The London 6 Day will bring the legendary 6 Day atmosphere back to the UK. We're excited to go and check the event out, but, before the racing starts we wanted to try our hand at riding on the track.
The madison is a key part of 6 Day racing, which is raced in teams of 2. So, Dan and Simon and Matt and Olympic cycling legend Chris Hoy teamed up to see who would be the fastest over 1km.

Highlights of the Track World Cup in Glasgow
In an eventful keirin gold medal race, Boetticher went head to head with Great Britain's Jason Kenny in the final lap. However, Kenny crashed, taking France's Quentin Lafargue with him, while Boetticher held his nerve to take gold. The final World Cup round in Aguascalientes (Mexico) in January will be the decider as three riders currently have 12 points in the overall standings: Boetticher, Fabian Puerta (Colombia) and Lafargue.

Meanwhile, Olympic Champion in the Omnium, Denmark's Lasse Norman Haasen continued his winning streak on the second evening of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup presented by Samsung in Glasgow. After taking gold in the team pursuit with his compatriots on Friday, Haasen went on to dominate the individual pursuit, comfortably beating Ireland's Martyn Irvine in the final. The Danish rider leads the overall World Cup standings after two of the three rounds.
---
Germany's in-form Kristina Vogel picked up her second gold medal of the week, adding keirin gold to the sprint she won on Saturday night. Silver went to Ekaterina Gnidenko, racing for the Petroholding Leningrad team, and bronze went to Hong Kong's Wai Sze Lee.
---
An all-Germany final saw Friday night's team sprint gold medallists Robert Foerstemann and Stefan Boetticher go head to head for gold in the men's sprint final. It was Boetticher who got the better of his countryman, winning the first match and taking the second with a stunning sprint in the final 200m that saw him take gold in emphatic style.
The bronze medal match was contested by Spain's Juan Gascon Peralta and Denis Dmitriev of the Rusvelo team who needed only two matches to beat his rival and claim the bronze.
---
The 2012-2013 UCI Track Cycling World Cup presented by Samsung will continue with the third and final round in Aguascalientes, Mexico, January 17th to 19th 2013.
