are remnants of border houses that stood in between East and West Berlin in the past.
01:53 - Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
Home to 2,711 concrete slabs designed by American architect Peter Eisenman, its symbolism is open to interpretation, with the most common being that of a graveyard.
02:00 - Topography of Terror (Topographie des Terrors)
Once the most feared site of Berlin, it has now been converted into a free public museum for visitors to learn more about the history of Berlin during the Nazi regime.
02:09 - Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
Just 35 kilometres away from Berlin, Oranienburg houses the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. We recommend going on the tour led by SANDEMANs walking tours.
02:25 - East Side Gallery
The longest open air gallery in the world that's free of charge and spans 1.3 kilometres.
02:35 - Burgermeister
This joint used to house a public toilet, but has since been converted into one of Berlin's most popular burger joints. Super juicy meat patties!
02:47 - Spreewald, Lübbenau (Biosphärenreservat Spreewald)
Take a day trip one hour out of Berlin to the cozy city of Spreewald. The punt tours are a must-do, so book that early! Also, don't forget to try their specialties — gherkins!
03:03 - Potsdam
40 minutes from Berlin, this is another day trip that you should take. It really felt like stepping into a fairytale! Check out Sanssouci and the Neue Palais (New Palace)!
Stay till the end of the video to find out how we felt and what our favourite experiences were!

Berlin, Germany ???????? - Walking tour on a chilly day in Feb' 2019
Hey explorers!
Tracey and I went to Berlin for her birthday weekend in February (2019). It was cold but sunny and we had an amazing time in Berlin. As you can imagine, there is so much history in this beautiful city.
I vlogged using the DJI Osmo Pocket. What do we think? Do we like it. Some of the audio was literally scratchy in places.

The TOP 10 sights and attractions in Germany - The Berlin Wall
The most popular sights for 2015!
Visitors from all over the world travel to Germany to see architectural treasures and fascinating places of natural beauty. Travelers to Germany from over 40 countries named their personal favorite.
Shared 8th place: The Berlin Wall (East Side Gallery, Berlin Wall Park, Berlin Wall Trail, Checkpoint Charlie Museum in Berlin)
From 1961 to 1989 the Berlin Wall divided the city in two. Most of this concrete structure has since been torn down, but fragments do remain a feature of the city. The Berlin Wall Trail, a route for walkers and cyclists split into 14 sections, follows the path of the former wall. Information panels installed at 30 points tell the story of the Berlin Wall. The colourful and recently restored East Side Gallery in Friedrichshain is a piece of the hinterland wall that in 1990 was painted by artists from 21 countries. On Bernauer Strasse, where there is a replica section of the Berlin Wall, you can also visit a memorial site, a documentation centre and the Chapel of Reconciliation.

Berlin, Germany in 1Day | NCL cruise Excursion|
** Baltic Sea cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line Breakaway**
Hi everyone! Here's the first port of call from our NCL Baltic Sea cruise. The port was actually a 2.5 hour train ride from Berlin, thus we spent an entire day in Germany. For the excursion, NCL has variety of excursions to offer, and we decided the most family friendly activity, called Best of Berlin. Best of Berlin, consist of going around the city and visit some of the famous attractions Berlin has. Not only are these attractions famous, they're also the attractions written in history books! This is great for kids or teens who's studying world history. They'll actually learn on site!
The only thing not included in this tour was the holocaust concentration camps. (However, NCL do have some excursions with the concentration camps in it).
Tip: The excursion is a fast pace tour. Basically a 10 - 15 minute stop on each attraction to take some pictures. So if you're taking this tour, you have to be aware of the time. If you're late to go back to the bus, the longer EVERYBODY has to wait for you, the more time spent in one attraction and the lesser time spent on the other. As long as everybody in your tour comply with time, you'll enjoy the attractions more.
** Attractions include **
- Check Point Charlie
- Berlin Wall
- Holocaust Memorial
- Bebel Square
- Victory Column (Passed by here)
- Brandenburg Gate
- Charlottenburg Palace

The East Side Gallery is the longest remaining strip of the of the former dividing wall between East and West Berlin. Today the 1.3 kilometer long wall stands as a memorial to freedom and it is covered in art and graffiti. Right now we're visiting Brandenburg Gate. This gate dates back to the 18th Century. We're here at Tiergarten, one of the biggest parks in the city. MauerPark is a hipster hangout. If you head over to the Bear Pit you can catch some karaoke and musical performances. If you want to spot some cool street art, then head over to Friedrichshain. You can't come to Berlin and not eat a Currywurst! This is the city's most popular fast food snack. The sausage is served with a ketchup and curry powder concoction. Up next we're at the Reichstag building which has a pretty cool glass dome on top. This dome is actually open to visitors and it offers 360 degree views of the city. Today we're visiting Tempelhof, a re-purposed airport here in Berlin for leisure activities and sports. If you enjoy museums and art galleries you'll want to visit Berlin's Museum Island. They actually have five different museums here and if you get a daily pass for 18 Euros you get access to all five. We are now visiting the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin. It is also known as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Charlottenburg Palace is the largest palace in Berlin and the only surviving royal residence in the city. Checkpoint Charlie was one of the crossing points between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Located near Alexanderplatz, The Berlin TV Tower offers a great lookout over the city. Chocolate! Ritter Sport is a chocolate brand that is sold all over Germany, and while in Berlin we couldn't resist sampling a few of the different varieties. Berlin Cathedral is located on Museum Island and it's one of the most beautiful churches in the city. If Currywurst is to your liking, you'll want to check out this quirky museum devoted to Berlin's favorite sausage. Renting a bike is a great way to get around the city. Most places will rent out bikes at 10 Euros per day. For a leisurely afternoon, hop on a boat and enjoy a tour down the River Spree. Of course, you cannot come to Berlin and not eat a Wurst or a sausage. The Friedrichshain flea market takes place every Sunday and it's a great place for people watching and a little browsing. The Germans sure know how to enjoy a hearty breakfast, and we recommend you try it too.
We couldn't resist visiting yet another cat cafe while we were in Berlin.
While in Berlin we enjoyed a hearty meal of Schnitzel. It's quite easy to get around Berlin using the U-bahn and S-bahn system. In Berlin, there is a big Turkish population and that means there is awesome Turkish street food. And that's Berlin for you! A city that has risen from the ashes of the war, which is now bursting with art, music, and life.
