Chattanooga
We will spend the day exploring Chattanooga, TN and the surrounding area. Our day includes heading to Rock City and seeing the Ruby Falls.
Chattanooga, TN Chattanooga is the fourth-largest city in the U.S. state of Tennessee. A unique distinction for Chattanooga is the fact that the city has its own typeface, Chatype, which was launched in August 2012.
Ruby Falls The famous Ruby Falls, an underground waterfall, are a natural phenomenon, and are fed by rainwater and underground springs. The water from the falls flows out of the caverns and eventually joins up with the Tennessee River.
Rock City is as famous for its aggressive mid-19th-century marketing campaigns as for its views and gardens. Still, Rock City does offer a lot to visitors: panoramic views, botanical gardens, and amazing rock formations are all features.
Lookout Mountain Incline Railway This tram has been running almost continually since 1895, and with the exception of an engine update in 1911, it hasn't changed that much. The ride stretches about one mile up the mountain and reaches a grade of 72.7%.

About Smooth Hound Smith:
Smooth Hound Smith is a foot stompin' American roots duo comprised of One-Man-Band Zack Smith (guitars/vocals/foot drums/harmonicas) and Caitlin Doyle (vocals/percussion). Established in 2012, and currently based in East Nashville, TN, they record and perform a varied and unique style of folky, garage-infused rhythm & blues. Using primal foot percussion, complex, fuzzed-out, finger-picked guitar patterns, warbled harmonicas, tasty harmonies and A LOT of tambourine, they are able to create something rugged and visceral- a modern interpretation of early blues, soul, and rock 'n' roll music that harkens back to the traditions of hazy front porch folk songs as well as raucous back-alley juke joints.
The duo has traveled over 100,000 road miles, playing over 500 shows in over 30 states in the last two-and-a-half years. Their eponymous debut album garnered attention from media outlets such as Nashville's independent radio, WRLT Lightning 100, as well as publications like American Songwriter and RELIX Magazine. They were also selected over thousands of other bands to perform at the 2015 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN, headlined by Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, and more. In addition, the music of Smooth Hound Smith has been featured on ABC's Nashville, MTV's The Real World, and the Esquire Network.

Lyrics:
I’ve been thinking about the wrong that I’ve done, thought there’d be a light, but all I see is a setting sun
I’ve been looking to the mirror, to the past to find a little grace, but all there is, is broken glass
Who am I to blame?
I come home like a stranger, but you still know my name
Who have I become?
Just a dog in a manger with the poison in my blood
With the poison in my blood
Now you’re waiting for the night or the day when the heavy, heavy darkness won’t be swimming around my brain
And all I am is a coiled spring, and I am poised and I am ready to do some more awful things
Who am I to blame?
I come home like a stranger, but you still know my name
Who have I become?
Just a dog in a manger with the poison in my blood
With the poison in my blood
Who am I to blame?
I come home like a stranger, but you still know my name
Who have I become?
Just a dog in a manger with the poison in my blood
With the poison in my blood
Just a dog in a manger (just a dog)
Just a dog in a manger (just a dog)
Just a dog in a manger (just a dog)
Just a dog

Tennessee wildfire smoke could be making it's way to Michigan
Smelling smoke this morning? Its possible wildfires burning in Tennessee right now could be the reason for the smoky smell around Mid-Michigan. Many people who stepped outside last night and early this morning could smell smoke. The wind gusts from the wildfires in the popular resort towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee are pretty strong- strong enough to possibly carry the smell of smoke all the way here.
