Sean Quinlan speaks of Kerry History
Sean Quinlan give talk on History of Kerry and Ireland at Kilfeighny, Lixnaw Co Kerry, Ireland.Lixnaw 1837
The R. C. district of Lixnaw comprises the parishes of Kilcarragh and Kiltoomy, and the greater portions of Dysert, Finuge, Kilshinane, and Kilfeighny; and contains the chapels of Lixnaw, or Ballinageragh, and Iramore. The former, which was erected in 1805, has a painting of the crucifixion over the altar, executed in a superior style by an Italian artist. Adjoining the village are the ruins of the old church, and the extensive remains of the ancient castellated mansion of the earls of Kerry; and on a mount at a short distance to the north-east is a monument, or mausoleum, of John, the third Earl, of a circular form, resting on a square base and terminating in a dome; whence an extensive view of the surrounding country is obtained. Lixnaw gives the inferior title of Baron to the Marques of Lansdowne.

Fr John Keane, SA - A Faith Story
Meet Rev. John Keane, SA, who professed as a Franciscan Friar of the Atonement in 1956 and was ordained as a priest in 1962. The faith story of this Philadelphia native is interesting and compelling, and gives real insight as to what a consecrated life through a religious vocation can be.
In this interview with Fr. Higgins on the Assumption Church's public access TV show, Catholic Peekskill, Fr. John Keane talks about Graymoor's social ministry for men suffering from chemical dependency, the Friars' charism of ecumenism and interfaith relations, and founders of the Society of Atonement and Graymoor, Father Paul Wattson and Mother Lurana White.
Fr. John first visited Graymoor as a child, and his journey within the Church as a Friar brought him to ministries in Japan, where he served for 18 years, becoming fluent in the language. He has served in other places in the world, such as Howard University in Washington, DC, and as an Ecumenical Officer for the diocese of San Francisco. Now that he has returned to live at Graymoor, Fr. John is an active member of PAPA (Peekskill Area Pastors Association), a group founded at the time of abolition in the United States, which today focuses on social issues in the community such as hunger. Currently, he is working on a book about the Japanese concept of God.
