St. Ann's Revisited Preview
A teaser of just some of the footage and pics of our revisit to the beautiful St Ann's Church now known as St Ann's Arts And Cultural Center located in Woonsocket, RI. Please don't comment about the pics being blurry and somewhat disorienting, we meant to do that. And please do stay tuned for our results of that night's investigation. Lot's of footage means lot's of time analyzing and editing it all to fit here. Our thanks to the owners of St Ann's for the opportunity to investigate and be invited back to this gorgeous architectural and art filled gem of a location. Thanks to the St Ann's Arts And Cultural Center Board Members who joined us on this night of investigating. Thanks to Steve Moreau and Charles Reis of Ninjacthulhu And Creepy Places of New England for ALL you do (and you know what this means guys)! Thanks to URIGHT for helping us to cover this enormous place from top to bottom and for your insightful and professional input. You guys are great! And I know I'm leaving lot's out, (namedropping's the pits), but last and certainly not least, a very special thanks to Jono Bentley aka DemiGodDoesNintendo here on You Tube for your rocking rendition of Greensleeves and your permission for us to use it here in our video. You can visit all these fine folks and see their great vids right here on You Tube. Enjoy! I know we did!

Creepy Places of New England: St Ann's Arts and Cultural Center
This old Catholic Church, now an Arts and Cultural Center, is located in Woonsocket, and calling it America's Sistine Chapel wouldn't be a stretch. We got a guided tour of the building and was told some interesting paranormal stories. Some of the videos were dark, so I either enhanced it's brightness (as best as I could) or replaced it with photos.
St. Ann's Church Part 4
St. Ann's Church Arts and Cultural Center Investigation Part 4
On November 13th of 2009, John Hardy and Fran Ford of Price Paranormal and Echoes Paranormal had the honor and pleasure of being invited to join Charles Reis and Stephen Moreau (ninjacthulhu here on You Tube) of Creepy Places of New England and the Paranormal Investigation Team of URIGHT(University of RI Ghost Hunting Team, headed by Adam Braga and Charles Reis) on an investigation of St Ann's Church in Woonsocket, RI, now known as The St Ann Arts and Cultural Center (SAA&CC).
St Ann's Church is a fascinating location with an amazing history and we felt very fortunate to have been invited to join in on the investigation of this remarkable place.
The size of this architectural gem is overshadowed only by it's interior and exterior beauty which are plain to see from the moment you pull up outside and step inside it's doors.
St Ann's is noted as being the home of the largest collection of fresco paintings in North America. Also noted by art critics as rivaling if not surpassing those found in The Sistine Chapel. Any description I try to give here would not do this gorgeous cathedral justice. It simply has to be seen to be fully appreciated and believed.
We were asked to investigate SAA&CC due to some activity possibly paranormal in nature that it's owners, volunteers and board members have experienced since day one of their residence there. There's been so much activity noted that they all felt it could no longer be ignored or brushed aside.
The shear size of the building warranted a large group of investigators to cover it as thoroughly as possible.
SAA&CC did not fail to deliver and nearly every single one of the investigators present on this night had personal experiences which were then backed up with the evidence we all collected and reviewed. Hundreds of EVPs were recorded by Price Paranormal alone!
SAA&CC offers many ways for you to experience this architectural masterpiece and it's vibrant and jaw dropping works of art. A camera is a must when you visit, but might we suggest that you bring a recorder with you as well. Who knows, you may just end up having your own paranormal experience while there.

And if you feel inspired and inclined to help preserve this historical location please make a donation. The upkeep of SAA&CC is astronomical and any donation at all will be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE!!
We were fortunate to be invited back to investigate SAA&CC and did just that on the night of Sat. May 8th, 2010. Along with Steve Moreau who served as Case Manager, those included in this investigation were Charles Reis, Adam Braga and members of URIGHT, John Hardy and Fran Ford of Price Paranormal/ECHOES Paranormal, the owner of SAA&CC, it's Director and various esteemed board members. We wish to take the time to thank Dominique, Walter and all the wonderful volunteers for not only allowing us the opportunity to literally crawl deep into the nooks and crannies of this truly amazing location, but for joining us as we did so. We hope you had as much fun as we did.

Jewish Community Cookbooks
March 5, 2014
Dr. Megan Elias, Associate Professor, Department of History, Queensborough Community College
Although there were a few very well-known cookbooks for Jewish families published before the Second World War in America, the post-war period saw a tremendous increase in the numbers of this genre. In particular, Jewish groups all over America published community cookbooks, usually for the purpose of fundraising. These books represent a new pride in identity which was intimately tied to the very public nature of Jewish suffering during the Holocaust. Working with the important collection of Jewish Community Cookbooks at the Dorot Division of the New York Public Library, this project seeks to put these cookbooks into the context of post-war American culture and an emerging sense of global citizenship.

SUMMARY
=======
George Stanley McGovern (July 19, 1922 – October 21, 2012) was an American historian, author, U.S. representative, U.S. senator, and the Democratic Party presidential nominee in the 1972 presidential election.
McGovern grew up in Mitchell, South Dakota, where he was a renowned debater. He volunteered for the U.S. Army Air Forces upon the country's entry into World War II and as a B-24 Liberator pilot flew 35 missions over German-occupied Europe. Among the medals bestowed upon him was a Distinguished Flying Cross for making a hazardous emergency landing of his damaged plane and saving his crew. After the war he earned degrees from Dakota Wesleyan University and Northwestern University, culminating in a PhD, and was a history professor. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1956 and re-elected in 1958. After a failed bid for the U.S. Senate in 1960, he was a successful candidate in 1962.
As a senator, McGovern was an exemplar of modern American liberalism. He became most known for his outspoken opposition to the growing U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. He staged a brief nomination run in the 1968 presidential election as a stand-in for the assassinated Robert F. Kennedy. The subsequent McGovern–Fraser Commission fundamentally altered the presidential nominating process, by greatly increasing the number of caucuses and primaries and reducing the influence of party insiders. The McGovern–Hatfield Amendment sought to end the Vietnam War by legislative means but was defeated in 1970 and 1971. McGovern's long-shot, grassroots-based 1972 presidential campaign found triumph in gaining the Democratic nomination but left the party badly split ideologically, and the failed vice-presidential pick of Thomas Eagleton undermined McGovern's credibility. In the general election McGovern lost to incumbent Richard Nixon in one of the biggest landslides in American electoral history. Re-elected Senator in 1968 and 1974, McGovern was defeated in a bid for a fourth term in 1980.
Throughout his career, McGovern was involved in issues related to agriculture, food, nutrition, and hunger. As the first director of the Food for Peace program in 1961, McGovern oversaw the distribution of U.S. surpluses to the needy abroad and was instrumental in the creation of the United Nations–run World Food Programme. As sole chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs from 1968 to 1977, McGovern publicized the problem of hunger within the United States and issued the McGovern Report, which led to a new set of nutritional guidelines for Americans. McGovern later served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture from 1998 to 2001 and was appointed the first UN global ambassador on world hunger by the World Food Programme in 2001. The McGovern–Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program has provided school meals for millions of children in dozens of countries since 2000 and resulted in McGovern's being named World Food Prize co‑laureate in 2008.
