When asked about the reasons behind creating this event, the host of the event, Low Carb Downunder said:
“The event will discuss such questions as – Is a well formulated low carbohydrate higher fat (LCHF) diet the most effective diet for well-being, weight optimisation and long term health?”.
One of the keynote speakers is Vicky Kuriel from EatPlayLove.com.au . She is the only dietitian in Melbourne (and possibly one of the only dietitians in Australia) who sees patients in private practice for LCHF nutrition.
Kuriel will begin with speaking about her personal experiences with LCHF and then how this lead her to change the way she practices as a dietitian. From being frustrated and disillusioned with the profession, because she was not assisting her patients achieve the results they were after, she is now re-invigorated and excited about how nutrition, or more specifically LCHF, can really change someone’s life and move them in the direction of their goals.
Kuriel will then discuss four case studies, all very different
1. Maggie – an expert dieter who has never been able to lose weight and keep it off. The desperation she felt and how her life has changed since adopting LCHF. Now, 20kg lighter, no more joint aches and pains,has begun training for her first 5km fun run, happier. 2015 St Kilda Film Festival Cinema Build in St Kilda Town Hall
Watch the St Kilda Town Hall be transformed into a state of the art Cinema and home the 2015 St Kilda Film Festival.
The St Kilda Town Hall is a beautiful timber floored, sandstone walled auditorium, 35m x 20m in size. One third of the room has some 'cinema-style' carpet, so the transformation had already started before we knew it.
There were three main areas of concern in order to successfully complete the build: audio, projection, and a seating bank.
Fortunately the SKFF team have worked very closely each year with Mediatec, one of Australia’s leading broadcast specialists in the area of events, sports and television production. The video playback / projection side of things were in fact the easiest component of the temporary set up, given we have installed all playback / projection equipment into our previous venue. The projection is taken care of by a single Barco HDX-W18 18,000 lumen projector, with an additional HDX-W18 hung as a redundancy option. Control is set up more along the lines of a typical broadcast / corporate setup, with all playback sources being fed into a Ross Carbonite HD 2ME Production Switcher. This enables us to integrate (at ease), additional sources and playback devices to be used throughout the week. This may include various PCs for presentation / lecture purposes as an example. Film content comes from 4 x Grass Valley T2 Intelligent Digital Playback Servers with all content in the form of a QuickTime MOV container and an Apple Pro Res 422 (HQ) codec, screened at 1920 x 1080. Mediatec also purchased a micro-peforated projection surface to go onto one of their existing 27.5’ x 15’ Stumpfl screen frames.
As for the audio component, we called upon Monitor City, another leader in the audio production industry. They installed 12 x Nexo Geo M620 cabinets for Left, Centre & Right hands, with 6 x Nexo PS8 Cabinets handling the surround requirements. 2 x Nexo RS 18 subs provide the cinematic bottom end. Control is through a Digico SD9 (Broadcast edition).

Specialty Theatre manufactured and installed large room divider curtains in the recently renovated and historic St Kilda Town Hall in Melbourne, Australia.
The curtains were made of high-quality and heavy weight theatre wool with terrific sound absorbing properties and fire retarded to Australian Standard AS1530 parts 2 & 3.

Josephine Rowbury- The Gallery- St Kilda Townhall Winter 2012
Atmospheric Mapping is the new exhibition by artist Josephine Rowbury. The show opens in the Gallery at the St Kilda Town Hall tomorrow and features easel paintings, drawings and ceramics.
Rowbury studied Building and Environmental Design at RMIT and went on to pursue painting at Victoria College in Prahran and was involved in the Community Arts Training Program at the Ministry of Arts.
Atmospheric Mapping includes one of the three works from the 1990s Midden series by Rowbury, that are featured the Port Phillip City Collection. The exhibition includes drawings from the late 1990s, referencing fragments that developed from the Midden series, and incorporates works on canvas and ceramics produced since the 1990s to the present.
Concerned with balancing the content, application of paint and surface, Rowbury's work is themed by colour in an attempt to create an atmosphere of light, and draw attention to atmosphere as an intellectual and moral pursuit.
Atmospheric Mapping includes a site specific collaboration piece between Rowbury and her daughter Anna Rowbury, a ceramicist who studied at RMIT. This is the first time a site specific installation has been developed for the 10m curved wall at The Gallery.

Many of this iconic festival's screenings have gone on to gain international recognition - namely at the Oscars and the Cannes Film Festival.
We decked out the SKFF Festival Lounge in St Kilda Town Hall with Yamaha amps and speakers - providing the perfect atmosphere to relax and chill out with a pre-show drink whilst being entertained by various soundtracks.
