Superb and among the most accessible in the country, Tsaghkadzor ski resort is just within 40 minutes drive from the Armenia’s capital Yerevan and the Zvartnots International Airport.
Easy and scenic, the resort is a family-friendly adventure and a great place to introduce anyone to the wonder of skiing and outdoor exploration. With vast, snowy landscapes and horizons rimmed with mountains, the Mount Teghenis is the biggest draw, with its terrain for downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Originally built to train the Soviet athletes for the 1988 Winter Olympics, Tsaghkadzor ski resort offers the diverse ski runs on the mountain slope, ideal for beginners, for amateur and advanced skiers. All lifts are manufactured and operated by the Leitner Group (Italy), and all the chair lifts equipped with magic carpet boarding systems.

It was opened in 1986 adjacent to the Tsaghkadzor Olympic Sports Complex.

Winter in Armenia / Ski resort Tsakhkadzor
The Armenian Ski fields in Tsakhkadzor were the training grounds for the Soviet Olympic team.
The town hosted the USSR Olympic team in 1976, before the Olympics in Mexico.
In Tsakhkadzor is located the Main Sports Complex of Armenia (former USSR main sports complex).
It's height above the sea level is 1900-2100m.

In the Armenian Republic, situated at the slope of Biblical Ararat mount, there is Tsakhkadzor. The town is famous as a center of tourism , skiing, where there is an especially significant chairlift with five stations and more than a dozen ski runs. The Tsakhkadzor Ropeway is located on a slope of Teghenis Mount. From the height of 2819m, all Armenia is visible at a glance – in clear weather, it offers a breathtaking view of Mount Ararat .
There are also cafes, bars, rescue services, the services of first aid, training services for novice skiers etc. All this becomes perfect in combination with the delightful nature and the clean air of sunlit Tsakhkadzor. (Ropeway Tsaghkadzor)

Tsaghkadzor is a popular resort town in the center of Armenia, about an hour outside of the capital of Yerevan. Founded in the 3rd century, Tsaghkadzor derives its name from the Armenian word for “valley of flowers.” Located on the southeastern slope of Mount Teghenis, Tsaghkadzor developed as a major spa town during Soviet times and was home to the Olympic Sports Complex, opened in 1967 to train Soviet athletes for the Olympic Games. After Armenia gained its independence in the 1990s, it was redeveloped into a winter resort town centered around its ski resort. Tsaghkadzor’s ski resort was fully modernized in the mid-2000s and features a series of four chair lifts known as the Tsaghkadzor Ropeway that take skiers and snowboarders to the top of Mount Teghenis in 40 minutes.
