Spruce Street Suspension Bridge San Diego California - Live Stream
Spruce Street Suspension Bridge San Diego California.
Built in 1912 this suspension footbridge is a historic site in San Diego. It was originally built to connect the people who lived on the west side of the canyon with the bankers Hill neighborhood on the east side of the canyon where people could have easy access to trolleys and shopping.
The canyon below the bridge really looks like you could be in some tropical paradise. When walking across the bridge you can feel it sway slightly.
It's really unusual to find a suspension footbridge like this in a major city in the United States. This is definitely a must visit historic location in San Diego California

Three Bridges Hike - a great urban hike in downtown San Diego
San Diego is a city that is interspersed with tiny wilderness corridors. One of the most unique hikes near the city's core is one that travels through Maple Canyon, city streets, and allows hikers the chances to see three historic bridges - Quince, First, and Spruce. Even more fun is the fact that the Spruce Street bridge is a suspension bridge. The route is just over 1.75 miles, and accessible to everyone year round.

Walking across the Spruce Street Suspension Bridge in San Diego as my husband, unbeknownst to me, is shaking the hell out of it.
SAN DIEGO 7 BRIDGE HIKE + ABANDON BRIDGE 2019
On this day (August 2019), I hiked the famous seven bridge hike in San Diego, California. Although technically, there are more than seven bridges. The Seven Bridge Walk is around 6.5 miles or more, depending on the path you take. It is a reasonably trafficked loop trail and is available for all skill levels. The trail is mainly used for hiking, walking, and nature trips. The best months to hike this adventure walk would be from April until September, but it’s San Diego and any month is fine in my opinion.
Frist, Park Boulevard Bridge start on the east side of Park Boulevard near Village Place and find the entrance to a bridge by one of Balboa Park’s sweetest-smelling features: the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden. Make your way across and toward the park’s Bea Evenson Fountain.
Second, Cabrillo Bridge was built in 1914 ahead of the Panama-California Exposition and was the state’s first multiple-arched cantilever bridge. Back then, a pond flowed below it.
Third, First Avenue Bridge was assembled in a Midwestern fabrication plant, dismantled, and shipped to San Diego in 1931 before being retrofitted for earthquakes in 2010. This bridge is the only steel-arch bridge in San Diego.
Forth, Quince Street Bridge is a 236-foot-long bridge crossing 60 feet above Maple Canyon. The wooden-trestle affair was constructed in 1905 for pedestrian access to the Fourth Avenue Trolley Station.
Fifth, Spruce Street Suspension Bridge is an iconic swaying suspension bridge built in 1912 that crosses Kate Sessions Canyon. A popular location for social media.
Sixth, Vermont Street Bridge was built in 1995 to replace a wooden-trestle bridge dating back to 1916.
Lastly, Georgia Street Bridge is a concrete bridge connecting Hillcrest and North Park that was built in 1914 which is landmarked. The bridge was currently ongoing major restoration and was reopened to pedestrian traffic in 2018.
