MUNICH, EXPLORING the spectacular 13th century BAROQUE CHURCH of ST PETER (Peterskirche) ⛪
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit the Kirche St. Peter (“Church of St. Peter”) which is one of Munich’s landmarks, the oldest parish church in the city, and is known affectionately by the locals as Alter Peter (“Old Peter”).
Before the foundation of Munich as a city in 1158, there had been a pre-Merovingian church on this site. 8th century monks lived around this church on a hill called Petersbergl. At the end of the 12th century a new church in the Bavarian Romanesque style was consecrated, and expanded in Gothic style shortly before the great fire in 1327, which destroyed the building. After its reconstruction the church was dedicated anew in 1368. In the early 17th century the 91 meter spire received its Renaissance steeple top and a new Baroque choir was added
Munich, Bavaria’s capital, is home to centuries-old buildings and numerous museums. The city is known for its annual Oktoberfest celebration and its beer halls, including the famed Hofbräuhaus, founded in 1589. In the Altstadt (Old Town), central Marienplatz square contains landmarks such as Neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus (town hall), with a popular glockenspiel show that chimes and reenacts stories from the 16th century.
Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Munich is known for its Oktoberfest and beer halls, including the 16th-century Hofbräuhaus. Frankfurt, with its skyscrapers, houses the European Central Bank.

Highlights: Exploring Heidelberg, Germany on foot, in summer (June 2019)
This was my first visit to the beautiful, historic city of Heidelberg. Its an ancient city on the banks of the Neckar river. It has a world famous castle that sits overlooking the old city. It has a magnificent city center which has Europe's longest shopping street. You have breathtaking views of green hills all around the city. This city, thankfully, survived the 2nd World War.
This is only a must-see compilation for your city tour. This city has a lot more to offer!
Recommended stay: At least 1 day
You can walk around the city on foot easily. Do carry some snacks and a water bottle with you!

International Lutheran Ctr. Dedication in Wittenberg, Part II
Video coverage continues of the Festival Dedication Service for the International Lutheran Center in Wittenberg, Germany. After the St. Mary’s service, the worshipers processed from St. Mary’s to the doors of the Old Latin School, after which local government officials — including the governor of Saxony-Anhalt and a representative of the regional Protestant church that includes Wittenberg in its territory — acknowledged the significance of the school and Wittenberg’s Lutheran heritage.
