Don't Come To Carlsbad New Mexico | Carlsbad Caverns National Park
Carlsbad did provide us with our very first experience as work campers but that was about it. There isn't much to do out here.
Carlsbad does have a lot of potentials but it might not ever come to fruition due to their oil field residents they have. The oil field workers do bring money into the town but unfortunately, it cost the town a lot. There are barely any groceries in Carlsbad Walmart, businesses can't find employees due to the fact that no one wants to work in an overpopulated town. Fast-food chain restaurants are giving a starting pay of $17/hour just to take orders to get people to apply.
A few people that we spoke with told us how quiet the town was before the oil fields came and their words to describe it now is loud and stressful. The Carlsbad Caverns National Park is really nice to see and experience but is it worth it with how the town is now? I would only recommend stopping here if you have no choice but to pass through it to get to your destination, but even then it's questionable.
Our store is open!!! Do not forget to check it out!

Travel Guide New Mexico tm Carlsbad Caverns, Carlsbad, New Mexico
Take a turn in the comfortable 56°F climate and behold Carlsbad Caverns' stunning formations borne out of the earth's own vibrant imagination. The creation of the caves began some 250 million years ago, when the region was part of a vast inland sea. The caves weren't occupied until 1,000 years ago, when paleo-Indians first sought refuge there. Visitors today can enjoy self-guided or guided tours, back country explorations, camping and more.
The park contains more than 100 known caves, including Lechuguilla Cave—the nation's deepest (1,567 feet) and third longest limestone cave. Don't miss The Big Room; it's the size of eight football fields combined. There are self-guided and ranger-guided tours. Reservations are recommended for Kings Palace, Left Hand Tunnel, Slaughter Canyon Cave, Lower Cave, Spider Cave, and Hall of the White Giant tours.
Expect ladder climbs, pool crossings, tight crawls and climbing. Oh, and bats - at dusk between May and October, you can witness 400,000 Mexican freetaile bats take to the night!

Skip to ▶ Entering the Cave ???? 2:32
In this episode we explore the Carlsbad Caverns located in Chihuahuan Desert of southern New Mexico. ???? The Big Room in Carlsbad Caverns is the largest accessible cave chamber in North America. ????You can walk down into it without any special equipment though warm clothes and flashlight is advisable! The temperature inside is 13°C ( 56°F) throughout the year with high humidity. ❗ The entrance cost is 12 ???? for adults. It takes around 1-2 h to walk down into it one way with many stops, picture taking etc. You can also take an elevator that will bring you straight down to the cave, but I highly recommend taking a walk to fully enjoy the scenery! ???? It is something that will not disappoint you! Very special place with magnificent views and atmosphere! ????

???? ROAD TRIP ACROSS USA 2018 ❗❗❗
???? I had dream to drive across the USA, from coast to coast. Of course, the preparations were essential, because I have never been to USA and this country was completely unknown to me. Approximately six months before the road trip each day of the trip was thoroughly planned.
???? During the preparations there were plenty of questions regarding the car rental, accommodation, food cost, whether you need a visa, insurance, where to book an affordable flight tickets from Europe, etc. Summer 2018 I made this dream a reality. The trip was 5 week long and we managed to cover more than 11 000 km across 18 states. Our starting point was New York ???? and the end destination was Los Angeles. What happened in-between is hard to put in words, so I tried to video record as much as possible to depict this epic road trip through video filming.
???? The purpose of this video is informative and entertainment. Every Sunday starting from 30.12.2018 I will be uploading videos from this road trip.
????If you like the video please ❗share❗ it with your friends! ????

Exploring Carlsbad Caverns National Park in Carlsbad New Mexico
Exploring Carlsbad Caverns National Park in Carlsbad New Mexico. Carlsbad Caverns is home to some of the most spectacular examples of underground geologic features found anywhere in the United States. Located in southeastern New Mexico, the park contains more than 300 limestone caves carved over the course of 250 million years.
One of the most exemplary caverns in the system is known as the Big Room. At nearly 4,000 feet across and 255 feet high, the Big Room is the fifth-largest underground chamber in the United States. Many areas have yet to be explored. In fact, an entire new chamber was most recently discovered in 2013.

Slaughter Canyon Trail pt. 1
First of two days I spent on Slaughter Canyon trail at Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
I did not see a single person from the time I left my car at the trailhead until I returned. When I returned my permit the park ranger told me it was common to not see any other people on these trails. Cell service also was MIA. On the ridge would get a few bars for a second and then instantly lose the signal.
Had a terrible time getting this video up. First a never ending stream of errors from Sony Vegas and then internet at the hotel would constantly fail to upload. Starbucks does come in handy sometimes...

New Mexico's Brokeoff Mountains Could See More Protection | Pew & This American Land
New Mexico's Brokeoff Mountains are a stretch of rugged canyons and peaks relatively untouched by development, and locals want to keep it that way.
The Brokeoff Mountains are located in the southeastern corner of New Mexico and encompass Lincoln National Forest, Carlsbad Caverns, and Guadalupe National Park.
Half of the mountain range has been designated as a wilderness study area because it is an ecological hotspot for rare plant and animal species. The area is also home to archeological sites, caves, and rock shelters. Still some unprotected spaces are threatened by natural gas development and mining for rare earth minerals.
The Bureau of Land Management is revising its management plan for the Brokeoff Mountains, and The Pew Charitable Trusts and local partners are encouraging the agency to conserve a greater share of land in this area to more effectively preserve its ecological richness.
Get to know this special place, and the people working to protect it, in this episode of This American Land, produced in partnership with The Pew Charitable Trusts.
