Facing My Fears In Zakopane
Tale: 10/12.
Location: Zakopane, Poland.
Mission: Learn a skill most people did already as a kid.
It's not always easy to admit that you are bad at something. But when it's obvious that you are, there's no point in hiding it. That should actually spark you to do something about it. That's what happened to me, so I decided to reveal my weakness to the world and be open about it: That's when action comes into play and you give yourself an opportunity for improvement. And in this case the skill that I'm lacking might be vital.
I was born on the icy and snowy conditions: Those are the first elements I got really familiar with. I learned to skate when I learned to walk basically. We used to travel a lot as a family when I was a kid and also to summery conditions. Water was of course present all the time, but nobody ever taught me what to do with it, except to drink it. I went to swimming school at the age of 6 or 7, but all I was taught was to float turtle style and if you know what I'm talking about, that means nothing. I must have been very reluctant already at that age, of course I would have learned to swim otherwise. It was my way or the highway.
Nowadays I strive to succeed passionately and that shows not only in doing something totally different from the mainstream but also in learning new things. It's never just about learning a new skill, it's also about improving as a human being and making yourself a more complete athlete and person. Mobility wise there's a lot to do and like I'm saying in the video, keeping everything relaxed basically all the time seemed to be hard to grasp. In many sports there's always tension followed with relaxation and then tension again (for example hockey, lifting weights, jumping etc.). That's basically the biggest difference between swimming and most other sports. But it surely helps when you do a high variety of other activities, that's when you give yourself a better chance to evolve.

STUDY IN POLAND ⎮African Queen in Poland????????????????????
Why should you consider studying in Poland
Don’t choose just a high-ranking university but also a nice place to live
high-quality education institutions, : The Polish higher education system is well developed and has a history of 650 years of educating high profile. . Polish specialists of all professions are highly appreciated by the recruiters worldwide. Especially Polish doctors, engineers, architects and IT specialists .
The quality of the system is guaranteed by State Accreditation Committee, which monitors all Polish higher education institutions. According to its control results, over 80% of the Polish universities have outstanding and good rankings. International students who choose to study in Poland will have the opportunity to receive a quality education . The quality of the education provided is monitored and regularly evaluated. There are over 5,000 courses available in Poland. All leading universities in Poland offer high-quality programs taught in English, including medicine, engineering, humanities, business, and finance The best three of them are widely recognised as regional academic centres. Warsaw University is ranked first in the Top Coder international IT ranking,
Since 1998, Poland has been part of the Socrates–Erasmus programme and today more than 300 Polish HEIs participate. In 2013, around 10,000 students from all over Europe came to Poland, mostly choosing universities in Warsaw, Poznań, Kraków, Wrocław and Łódź. if your country is in the Erasmus network, probably you won’t need a visa to come to Poland
The tuition fees & cost of living: Studying in Poland is cheaper than studying in other parts of Europe. Tuition fees are around 2000-3000 Euro a year (depending on the field of studies), what's a few times lower than the EU average. Compared to the average fees of private universities in France, Germany or the UK, For example, Northern European countries ask students to pay approximately 10 000 EUR .
The cost of living A shared flat in the city centre for 100-150 EUR or a room in a student dormitory for 100 EUR. What’s more, a monthly public transport ticket costs only 25 EUR per month, and during the warmer half of the year you can use public bikes which are almost free of charge. The low cost of living in Poland makes the country one of the best study destinations for international students living on a budget. the cost of living is still significantly lower than in most of the EU countries. A total amount of 200-500 Euros is enough to cover the basic cost of accommodation, food and transport.
Student life : you will find no time for boredom, partying, sports, music festivals, film festivals, hanging out with friends, going out of town for the weekends, etc Polish cultural institutions provide quality entertainment for all tastes The number of festivals, book fairs, concerts, and other kinds of entertainment is massive
Scholarship : If your country does not belong to the Socrates-Erasmus network, there are still a handful of opportunities. Each year, a considerable number of scholarships for non-EU foreign students are launched. Most of them are dedicated to students from Eastern European Partnership countries: but almost everybody can find a scholarship for which he or she is eligible. The best way to find out is to contact the Polish embassy in your country, as they usually coordinate bilateral student exchange programmes.
How to climb in the sandstones? We went to Poland to find out.
In August 2018 we went to Szczeliniec Wielki in Poland, that is a sandstone area in the south-western part of this country.
This area offers a wide range of amazing features to climb, including slabs, roofs and cracks. There are also specific traditions and ethics here, which originate from the climbing style of German Saxony.
Damian grew up here, so he knows this area pretty well. This one was the first time for Lucy in the sandstones and Damian's lessons were very useful! If you need some info ask us!
And if you plan to come here, please respect the local rules and traditions of the area and remember, that the climbing areas here are a part of the National Park of the Table Mountains.
You will find information about climbing here at this link:

2004 Art Camp Gronkow: Poland & Slovakia
When reflecting on my great experience working with Art Camp participants, I think that the most important impact on their lives came from the encounter with Poland itself. Since all the camps were situated in rural areas, such as the Carpathian Mountains, our students enjoyed walking through meadows, watching storks and listening to meadow larks, smelling the fresh manure ready to fertilize potato and wheat fields, chasing friends with burning nettles, and marveling that they can walk freely wherever they want thanks to the lack of fences separating private properties.
They swam in pure water of Sola River and took hikes in Tatra, Beskidy and Pieniny Mountains. At the end of the day, they were proud conquerors of Turbacz, Przelecz Lipowska or Babia Gora, each about 5000 feet above sea level. For kids from New York suburbs, used to concrete, asphalt and cars so much walking was a challenging but fascinating way to explore new places. They could hardly believe they had really climbed so high and from the tops of the mountains admired the breathtaking views and looked down on their friends who never embarked on such an experience. ~ The Nowodworski Foundation Instructor

He convinced her to record her solos there and worked on a Polish Christmas Carol album called “Ulubione Koledy Polskie”. She sings at different benefit concerts and Christmas concerts.
Prof. David Musial’s father Art ,was a musician who played keyboards. At the tender age of 2-3, David remembers a music box in the golden church used in these photos, playing “Silent Night”. He feels this was his inspiration to become a church musician? He was taught by the wonder Polish Felician Sisters in Primary School, where he earned to cherish the Polish Carols, often playing them on pianos in school. David began music lessons with a Polish Organist named Jane Liskiewicz in 1967 at the age of 7 and by just 10, he was a full-time professional pipe
organist at Precious Blood Polish Catholic Church, in Buffalo, NY. He has played music & conducted adult & children’s choirs at thousands of masses. He designed the Radio & TV Production Facility for the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, composed a great deal of instrumental music for their TV shows including the theme for the Catholic Telecommunications Network Of America (CTNA). In 1987 a private Catholic foundation sent Musial on a full sponsorship to the prestigious Juilliard School of Music for graduate studies and then NYU presented him a full teaching fellowship to
become a professor. Musial has worked on over 100 albums, 7 gold+ and 3 platinum+.
He composed the theme song and provide the audio post for an anti violence project for the U.S. Department of Education, which earned an Emmy Award for MTV! His Music Technology Bachelors Degree Program won a national award and he recently won the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame Award! David Musial co-produced a national TV Documentary about the Spiritual Jazzside of the late, great Jazz Legend DAVE BRUBECK with the Buffalo,Philharmonic Orchestra! Musial has been featured in MODERN LITURGY, BUSINESS WEEK and The NEW YORK TIMES for his integration of Music Technology into a Liturgical setting. Shortly after he was invited to be the organist at Our Lady of Czestochowa in downtown Jersey City, near the Statue of Liberty where he met the very humble & gifted soprano, Kasia Drucker. They have performed over 100 masses together! Currently David is teaching children to sing & play pianos & pipe organs in Catholic Churches near the Statue of Liberty though hi unique Smart Trax® Institute of Technology and the MusicTechKids™ & MusicTech Teens™ programs, where they are becoming NextGen Stars®!
