PHNOM PENH TO SIHANOUKVILLE BY ROAD
The road journey from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville is quite an enjoyable one. From the busy traffic of the capital to the more pleasant road towards the coast, the journey is usually about five or six hours. The minibus cost about $10, then maybe a $5 Tuk Tuk.
I have decided not to include any music in this video, rather let the sights and sounds of a road journey through Cambodia speak for themselves. On the road you will encounter strange little vehicles, trucks overtaking dangerously and cows leaping out of nowhere!
For those who have never been to Cambodia and wonder what a road journey would be like, I hope you will find this informative.

Take Motor Taxi to Phsar Leu Market at Sihanoukville | Lots of Great Street Foods To Try
After breakfast, I took a motor taxi to Phsar Leu Market at Krong Preah Sihanouk (Sihanoukville) to see as I haven't been there for nearly 1 year. There's no much change from last year as I can find the fruit stalls and vendors in front of the front market entrance. They have lots of street foods in the market like banana cake, rainbow cake, sweet potato cake, Cambodian waffles, pineapple, boiled corns, duck eggs, quail eggs, noodle soup stalls and many others. I tried some of those foods and it's really good. The price for motor taxi from the 2 Lions circle to Phsar Leu market is 6000riel (USD1.50). I spent about $2 to try those street foods in the market.
I hope that you enjoyed watching this video.

A Moto Ride in Sihanoukville, Cambodia
The most common, cheapest, and most dangerous form of transportation in Cambodia is the motodop, or motorcycle taxi. I usually opt for the relative safety of a tuktuk, but on this occasion I found myself in the Sihanoukville fishing port at dusk, with no tuktuk or taxi either in sight or likely to pass by. So I took my life in my hands, and paid $1.75 for a fifteen minute ride from the port to my hotel. It was getting dark, the road was bumpy,so please forgive the poor quality of this film.

The Future of Sihanoukville
Sihanoukville Hotel, Holiday Villa Nataya, Serendipity Beach, Sihanoukville Cambodia
Holiday Villa Nataya is perfectly situated on Serendipity Road, about 70 meters from the pier that will take you to the Koh Rong Islands. It's also a short walk to the bars and nightlife area in Serendipity Sihanoukville which includes Sihanoukville Square. Inside, they have a nice little coffee shop in the foyer that makes good coffee, they also have a small selection of cookies and cakes.
During my time in Sihanoukville i spent 3 weeks here over 2 stays, 7 nights to the first time and 2 weeks the 2nd time. I stayed in 3 different rooms during that time, 2 of those rooms had a both and each room was of a high standard. The rooms are very modern, clean as the Holiday Villa Nataya is only 3-4 years old (2016).
I paid $29 USD per night, and that price did not include breakfast, for an extra $5 USD breakfast is included. Please keep in mind i stayed during low season so don’t expect $29 USD all year round. Hotel prices rises during the busy and high season.
Holiday Villa has over 20 hotels all over the world. based on my experience i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for clean, high standard accommodation in Sihanoukville Cambodia at a very reasonable price.
I’m told Holiday Villa is a family owned business with most, if not all of the owners children being educated in western country’s. I think this is evident through the quality of staff, hotel cleanliness, customer service and the overall Western standards one would expect.
Alot of people would agree that hotels in Cambodia can be little bit run down, a little bit dirty, a little bit neglected but overall Holiday villa Nataya was up to the DF standard by a mile.
At $29 USD per night it’s a really nice hotel and great value for money. I did look at a few $25 USD a night hotel rooms but in my opinion for the extra $4 Holiday Villa shits all over them. 1 thing i will say is on my recent travels around Asia, this was one of the best value for money hotels i stayed in.
There is a swimming pool, it doesn’t get to much sunlight during the day so probably not the best for lying poolside and getting a tan, however the beach is on a stones throw away if you want to do that. Last but not least they do have a small gym, enough to get in a full body workout and some cardio, whilst looking over the pool.

Taxi From Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville | Visit Koh Rong
If you’re looking for a bit of comfort for your trip from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, then a private taxi is your best option. The journey will take approximately 4 hours in total and there is some absolutely stunning scenery along the way.
On average a private taxi from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville will cost in the region of $60 (that's usually the quote from Phnom Penh airport to Sihanoukville). You’ll have the option of stopping for toilet breaks, coffees, and even sightseeing if you wish.
The better services offer nice comfortable cars (e.g. a Lexus 4 x 4) and the drivers will pick you up from your hotel, the airport, or any other location convenient for you.
One thing that we recommend however is to book your taxi in advance. Not only is it cheaper, but Cambodian traffic is very hectic, so the taxi rides can be daunting and frightening if you don’t know your driver. Learn more:

Sihanoukville Islands And Beaches In Cambodia
Sihanoukville Islands And Beaches In Cambodia.
Best islands and beaches in Sihanoukville
The town of Sihanoukville is a province of Cambodia surrounded on three sides by the Bay of Thailand. From the beaches and surrounding hills, many of the country’s small islands can be seen and easily reached. There’s plenty to do and see here, but the main attraction is the array of sandy beaches Sihanoukville has to offer.
Many of the beaches have grass-hut restaurants and bars in which to fill your belly with affordable and delicious local cuisine and drinks. Once you’ve had your fill of sun, sand, and food, check out the Buddhist temples, try your hand at mountain biking or dirt biking, cool off by scuba diving or snorkelling, walk around downtown and the central market, dabble in some shopping, and emerge yourself in the Cambodian culture.
You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to beaches in Sihanoukville. The beaches that line the west contour of the city from north to south are Victory Beach, Lamherkay Beach, Koh Pos Beach, Independence Beach, Sokha Beach, Serendipity Beach, Ochheuteal Beach and Otres Beach. Tourists can take water taxis to the nearby islands for diving, snorkeling, and game fishing.
Ochheuteal Beach is a long and narrow strip of beach lined with casuarina trees, grass umbrellas, rental chairs and little drink huts as well as bigger restaurants and night-time party spots. The northern section has become known as Serendipity Beach and is a popular beach with western tourists, noted for small guesthouse rooms right on the beach. Aside from the guest houses on the beach, there are around 30 beach huts serving good value meals and a wide selection of drinks.

sihanoukville tourist attractions sihanoukville tourism Cambodia 2016 video
Sihanoukville (Khmer: ក្រុងព្រះសីហនុ, Krong Preah Sihanouk), also known as 'Kompong Som' (Khmer: កំពង់សោម), is a coastal city in Cambodia and the capital city of Sihanoukville Province, located at the tip of an elevated peninsula in the country's south-west at the Gulf of Thailand. The city is flanked by an almost uninterrupted string of beaches along its entire coastline and coastal marshlands bordering the Ream National Park in the East. A number of thinly inhabited islands - under Sihanoukville's administration[1] - are in the city's proximity, where in recent years moderate development has helped to attract a sizable portion of Asia's individual travelers, young students and back-packers.
The city, which was named in honour of former king Norodom Sihanouk, had a population of around 89.800 people and approximately 66.700 in its urban center in 2008.[2] Sihanoukville city encompasses the greater part of four of the five communes (Sangkats) of Sihanoukville provinces' Mittakpheap District. A relatively young city, it has evolved parallel to the construction of the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, which commenced in June 1955, as the country's gateway to direct and unrestricted international sea trade. The only deep water port in Cambodia includes a mineral oil terminal and a transport logistics facility.[3] As a consequence, the city grew to become a leading national center of trade, commerce, transport and process manufacturing. Sihanoukville, Phsar Leu Market Tour | Buy Foods and Have Lunch On The Way Home
It's my last video at Phsar Leu Market in Krong Preah Sihanouk (Sihanoukville) in Cambodia, Southeast Asia. I walked to the fishes and veggie part of the market and checked out some street foods like Cambodian donuts, waffles, desserts, fruits, honeycomb, grilled fishes, seafood sauce in bottles and rice selling in the Market. Some people like to buy rice and foods from here to eat at the beach as it's cheaper and easy to choose. I bought some foods and fruits as well for lunch. My brother picked me up from Phsar Leu market around 10:30am and we traveled back to Phnom Penh city but we stopped for lunch at Picnil along National Road No.4.
