St. Lawrence Church, Bondel

St. Joseph Church, Belman is a Roman Catholic Church and Parish is located in Belmannu, Karkala taluk, Udupi district, Karnataka,India. It was formerly a part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore but was shifted to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Udupi after the latter was carved out of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore on 15 of October 2011. It comes under the Archdiocese of Bangalore. It follows the Latin Rite of Mass albeit translated into the Konkani language. The Parish was established in 1894. At present, the Catholic population is around 2,600 and Catholic families account for around 540. The Parish is divided into 21 wards. 'San Zuzechi Betkati ' ' is the Parish Newsletter. Late Bishop Baptist Mudartha, retired Bishop of Allahabad hails from this Parish. As of 2018, 16 Parish Priests have worked for the development of the Parish and social & spiritual growth of the Parishioners.
