The Stadio Olimpico is the main and largest sports facility of Rome, Italy. It is located within the Foro Italico sports complex, north of the city. The structure is an asset of the Italian National Olympic Committee and it is intended primarily for football. The Stadio Olimpico is the home stadium of Serie A clubs Lazio and Roma and also hosts the Coppa Italia final. It was rebuilt for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and it hosted the tournament final.

ROMA VS JUVENTUS | STADIO OLIMPICO
March 2015 I travelled out to Rome to watch AS Roma vs Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico. Serie A match, Juventus in first place with Roma just behind in second.
Footage of the atmosphere and goals in a fierce competitive match. I paid €50 for my ticket, an experience I will never forget.

Italy: Thousands gather for Roma-Lazio derby at Olimpico

Thousands of fans arrived at Rome's biggest stadium Olimpico on Sunday, ahead of the Roma-Lazio derby.
Lazio gathered before the match and headed to the match all together chanting their songs and slogans.
“The derby is always the most important game of the season. Fans are waiting for it all year,” said Riccardo di Pietro, a Lazio fan.
For the Eagles, it's the first derby without Diabolik, the leader of the Irreducibili, Lazio's ultras, as he was killed on August 7 in Rome. To pay him respect, some fans wore t-shirts with his nickname.
Thousands of policemen maintained the order before the match in order to avoid clashes.

• 1. Lead Piacenza back to Serie A.
• 2. Learn from past mistakes and ensure a financially sound football club.
• 3. Give Piacenza a new Bison. Create a Serie A top scorer.
Oh, by the way: ‘Lupo e Bisonte’ is the name of the save and translates to ‘Wolf and Bison’. The Wolf after the wolf on the Piacenza crest which is inspired by the she-wolf on the Piacenza coat of arms. The Bison, obviously being Dario Hübner.

We visited The Stadio Olimpico (originally called the Stadio dei Cipressi) on March 11, 2019 to watch a soccer game. It was designed within the larger project of the Foro Mussolini (Mussolini Forum) which was renamed Foro Italico after the war and has ingrained itself into Italian Culture. Arriving at the stadium I immediately felt the atmosphere. Chants could be heard from people all pooling from the bridges and taxis, singing hymns of their team. The culture surrounding sports in Italy was something I have not seen anywhere in the US for any sport.

The Stadio Olimpico is the main and largest sports facility of Rome, Italy. It is located within the Foro Italico sports complex, north of the city. The structure is an asset of the Italian National Olympic Committee and it is intended primarily for football. The Stadio Olimpico is the home stadium of Serie A clubs Lazio and Roma and also hosts the Coppa Italia final. It was rebuilt for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and it hosted the tournament final.
Rated an UEFA category four stadium, it has also hosted four European Cup finals, the most recent being the 2009 UEFA Champions League Final. Outside football, the stadium is used by the Italian national rugby union team and it is Italy's national athletics stadium. Occasionally, it hosts concerts and events.
The stadium has a current capacity of 72,698, distributed as follows:

The stadium was one of the venues of the 1990 FIFA World Cup, and held six matches. The first five involved host nations Italy. All their Group A matches (1–0 wins over Austria 9 June and United States on 14 June respectively and a 2–0 win over Czechoslovakia on 19 June), their Round of 16 match against Uruguay on 26 June winning 2–0 and their Quarter-finals against Republic of Ireland on 30 June winning 1–0. The sixth was the Final where West Germany and Argentina on 8 July with West Germany winning 1–0.
